***What Does Deuteronomy 18:15-19 TRULY mean?
Here is Deuteronomy 18:18 from the KJV. “I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.”
Is Deuteronomy 18:15-19 a prophecy of Jesus the Prophet that God gave as His New Covenant?
Or is Deuteronomy a prophecy of Muhammid, the prophet of Islam as some Muslims claim?
In other words, does the Bible ITSELF teach the TRUTH?
Or does the Quran, which contradicts the Bible, teach the truth? Should Muslims follow and obey the Prophet Jesus?
Or should Muslims disobey the words of Jesus and believe the words of Muhammad OVER what Jesus teaches in the Bible?

Book 8 Chapter 4.
What Does Deuteronomy 18:18 TRULY Mean?
Christians believe that Deuteronomy 18:18 is a prophecy of Jesus as being the PROPHET that God prophesied to raise up from among the brethren of the children of Israel.
And Muslims believe that Deuteronomy 18:18 is a prophecy of their prophet Muhammad that God raised up among the brethren of Ishmael that are ALSO the brethren of the children of Israel.
But the offspring of Ishmael are NOT the children of the PROMISE that God gave to Abraham in Genesis.
So then, who is right and who is wrong, the Christians, the Jews, or the Muslims?
Before we get into what the Bible ITSELF actually teaches concerning WHO the TRUE Prophet is that Moses prophesied in Deuteronomy 18:18, let us take a look at what some Muslim scholars are saying.
Some Muslims scholars know full well that they do NOT know which verse in the Torah speaks of Muhammad or which verse in the gospel speaks of Muhammad.
Here is a quote taken from the Muslim website linked above regarding a question from a Muslim asking where in the Bible are the prophecies of Muhammad.
“The short answer.
The Quran tells us:
And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said: O Children of Israel! I am the Messenger of Allah (sent) to you, confirming the Torah (which came) before me, and giving glad tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad.
But when it came to them with clear signs, they said, “This is evident sorcery.” (Quran 61:6)
What is important here is that Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) says quite clearly that the Torah given to Prophet Moses mentions the coming of Jesus and the coming of a messenger after Jesus.
This is all that we are told.”
Or more correctly, Quran 61:6 is “interpreted” by Muslims to mean that Jesus clearly says that Moses mentions ANOTHER messenger AFTER Jesus.
But in TRUTH, Moses prophesied of ONE Prophet that Almighty God Himself would raise up AND Moses ALSO prophesied of OTHER messengers that would come with FALSE messages that Almighty God Himself did NOT put His words in their mouth.
So then, Muslims need to ask themselves, is Allah DECEIVING Muslims, seeing that the Quran says that Allah is the BEST of the DECEIVERS, according to Quran 3:54 and several other verses in the Quran.
Here is another quote from that same Muslim website
linked above. The emphasis is mine.
“Returning to your question, then, the Quran tells us that Prophet Muhammad’s coming was foretold in the Torah, but it doesn’t tell us what was said.
For us to go to books in the existing Old Testament of the Bible and say that this verse or that verse is a prophecy of the coming of Muhammad seems to me to be going beyond what we have been told.
We have been told of his coming, but not given specific references to where we are told.
In other words, the exact words of such prophesies may no longer exist today.
I do not believe that we can quote from the Bible and say that such and such a quotation is evidence. To do that would be to quote from a source which we believe to be corrupted over time.
It would destroy our argument that the book is corrupted if we quote from it.”
And Christians agree with this Muslim scholar. It is not logical to argue that the Bible is CORRUPTED, and then turn right around and quote from a so-called corrupted book to try and prove that Muhammad’s book is inspired by Almighty God to supposedly correct the so-called corrupted Bible.
Muslims ALSO argue that Christians do NOT believe that Jesus is a PROPHET of Almighty God, but rather, Muslims who use that argument imply that ALL Christians teach that Jesus is Almighty God Himself.
And that is the number one ERROR that some Muslims make, they WRONGLY believe that ALL Christians believe that Jesus is Almighty God Himself in the flesh.
And, therefore, those Muslims ASSUME that NO Christians believe that Jesus is a Prophet of Almighty God.
