Language Skills and Strategies in Focus: Listening, Pronunciation, and Speaking Skills
Age & Level: 14-19-year-olds; Level B2-C2 (Per CEFR Levels)
Length of Lessons: 90 Minutes
The purpose of this lesson is to introduce students to the School-to-Prison Pipeline and Zero Tolerance Policies. Students will learn key vocabulary related to Zero Tolerance Policies as well as practice pronunciation of words with the /shun/ and /zhun/ sounds.
The purpose of this lesson is for students to learn about School Resource Officers (SROs), their role in schools, and their connection to Zero Tolerance Policies. Students will review vocabulary from the first lesson, listen to a news video, and practice speaking in an advocacy situation.
The purpose of this lesson is to teach students about alternative approaches to discipline in schools, specifically Restorative Justice practices. Students will complete a listening activity and play a review game to wrap up the unit.
