Lee Eung-Bok's Sweet Home, a Korean live action survival and horror television series, is an adaptation of a popular webcomic by the same name, originally written by Kim Carnby. The series was released onto Netflix on Dec. 18, 2020, and in a matter of three days, the series made it to the top 10 in multiple countries, and the top three in the United States—deservedly.

Sweet Home follows the main character as he and the last survivors of his apartment complex fight to survive an outbreak of humans turning into monsters, while at the same time, trying to figure out the cause of everything. The introduction of the first episode gives the audience a glimpse into the middle of the story, hooking them in.

“This is a story about us," a voice speaks. “The ones trying to find a reason to live in a world where this is harder than merely surviving.”

Every character is outstanding and detailed in their own way. They each have their own history and struggles, making the audience grow emotionally attached to them and building more tension as it’s unpredictable who will pass at any moment. The actors give convincing performances, portraying intimidating people who range far from their uplifting personalities. The series spent over $27 million on the set alone. Most of the budget focuses on special effects and CGI for the monsters that are very diverse and have their own insane designs. Pro designers who worked on films such as Avengers and Stranger Things collaborated with Sweet Home, and you'll see the similarities. The camera-work and song production is equally stunning. The angles and movement, while a character is running or attacking, builds up suspense, and the soundtrack intensifies the moment even more. Old hits like Warriors by Imagine Dragons are included never fail to send chills.

With a total of 10 episodes, there are no current updates about another season as the show ended with a minority of missing details, leaving fans eager for answers.