Now, while SOME Christians do indeed WRONGLY believe that Jesus is Almighty God Himself in the flesh, they ALSO believe that Jesus called himself a PROPHET of God, according to Matthew 21:11, Mark 6:4-6, Luke 24:19-28, John 4:19-26,44, John 6:14,15, John 7:40-43, and Acts 3:22-26.
So then, to all Muslims who read this Verse Study, please know and understand that NOT ALL Christians WRONGLY believe that Jesus is Almighty God Himself in the flesh.
But rather, many Christians, like myself, believe that the Spirit of Almighty God the Father DWELT in the HUMAN Son of God, Jesus, according to John 14:10.
And we believe that God Himself reconciled the world to Himself by dwelling in His Messiah, Jesus, ANOINTED.
2 Corinthians 5:18-21.
“And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2 Corinthians 5:19. To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:20. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be YOU reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:21. For He has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
It was Almighty God the Creator, who chose HOW He would RECONCILE mankind back to Himself.
And Almighty God CHOSE to forgive us of all our sins by our BELIEVING that Jesus BORE our sins FOR us when he obeyed his God and Father to suffer and die on the cross for our sins.
1 Corinthians 1:18-21.
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthian 1:19. For it is written, (In the prophecies in the Old Testament in Isaiah 29:14, and Jeremiah 8:8,9) I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
1 Corinthian 1:20. Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
1 Corinthians 1:21. For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it PLEASED God by the foolishness of PREACHING to save them that BELIEVE.”
And thus, all people who REJECT Almighty God’s offer to be forgiven of all their sins will be cast into the lake of fire to be destroyed on the final Day of Judgment.
So then, I IMPLORE all Muslims, all Jews, and all other people who have NOT yet believed in Jesus as God’s ATONEMENT for their sins to repent of their sins right now. Ask Jesus to forgive you right now.

For those of you who KNOW that you are already saved and for those of you that are TRULY SEEKING the TRUTH concerning WHO the PROPHET is that Moses said that God would raise up, here is what the Bible ITSELF teaches us.
We will first cover the verses that prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that Jesus is a Prophet of Almighty God.
John 6:14.
“Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth THAT PROPHET that should come into the world.”
In other words, the men who WITNESSED the miracles that God did through Jesus, they said, this is TRULY THAT PROPHET that is prophesied in the Scriptures that should come into the world.
But yet, Muhammad did not do any miracles of healing people by the power of Almighty God like Jesus did.
And in John 4:6-29 we learn that Jesus is a PROPHET and that he is ALSO the Christ that was prophesied to come.
And thus, we see that the PROPHET and the CHRIST are one and the SAME person who was prophesied to come.
But yet, if Muhammad was a prophet of God, which most Christians do NOT believe, all Musliam know and understand that Muhammad is NOT the Christ.
Then in the same chapter in John 4:44, Jesus himself says that he is a PROPHET by saying that a prophet is not received in his own country.
John 4:42-44.
“And said unto the woman, Now, we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and KNOW that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world. (Now, Muslims say that they believe that Jesus is the Christ.
But they deny that Jesus is the Savior of the world. Muslims do not believe that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the world.
Muslims claim that Christians abrogated or added the teachings that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the world)
John 4:43. Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee. (The hometown of Jesus is in Galilee.
So be sure to read the accounts in the other three gospels that I will link below where Jesus testified that he is a PROPHET that was not received in his own home town)
John 4:44. For Jesus himself testified, that a PROPHET has no honor in his own country.”
So then, when you read the CONTEXT in the following verses, then you can see that Jesus could NOT do any mighty works of healing in his OWN country because of their UNBELIEF.
In other words, some of those who knew Jesus growing up did not believe that he was a PROPHET of God.
But their unbelief does NOT prove that Jesus was not THAT PROPHET who was prophesied by Moses to come.
Again, if you are a Muslim that is TRULY seeking the TRUTH, then please read the context of Matthew 13:57,58, Mark 6:4-6, and Luke 4:21-36.
Many of the Jews during the ministry of Jesus did indeed believe that Jesus was that Prophet who would be the Christ, according to John 7:37-41.
