The 10 Best Scriptures that PROVE an OLD Earth!
Before we get into the Scriptures that absolutely PROVE an OLD earth, I want to quote the Young Earth Creationist Christians 10 best reasons or their so-called scientific and geological “evidences” for a young earth.

And here is a quote from that website listing their ten bests evidences for a young earth and a young universe.
And by young universe they mean 6,000 years old and not billions of years old.
The emphasis is mine. Also, I will place my comments right after each comment to briefly explain their argument and why it does not prove a young earth that is only 6,000 years old.
“The earth is only a few thousand years old. That’s a fact, plainly revealed in God’s Word. So we should expect to find plenty of evidence for its youth. And that’s what we find—in the earth’s geology, biology, paleontology, and even astronomy”

“Sea Salt, Erosion, and Sediments” from Earth’s Catastrophic Past1”
The YEC argument is that since there is very little sediment on the seafloor, then that proves a young earth, because an old earth would have much more sediment.
But a RESTORED earth that God RENEWED some 6,000 years ago would show the SAME very little sediment on the seafloor as an earth that was originally created some 6,000 years ago.
For you see, what God fixes, He does it VERY GOOD!
Therefore, very little settlement on the seafloor does NOT prove a young earth.
Thus, the PREVIOUS AGE of the earth could be billions of years old.
And here is Scripture #1 for my 10 SCRIPTURES as absolute proof for an OLD earth.
Job 8:8.
“For inquire, I pray you, of the FORMER AGE, and prepare yourself to the search of their fathers:”
Notice that God wants us to INQUIRE or ask Him about the FORMER or the PREVIOUS AGE of the earth.
Here is evidence #2 for the YEC argument for a young earth.

The YEC argument #2 is that the BENT rock layer, which they insist could ONLY be caused by a catastrophic flood that would soften the layers to be bent as their photos show.
And my argument against a young earth is that the Bible ITSELF teaches us that there was indeed a catastrophic FLOOD at the time that God FOUNDED the earth.
So, instead of the flood in the day of Noah causing the bent rock formations, it was the flood in Genesis 1:2 that caused the ALREADY existing mountains to have BENT rock formations.
Therefore, the FLOOD before the flood of Noah is absolute proof of the PREVIOUS AGE of the earth.
Thus, the earth is an OLD earth which could be billions of years old.
And here is Scripture #2 for absolute proof of an OLD earth.
Psalm 104:5,6.
“Who laid the FOUNDATIONS of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
Psalm 104:6. You COVERED it with the deep as with a garment: the WATERS stood ABOVE the MOUNTAINS.”
Here is evidence #3 of the YEC Christians for a young earth.

