Some Good News, the new YouTube web series started on March 29 by creator and host actor John Krasinski (best known as Jim from The Office) follows Krasinski as he operates from his home and highlights good news from around the world.

Krasinski created a new YouTube channel just for the show, and it has become a hit. The channel currently has 2.52 million subscribers, along with the first episode that was released a month ago, and has gained 17 million views. A new episode is uploaded every Sunday. Each episode includes good news sent to Krasinski on Twitter by fans. Highlights include interviews with guests, celebrities, and actors. Occasionally, there’s a weather segment included by an actor. In addition, there are SGN correspondents who share good news from around the world.

There’s also Some Good News Merch on Sevenly, their official store. The merchandise is exclusively inspired by designs submitted by talented fans. Viewers can submit their fan art to somegoodmerch@gmail.com. The shopper then decides where they would like to send 100% of the proceeds, either to Hunger: World Central Kitchen, Frontline Responders: Direct Relief, or Youth Resources: Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

A highlight of the first episode was the 15th anniversary of The Office, which included an interview with Steve Carell, as well as an interview with Krasinski’s new hero, Coco, a 15-year-old girl who finally returned home after her last chemotherapy treatment to find her entire street filled with neighbors, family, and friends honking from their cars to celebrate her return.

A highlight of the second episode was surprising nine-year-old Aubrey with the perfect Zoom meeting. Aubrey was supposed to see Hamilton with her family on her 9th birthday, but couldn’t due to COVID-19. She was watching Mary Poppins Returns at home when Krasinski surprised her with a Zoom call with Emily Blunt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and the rest of the Hamilton cast, who all sang Aubrey her favorite Hamilton song.

“If you can’t go to Hamilton, we’re bringing Hamilton to you,” said Krasinski.

Episodes Four, Six, and Seven included several weather segments. Episode Four’s segment was brought to viewers by Brad Pitt. Ryan Reynolds delivered Episode Six’s, and by Emma Stone did Episode Seven.

A highlight of Episode Seven was another surprise and shocking Zoom meeting, this time for newly engaged couple Suzanne and John, who recreated Jim’s proposal to Pam from The Office. Krasinski surprised the couple with a wedding party and invited their families, friends, and the entire cast of The Office to celebrate and dance for the new couple.

“We are all going through an incredibly trying time, but through all the anxiety, through all the confusion, all the isolation, and all The Tiger King, somehow the human spirit found a way to break through and blow us all away,” said Krasinski.
