The Teacher Toolkit's goal is to offer additional resources for lesson plans and activities to expand on students learning about Deaf Culture, Deaf Advocacy, Deaf Communities and Deaf history. Teachers are encouraged to add any of the following resources to provide scaffolding for future activities and lesson plans. The resources can also be used to broaden personal perspectives and knowledge of Deaf culture and advocacy.

This article shares important information on finding language disparities commonly found in Deaf children between the ages of 0-5 . LEAD-K is a bill fighting for the right of Deaf children having equal access to language. There has been some research of more than 90% of Deaf children are born to hearing parents. (NCID, 2024) When this occurs the parents are given options about how their child will develop language. ASL is usually not recommended as one of the options which has been seen as a probable cause to the language disparities. Therefore, educators have put forth this bill.