The YEC argument is that since this evidence proves that this fossil containing soft tissue could not be billions of years old, then ALSO the earth itself could not be billions of years old either.
And my argument against a young earth is why not? Why would it be impossible for there to be OLD fossils and YOUNG fossils?
Also, we know that both ICE and being buried with little to no oxygen preserves plant tissue and animal tissue from decaying.
So then, consider the AGE of the dinosaurs LASTING for billions of years.
Thus, there would be extremely old fossils and ALSO some extremely YOUNG fossils as well.
In other words, the young fossils would be just a little older than 6,000 years old.
Thus, this YEC evidence of YOUNG fossils does NOT prove a young earth.
Therefore, the PREVIOUS AGE of the earth could be billions of years old.
And here is my Scripture #3 that absolutely proves an OLD earth.
Psalm 8:4-6.
“To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David. O LORD our Lord, (Or more correctly translated in the LITERAL translation from the Textus Receptus, Yahweh Lords of us.
Also, the LITERAL translation of Psalm 8:1 says, Yahweh our Lords in the PLURAL, as in, TWO Lords with the SAME NAME. The first Yahweh ALWAYS existed as Creator Yahweh.
And Yahweh the Father GAVE His NAME to His HUMAN Son, Jesus, AFTER the cross and resurrection to be MADE a Lord, according to Acts 2:36 and Philippians 2:8-11) how excellent is Your NAME in all the earth! Who has set Your glory above the heavens. (In other words, the Son of MAN, Jesus, gave glory to his God and Father during his ministry.
And as a reward for the OBEDIENCE of the human Son of God, Yahweh gave Jesus a NEW NAME and MADE him Lord over the earth for 1000 years during the world to come, according to Acts 2:36, Isaiah 58:8, Hebrews 12:2, Acts 2:28, Psalm 21:6, and Psalm 17:15)
Psalm 8:2. Out of the mouth of babes and suckling have You ordained strength BECAUSE of Your enemies, that You might STILL the ENEMY and the AVENGER. (The strength that Yahweh ordained is the GIFT of the Holy Spirit and POWER from on high.
But in order to RECEIVE the gift of the Holy Spirit, a person must BELIEVE and RECEIVE Yahweh’s GIFT of RIGHTEOUSNESS by FAITH in His Son Jesus and what Jesus did for us on the cross)
Psalm 8:3. When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained; (Now, the reason that I highlighted the moon and the stars in green and in blue is because during a previous age of the earth ALL of the angels were GOOD angels.
And Yahweh SET or ordained some of His angels to become gods, or RULERS over different parts of the universe. And Lucifer was made a god of the earth.
However, Lucifer and one third of the “stars” or the angels rebelled and waged a WAR against Yahweh and the rest of the good angels.
And the moon is a FIGURE of Satan, the lesser light of the children of the NIGHT.
So then, consider the Elohim both the faithful gods and rebellious gods)
Psalm 8:4. What is MAN, that You are mindful of him? And the Son of MAN, that You visit him? (And, according to Isaiah 50:4-7, Yahweh visited the Son of MAN, Jesus, morning by morning to TEACH him that the Scriptures prophesied of him)
Psalm 8:5. For You have MADE him a little LOWER than the angels, (In other words, God created or made MAN and the Son of MAN, Jesus, LOWER or inferior to the angels) AND have CROWNED him with glory and honor. (To be made Lord over the earth for 1000 years during the word to come for a REASON.
And the reason for WHY God created a new species of beings called the HUMANS to be made a little LOWER than God’s previous creation of the angels is for God to JUDGE Lucifer, aka or also known as, Satan, guilty as charged.
And, according to Acts 17:29-31, Almighty God the Father will JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels, along with those disobedient to the Gospel, by the MAN who He ordained and raised from the DEAD)
Psalm 8:6. You made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet:”
Here is evidence #4 by the YEC Christians for a young earth.
For Additional Information:
This argument has nothing whatsoever to do with the AGE of the earth.
But rather, it argues that EVOLUTION does not fit what SCIENCE theorizes about the sun eventually burning out in the next 5.5 billion years.
So, to me, scientific theory based on other scientific theory is NOT evidence, rather, it is just THEORY put forth by scientists.
The FACT is that the Bible ITSELF says that the heavens and the earth will PASS AWAY with a great noise and the element will melt with fervent heat.
And I myself do not believe that it will take 5,5 billions years for this prophecy to be fulfilled.
I personally believe that the earth will pass away at the end of the 1000 year reign of Jesus, which could very well begin within ten years or maybe less.
Therefore, the PREVIOUS AGE of the earth could be billions of years old.
Here is my Scripture evidence #4 that absolutely proves an OLD earth.
Deuteronomy 4:32-39.
“For ASK now (Or more correctly translated, I pray or I beseech you to ASK Me) of the days that are past, which were BEFORE you, since (Or the REASON for) the day that God created MAN upon the earth, and ASK from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there has been any such thing as this great thing is, or has been heard like it? (In other words, God is beseeching us to ASK Him about the PREVIOUS AGE of the earth.
And ALSO ask Him about the ISOLENT thing of ONE SIDE of heaven being AGAINST the other side of heaven)
Deuteronomy 4:33. Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as you have heard, and live? (I contrasted “people” with the children of Israel to show that there were PEOPLE inhabiting the earth during a previous age BEFORE God created the humans.
The name Israel means he shall rule as God. In other words, the CHILDREN of Israel, the one who shall rule as God will rule and reign WITH him over the earth during the world to come.
And this is being done BECAUSE of the people during the previous age who waged WAR)
Deuteronomy 4:34. Or has God assayed to go and take Him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes? (In other words, did I, Yahweh, tell, teach, or command the PEOPLE in the previous age to go and take people from ANOTHER nation by using all of the devices of seducing, signs, wonders and to wage WAR?
NO! They corrupted themselves to make slaves of other people. And I did those things to set you free from the oppressor)
Deuteronomy 4:35. Unto you it (Speaking of all thing things that I did to set you free) was shown, that you might know that the LORD He is God; there is none else beside him. (Or more correctly translated, there is to be no more separation from him.
Now the him can mean no more separation from Yahweh.
Or it can mean no more separating because of the people, the fallen angels.
Or it can mean that in the new heaven and the new earth God will be ALL in ALL, as in, God will DWELL in ALL His people so that there will never again be any WAR)
Deuteronomy 4:36. Out of heaven He made you to hear His voice, that He might instruct you: and upon earth He showed you His great fire; and you heard His words out of the midst of the fire.
Deuteronomy 4:37. And because He loved your fathers, therefore, He chose their seed after them, and brought you out in His sight with His mighty power out of Egypt;
Deuteronomy 4:38. To drive out nations from before you greater and mightier than you are, to bring you in, to give you their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.
Deuteronomy 4:39. Know therefore this day, and consider it in your heart, that the LORD He is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.”
Or in the end after the final Day of Judgment, there shall be no more repeating of what took place during the previous age before I created man upon the earth.
And that is the TRUE sound Biblical God intended meaning of Deuteronomy 4:32, when it is correctly translated and correctly interpreted in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God.
Again, God beseeches us to ASK Him about the FORMER AGE.
Here is evidence #5 of the YEC Christians for a young earth,
5. Rapidly Decaying Magnetic Field
For Additional Information:
“The Earth’s Magnetic Field” from Earth’s Catastrophic Past 4”
Please know and understand that some scientist do NOT consider an Almighty God RESTORING the earth some 12,000 years ago and finishing that restoration some 6,000 years ago.
Nor does science consider Almighty God prophesying the earth PASSING away at the end of the 1000-year reign of Jesus.
Thus, all of this scientific arguing over the earth’s magnetic field does NOT prove a young earth.
And neither does it prove an old earth.
For you see, God can CHANGE anything He wants to change during each AGE of the earth.
Therefore, the PREVIOUS AGE of the earth could be billions of years old.
And here is Scripture evidence #5 that absolutely proves a PREVIOUS AGE of the earth that God judged and is still judging by using His righteous new creation as His WITNESSES.
Ecclesiastes 1:9-11.
“The thing that has been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 1:10. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? It has been already of old time, which was BEFORE us.
Ecclesiastes 1:11. There is no remembrance of former things; (Or there shall be no written record that will remain of the former things) neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come (Or neither shall there be any written record that will remain of the things of this present age) with those that shall come after.”
Now, most Christian know and understand about the fallen angels rebelling against God, but some do NOT.
And some Christians, namely the YEC Christians, believe that the entire universe is only 6,000 years old and that God created the entire universe in just 144 HOURS.
To me, that is asking unsaved people to have BLIND FAITH that is so mind boggling it goes against all human logic.
Thus, the YEC Christians do NOT have a good WITNESS that will draw people to have faith in Jesus.
But the sound Biblical TRUTH of an OLD earth billions of years old and a WAR in the universe as being the REASON for why God is temporarily allowing evil to exist in the earth is EASILY relatable to the unsaved.
Here is evidence #6 of the YEC Christians for a young earth.
6. Helium in Radioactive Rocks