But obviously, not ALL of the Jews believed that Jesus was the chosen one prophesied in the Old Testament Scriptures to come.
Again, their unbelief does not prove that Jesus was not a Prophet of Almighty God.
John 7:37-41.
“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
John 7:38. He that BELIEVES on me, as the Scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
John 7:39. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
John 7:40. Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.
John 7:41. Others said, (Or MORE of the people AGREED that Jesus was THE Prophet prophesied to come and ALSO said) This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?”
In other words, some believed that Jesus was indeed a Prophet, but they doubted that Jesus was the Christ.
God foretold that some of the Jews would DOUBT that Jesus is the Prophet that He would raise up from among the people.
And God did that so that He could give His covenant to the Gentile people ALSO. And God did that in order to provoke the unbelieving Jews to jealousy so that the remnant of the Jews will believe when Jesus returns to rule as the King over the whole earth, according to Isaiah 11:11-16 and many other passages of Scripture.
After Jesus was resurrected from the dead, he appeared to two of his disciples that thought for sure that Jesus was the one who would DELIVER them from the oppression of the Romans.
Jesus then opened their eyes to understand the Scriptures and he began with the prophecies of Moses and then all of the other prophets.
For you see, even the very disciples of Jesus did not fully understand that the prophecies in the Scriptures spoke of the Messiah suffering and dying on the cross for their sins, until Jesus explained those prophecies to them.
Please read Luke 24:14-27.
“And they talked together of all these things which had happened. (Speaking of Jesus being crucified three days ago, wondering WHY their Messiah was put to death.
They did not yet understand the SCRIPTURES until Jesus explained Isaiah chapter 53 and all of the other prophecies which testified of him as being the Prophet who would be the Messiah)
Luke 24:15. And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, (About their Messiah DYING on the cross, which they did not yet understand was prophesied to happen in the Scriptures) Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
Luke 24:16. But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
Luke 24:17. And he (Jesus) said unto them, What manner of communications are these that you have one to another, as you walk, and are sad? (They were sad because it APPEARED to them that their Messiah had been KILLED forever and their hopes of being delivered were lost.
Again, the disciples of Jesus THOUGHT that the leaders of the Jews had WON by having the Romans crucify their Messiah.
They did not understand the prophecies that God would raise the Messiah from the dead and give him ETERNAL LIFE and SET Jesus on His throne to rule as God FOR Almighty God in the NAME of the Creator during the world to come for 1000 years)
Luke 24:18. And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Are you only a stranger in Jerusalem, and have not known the things which are come to pass there in these days? (In other words, everyone in Jerusalem and in the surrounding cities KNEW that a man named Jesus of Nazareth was CRUCIFIED and that he said he was sent by God to be the Christ, which mean the Messiah, the anointed one of Almighty God)
Luke 24:19. And he (Jesus) said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a MAN, a mighty prophet in deed and word before God and all the people:
Luke 24:20. And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him (To the Romans in authority) to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
Luke 24:21. But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
Luke 24:22. Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulcher;
Luke 24:23. And when they found NOT his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
Luke 24:24. And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulcher, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not. (Again, they wondered why Jesus told them that he would be raised from the dead after three days, why his body was gone.
But yet, they could not find Jesus like the women said that they saw Jesus ALIVE after being crucified and his dead body laid in the tomb)
Luke 24:25. Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe ALL that the prophets have spoken: (And some of the Jews and the Muslims of today in our time are slow of heart to believe ALL of the Bible)
Luke 24:26. Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his GLORY? (According to the Scriptures in Isaiah chapter 53:1-12, Isaiah 22:1-31, Psalm 69:1-36, and many other prophecies)
Luke 24:27. And beginning at Moses (Most likely, Jesus began in Deuteronomy 18:15-19 seeing that in one of the first gospel messages, the Apostle Peter QUOTED Deuteronomy 18:15-19 in Acts 3:22-24, which we will read in a moment) and ALL the prophets, he EXPOUNDED unto them in all the Scriptures the things CONCERNING HIMSELF.”
