More than any other U.S. school district, Baltimore public schools started taking serious strides towards reopening their buildings after parent outcry in December 2020, but teacher union pushback and public official concerns meant reopening has been pushed back.

So far, Oregon is in Phase 1b, which started Jan. 25 with childcare providers and early learning, and then K-12 educators and staff.

The DDEF has been supporting district families in need during the Coronavirus pandemic by providing meals, non-consumable essentials, and internet availability, while also covering family bills and rent.

Although the governor announced that she hopes districts will transition to in-person instruction by Feb. 15, the DDSD School Board voted to extend CDL up to Spring Break.

Despite the nation's capital being overrun with rioters during the Congressional electoral count on Jan. 6, Congress affirmed that President-elect Joe Biden, along with Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, lawfully won the election and will be sworn into office on Jan. 20.