Again, God makes CHANGES. Who knows how long God originally INTENDED the PREVIOUS AGE of the earth to last.
Also, using different ways to calculate the age of the earth only proves that one way shows some things to be young and only a few thousand years old.
While the other ways of dating the earth shows some things to be millions of years old.
But the FACT is that the Bible ITSELF states the REASON for creating man is BECAUSE of His ENEMIES.
And that means thats the angels existed BEFORE God RESTORED the earth in Genesis 1:3-31.
So then, because of the WAR between the angels, God’s hand was forced to bring an end to that war in the universe.
So, God overthrew the fallen angels and POUNDED the earth in His wrath BEFORE God RESTORED or recreated the earth and created the first man Adam some 6,000 years ago.
Therefore, the PREVIOUS AGE of the earth could be billions of years old.
And here is Scripture evidence #6 that absolutely proves a PREVIOUS AGE of the earth that God REQUIRES judgment.
Ecclesiastes 3:15-17.
“That which HAS BEEN is NOW; and that which is to be HAS ALREADY BEEN; and God REQUIRES that which is PAST.
Ecclesiastes 3:16. And moreover I saw under the sun the place of JUDGMENT, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
Ecclesiastes 3:17. I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.”
Here is evidence #7 of the YEC Christians for a youg earth.
7. Carbon-14 in Fossils, Coal, and Diamonds

