Teaching L2 Oral Skills

Welcome!

This Open Education Resource was designed as part of a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) course on Teaching Second Language (L2) Oral Skills taught at the University of Colorado Boulder

On this site you'll find a variety of thematic units with lesson plans on a range of social justice topics, including: climate justice (living sustainably), criminal (in)justice and wrongful convictions, (D)eaf culture, immigration, bi/multilingual education, refugee education, educational (In)equality, Black Lives Matter & protest movements, and more!

We will continue to add to these modules as part of the TESOL Program at CU Boulder.

Contributors

Designers of the thematic units in this Open Education Resource are current and former students at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Each unit contains three lesson plans with a variety of tasks and activities. Designers included multimodal sources of input and output, including videos, podcasts and digital storytelling. In addition, most units contain additional resources for teachers and learners who would like to dive deeper into the topic.

These units can be adapted by teachers of English as an Additional Language (EAL) around the world.

We'd love your feedback. Whether you used these units with your learners or simply explored the site, let us know about your experience. Complete this brief survey.