Clearly, Jesus himself said that he was that Prophet who would be the Christ that was prophesied in the Scriptures to come to suffer and die for the sins of the world.
And the Apostles of Jesus continued to teach this truth throughout the New Testament.
In Acts 3:22-24, the Apostle Peter makes it blatantly clear that Jesus is THAT PROPHET whom MOSES prophesied would come.
And in Acts 7:37,52, the disciple of Jesus named Stephen CONFIRMED that it was Jesus of Nazareth who was THAT PROPHET, the JUST ONE that Moses prophesied would come beginning in Acts 6:14 and continuing all the way through Acts 7:1-52.
Both Peter and Stephen are preaching about Jesus and NOT some other prophet who would SUPPOSEDLY come after Jesus to fulfill Deuteronomy 18:15-19.
But yet, some Muslims wrongly “INTERPRET” Acts 3:21-24 to mean that it is impossible for Jesus to be THAT Prophet that Moses prophesied that God would RAISE UP among the brethren.
Muslims argue that Jesus must remain in heaven until his return, and therefore, to THEM, Jesus cannot be that prophet quoted by Peter in Acts 3:24.
Let us read that passage of Scripture so that you can see how some Muslims try to TWIST the word of Almighty God to try to prove that Muhammad was prophesied to come in the Bible.
God warns us as Christians to TRY the “spirits” to see if they are of God or if they are of Satan.
So, Muslims need to ask themselves, did Muhammad TRY the spirit that CLAIMED he was the angel Gabriel to SEE if it was TRULY the angel Gabriel or if it was an EVIL spirit masquerading as a messenger of Almighty God?
Acts 3:18-26.
“But those things, which God before had shown by the mouth of ALL His prophets, that Christ should suffer, he has so fulfilled.
Acts 3:19. Repent you therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, WHEN the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; (All of our PAST sins are blotted out the very moment that we believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. And we are called to walk in righteousness.
So, the sins we commit during our walk with Jesus will not be judged until the COMING of Jesus. And if we CONFESS our sins, then we WILL be found worthy at the coming of Jesus.
For you see, according to 1 John 1:9,10, God is faithful to forgive us of ALL of our sins and CLEANSE us from ALL unrighteousness.
And thus, ALL of our sins will be blotted out and we will be given eternal life to rule with Jesus in the world to come)
Acts 3:20. He shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: (This is speaking of the RETURN of Jesus. God had ALREADY raised up that Prophet prophesied in Deuteronomy 18:15-19.
Moses did NOT say that God would raise up TWO Prophets who would be like him.
So then, Muslims must DENY completely that Jesus is NOT a Prophet of God in order for their prophet Muhammad to be the fulfillment of Deuteronomy 18:15-19, which Peter CLEARLY says that Jesus is THAT Prophet in the following verses)
Acts 3:21. Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of ALL His holy prophets since the world began. (Peter specifically states TWO times that Jesus is the FULFILLMENT of ALL of the prophets of God.
And then, Peter quotes just ONE of the prophets of God as just one EXAMPLE)
Acts 3:22. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall you hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
Acts 3:23. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will NOT hear that prophet, shall be DESTROYED from among the people. (Peter is quoting Deuteronomy 18:19 here in verse 23. “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.”
And what God REQUIRES of those who reject the words of Jesus is the SECOND DEATH in the lake of fire on the final Day of Judgment.
So, I IMPLORE all Muslims to choose wisely as to WHICH Prophet is the TRUE Prophet that Moses prophesied would come in Deuteronomy 18:15-19.
For it is YOUR very ETERNAL LIFE that is at stake if the Bible is TRUE and the Quran is just a book written by a man that was deceived by an evil spirit)
Acts 3:24. Yea, and ALL the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have LIKEWISE foretold of THESE days. (Again, to all Muslims and Jews who are reading this study in God’s word, Peter is talking about the DAYS that he himself witnessed, the days that Peter lived in.
Jesus himself EXPOUNDED or explained ALL of the Scriptures BEGINNING at MOSES and said that the Scripture spoke of him as being the one prophesied to come. And Jesus does not LIE.