Again, the two different types of dating the age of the earth actually PROVE both an OLD earth and a RESTORED earth that God fixed between 12,000 years and 6,000 years ago.
A young earth would ONLY have things that are LESS than 6,000 years old.
And an OLD earth will have things that could be billions of years old.
Therefore, if just ONE thing is proven by science to be OLDER than just 6,000 years old, then that scientific evidences AGREES with the Scriptures that the angels existed before the first human was created.
And the first human was created just 6,000 years ago.
Therefore, the PREVIOUS AGE of the earth could be billions of years old.
Here is Scripture #7 that absolutely proves a PREVIOUS AGE of the earth.
Luke 1:70.
“As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, which have been since the world began:”
The Greek word translated as “world” also means the AGE.
In other words, God has been speaking by the mouth of His holy prophets since the AGE began.
Let us read this verse from the Young’s literal translation.
“As He spake by the mouth of His holy prophets, Which have been from the AGE;”
And another meaning of the Greek word translated as “from” the AGE also means BECAUSE of the AGE.
In other words, BECAUSE of the AGE, speaking of the PREVIOUS AGE of the earth, God has been PROPHESYING His plan of salvation.
Here is evidence #8 of the YEC Christians for a young earth.

The YEC Christians argue that since the LIFESPAN of comets are only thousands of years old, then that proves that the earth can NOT be older than 6,000 years old.
Now, we know that STARS are still being born, produced, or created.
So, for the YEC Christians to argue that God does not create any more comets just to try to prove a YOUNG earth, is actually limiting God’s creative ability.
Plus, when I was in grade school, Pluto was a PLANET.
And now, science has CHANGED its view and suddenly, Pluto is no longer a planet.
So, I would not base my faith in church DOCTRINE on SCIENCE as being the EVIDENCE.
Therefore, the PREVIOUS AGE of the earth could be billions of years old.
And here is Scripture evidence #8 that absolutely proves a PREVIOUS AGE of the earth.
Titus 1:2 from the English Standard Version.
“In hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the AGES BEGAN.”
Here is evidence #9 of the YEC Christians for a young earth.
9. Very Little Salt in the Sea
For Additional Information:

The YEC argument is that if the earth was billions of years old then the salt level in the oceans would be much higher.
But again, this lack of salt be the SAME result of God RESTORING the earth some 6,000 years ago.
Also, God knows how to keep His earth REGULATED to provide the right environment for His creatures.
Thus, this so-called evidence from SCIENCE does NOT prove a YOUNG earth.
Did some scientist take a reading of the salt level 6,000 years ago? No!
So these THEORIES made by scientist are just that, they are THEORIES.
If you are going to teach church doctrine, the use the BIBLE as you evidence.
Using science to disprove science is not sound evidence.
Thus, none of these first nine so-called evidences do NOT prove a young earth.
Therefore, the PREVIOUS AGE of the earth could be billions of years old.
Here is evidence #10 of the YEC Christians to TRY to prove a young earth.
For Additional Information:
All that this so-called DNA evidence proves is that evolution is FALSE.
Thus, DNA that is billions of years old is the SAME and the DNA of today.
So, then, this evidence does NOT prove a YOUNG earth.
And neither does it prevent an OLD earth.
Therefore, the PREVIOUS AGE of the earth could be billions of years old.

And here is Scripture #10 that absolutely proves a PERVIOUS AGE of the earth.
Now, I myself only use science to support what the Bible ITSELF teaches.
So then, while it must be INTERPRETED that God created the entire universe just 6,000 years ago in 144 HOURS, the PREVIOUS AGE of the earth does NOT need to be “INTERPRETED”.
And thus, to me, it makes more sense to believe the FACTS stated in the SCRIPTURES, rather than being DECEIVED by the “interpretations” made by MEN.
With that being said, there are no less than these 10 best SCRIPTURES that to me absolutely PROVE an OLD earth and a PREVIOUS AGE of the earth.
In other words, there are MANY MORE passages of Scripture in the Bible the proves that the earth is ANCIENT in age.
So, I highly suggest that you read the more in-depth studies on ALL of these verses so that you can clearly see how they all tie together to reveal the TRUE Jesus and WHY God chose us to JUDGE the world and the angels.
