SAFE, HAPPY, LEARNING, RESPECTFUL
P6 have started having art lessons with Miss Murray on a Monday. They have been learning about Scottish Artists. This week they learned about Joan Eardley and created some fantastic self portraits with oil pastels.
This week we have been learning about decimals and place value in maths . We have also been trying to improve our fluency in basic facts. Here are some pictures of P6 practising addition and multiplication using card games.
Sharing our learning about Karen Gillan.
One of our topics for this term is significant people from the Highlands. Everyone chose a person they wanted to research. We have learned about Karen Gillan, George Henry Mackenzie, Ryan Christie, Tilda Swinton, Hugh Miller and Rory Macdonald . We will be sharing our discoveries on the blog.
We used clay to recreate some of the fossils Hugh Miller found in Cromarty in the 1800's.
Sharing some of our learning about George Henry Mackenzie.
We used measuring and problem skills to create an accurate scale model of the solar system out of salt dough. We were surprised by how huge the gas planets were compared to the rocky planets.