The Bible has NOT been corrupted like some Muslim scholars CLAIM. Do NOT be deceived by the LEADERS of the religion of Islam. Your very eternal life is at stake)
Acts 3:25. You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in your seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. (And according to Galatians 3:16-29, WHOSEVER of any person in the whole world who BELIEVES in Jesus as their Lord and Savior ARE the SEED of Abraham.
Now, Muslims believe their Quran when it says that God told the angel to bow down and worship Adam and all of the angels OBEY God to worship Adam except for Satan.
But yet Muslims REJECT the TRUTH in Acts 2:36 that Almighty God MADE Jesus, called the last Adam, to be Lord and King over the earth during the world to come)
Acts 3:26. Unto you first God, having raised up His Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.”
Now, there are SEVEN different points brought forth in the prophecy in Deuteronomy 18:15-19.
And in this particular Verse Study, we have only covered the FIRST point, which is that Almighty God would raise up a PROPHET.
Here are the SEVEN points.
Point #1.
God promised to raise up a PROPHET.
Point #2.
That Prophet will be LIKE Moses.
Point #3.
God would raise up that Prophet from among the BRETHREN of the children of Israel to whom Moses is speaking face to face with in Deuteronomy 18:15, and the SAME BRETHREN to whom Almighty God Yahweh is speaking ABOUT in Deuteronomy 18:17,19.
Point #4.
That Prophet will speak the words of Almighty God Yahweh that Yahweh the Creator Himself will put into his mouth.
Point #5.
All those who do NOT obey THAT Prophet, who will speak the words of Yahweh in the NAME of Yahweh, then it will be REQUIRED of Almighty God in the Day of Judgment.
Point #6.
Any prophet that presumes to speak a word in the name of Yahweh that Yahweh did NOT give to him to speak, then those false prophets shall die, speaking of the second death in the lake of fire on the final Day of Judgment.
Point #7.
How to KNOW if a prophet is NOT speaking the truth in the name of Almighty God Yahweh.
Again, we have already covered point #1 in this Verse Study.

Again, Jesus OBTAINED that he is more excellent than the angels by INHERITANCE after the cross, or WHEN he offered himself for our sins and was SEATED at the right hand of Majesty, according to Hebrews 1:3.
And WE are JOINT-HEIRS with Jesus to inherit everything that Jesus inherits, according to Romans 8:15-19, and John 17:13-26.
Now, SOME Christians in different church denominations, such as the Roman Catholic Church, sincerely, but wrongly believe in the FALSE doctrine of original sin.
And thus, they build their other man-made doctrines upon the false doctrine of every person being born with a so-called sinful NATURE.
And therefore, they wrongly conclude that ONLY Almighty God Himself can die for the sins of man.
But the TRUTH of the matter is that God CHOSE for a MAN to die for the sins of the world.
And that man’s name is Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah of Almighty God prophesied in the Bible, the TRUE word of Yahweh the Creator, the ONLY TRUE God in ONE person, that we call the Father.
So then, I pray that you can see that God was placed on the spot, so to speak, to make PEACE in the universe without being seen by the faithful angels as a UNJUST God to destroy His ENEMIES that waged a WAR against Him and against them.
Now, the Christadelphian Christians, as well as, some other church denominations, such as the Roman Catholic Church, sincerely, but wrongly believe in the FALSE doctrine or original sin.
And thus, they build their other man-made doctrines upon the false doctrine of every person being born with a so-called sinful NATURE.
So then, Book 8 Which FAITH is the TRUE FAITH?

The correct God intended UNDERSTANDING of God and His Son will make the Bible so much easier to understand.
For yow see. It you have the WRONG VIEW of God and His Son, then you will read that WRONG UNDERSTANDING into the Scriptures.
And thus, that “interpretation” of those verses of Scripture will NOT AGREE with the REST of God’s word.
And those contradictions cause CONFUSION!

And to me, the truth concerning who Jesus TRULY is, according to the Bible ITSELF, is the Biblical Unitarian view of Jesus.
Once Christians, Jews, Muslims, and even atheists understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands.
And after you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels.
Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become “a” Lord, “a” King, and “a” God, under and subject to his God and Father in order to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
