By the year 2050, it is estimated that around 75% of the world's population will be impacted by droughts. Low reservoirs, withering crops, and deadly heatwaves affect millions of people worldwide.  

This unit is designed to introduce the topics of the impacts of droughts, water-saving solutions, and new innovative technology through a series of 3 engaging ninety-minute lessons.

This lesson explores the far-reaching impacts of droughts on countries around the world. From the basic science behind droughts and the serious reality of shrinking reservoirs to the innovative ways that governments are combating this crisis. 

This lesson dives into the affect that droughts have on cities, both large and small, around the globe. From deadly heat waves and melting asphalt to the new inventions of individuals to help cities fight off the damaging effect of droughts.

This lesson looks at how droughts alter the lives of families and individuals a like. From dwindling water and dying crops to water and energy saving strategies to reinforce the fact that even the smallest thing can help.
