W-1. Is the ONENESS Pentecostal BELIEF BIBLICAL? 

This study is dedicated to all my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ. My purpose is not to offend any of my readers. Rather I desire to teach only the truth of the whole word of Almighty God. I have always strongly disliked when Christians tell other Christians that they are not saved simply because they do not agree on a church doctrine that has nothing to do with a salvational issue.

Now, to my Oneness Christians brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ. First, allow me to say that I am not a Trinitarian Christian but I am not a Oneness Christians either. If I were to place a “name” upon myself then I would say that I am a Biblical Unitarian Christian because what they teach on the subject of who Jesus is, does indeed resemble very closely what I teach on this subject. I would also like to say that I understand all that you are saying as a Oneness believer more than you know but to me, you only believe PART of the Bible.

I totally agree with you that the “word” in John 1:1 is NOT a separate person from God who was with the God at the God’s side in eternity past and that the word is God’s creative force. In other words, I totally agree with this PART of the Oneness teaching that there is but ONE TRUE God who created all things ALONE and by HIMSELF by using his SPOKEN word that came forth out from his mouth.

I understand that the Greek word “logos” translated as “Word” should have never been capitalized to deceive Christians into wrongly believing that the “logos” of God was a separate divine eternal being that was with God at his side from all eternity past.

God's word is a part of God himself so what God is, his word is. In other words, what God speaks out from himself as his spoken word then becomes what God spoke his word to be. When God spoke his word and said Light be then his spoken word became light. The spoken word light DESCRIBED the image in God's mind. God is Spirit and his word is Spirit. God would not be God to us without his spoken word. There would be no creation without God speaking forth his word out from his mouth to become what God has spoken his word to become. And without any creation, there would be no knowledge of God except for God himself knowing himself.

Now, if you agree with what the Bible itself teaches as to HOW God alone and by himself created all things then you will also agree that nothing that is created was created without God FIRST speaking forth his word out from himself or out from his mouth.  In other words, God does not THINK things into existence but rather God SPEAKS things into existence. To say this another way, the word itself does NOT do the SPEAKING and therefore it is Yahweh himself who speaks forth his OWN word out from his own mouth to create all things. And nothing that is created was created without the spoken word coming forth out from the mouth of Almighty God.

We read this in John 1:2,3.

“The same (Speaking of God's word, his logos, his saying, God's SPEECH and NOT a second separate person who was with God at his side) was in the beginning WITH (Or more correctly TOWARD) God.

3.  All things were made by HIM;(Or by IT referring to the SPOKEN word of God that came forth out from God’s mouth) and without HIM (Or without IT referring to the SPOKEN word that came forth out from God’s mouth) was not anything made that was made.”

If you click on the blue links they will give you the source or the website, or the Bible translation form which I use to support my comments of interpreting the words that I have emphasized. In verse 2, I emphasized the word “WITH” and said that it would be more accurately translated as the word “TOWARD” like the LITERAL Bible translation that I cite by the link I have provided.

And in verse 3, I have emphasized the word “HIM” and say that it would be more accurately translated as “IT” in my own opinion based upon the rest of God’s word. Here is a quote from the website that I have cited as a link. The emphasis is mine.

“Although οὗτος is declined in the masculine gender, some might assume that "the word" (ὁ λόγος) is a person, but οὗτος is simply agreeing with the grammatical gender of its antecedent, ὁ λόγος, a grammatically masculine gender noun. As such, unless it is absolutely certain that ὁ λόγος is referring to an animate object with gender (e.g., a male person), then the pronouns that refer to it would be translated by the neuter gender English pronoun "it."

The Personality of ὁ λόγος

The personality of ὁ λόγος is evident when we read that ὁ λόγος was θεός. Since only Yahveh, the creator, is θεός by nature, and ὁ λόγος must be θεός by nature because everything was created by means of ὁ λόγος (which must exclude ὁ λόγος from being created since something that does not exist cannot be used as the means by which it is created), then ὁ λόγος must be Yahveh, and thus a person. Therefore, it would be permissible to translate the pronouns οὗτος and αὐτοῦ by the English masculine gender pronouns "he/him" to accord with the personality (i.e., natural gender) of ὁ λόγος

Therefore, the word in John 1:1-3 must be INTERPRETED as being a separate person who was with the God at the Almighty God's side in eternity past in order for the pronoun HE to be assigned to the word as a PERSON rather than an IT. And likewise, the word must be INTERPRETED as NOT being a separate person who was with the God at the God's side in eternity past for the pronoun IT to be assigned to the words as NOT being a person.

So then, WHO made all things? Was it the word alone and by himself who made all things? Or was it Yahweh who alone and by himself made all things by SPEAKING forth his own word out from his own mouth?

Let us read Isaiah 44:24.

“Thus says the LORD (Or thus says Yahweh), your Redeemer, and HE (Speaking of Yahweh) that formed YOU from the womb, I am the LORD (Or I am Yahweh) that makes ALL things; that stretches forth the heavens ALONE; that spreads abroad the earth BY MYSELF;”

So then it was Yahweh ALONE and BY HIMSELF who created all things by SPEAKING forth his “logos” his saying, his spoken thoughts from WITHIN himself of what he desired to create. The word was made FLESH and it does not say that THE God was made flesh. It was the word in the form of God’s THOUGHT that was TOWARD or WITHIN Yahweh that was made to BECOME FLESH.

Do you truly and sincerely believe that the Bible ITSELF says that the word was made FLESH just as John 1:14 clearly and plainly states?

John 1:14.

“And the word (Speaking of the LOGOS, the SAYING, the SPOKEN word, the SPEECH that came forth out from God’s mouth) was MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, (Or the human being that Yahweh himself FORMED in the WOMB to be BORN of a woman dwelt among the Apostles and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

But WHEN did the Apostles of Jesus behold in GLORY? Jesus was not glorified of the Father until AFTER the cross which is WHEN the Son of man, Jesus, became the only begotten Son of God according to Acts 13:33.

“But God raised him from the dead:

31.  And he was seen many days (Or for forty days after God raised the Son of man, Jesus from the dead and gave him eternal life was seen) of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people. (The Son of man was highly exalted by the Father after the cross and this is WHEN they witnessed his GLORY, the glory AS the only begotten of the Father.)

32.  And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, (Speaking of the PROPHECIES of the Messiah)

33.  God has fulfilled the same unto us their children, IN THAT he has raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, You are my Son, THIS DAY have I begotten you. (So then, the very day that Almighty God Yahweh raised the Son of man, Jesus from the dead was the very day that the Son of man BECAME the ETERNALLY begotten Son of Almighty God. We read in Hebrews 1:5 which is also a quote of the PROPHECY in Psalm 2 in the FUTURE tense of one day God becoming a Father. “For unto which of the angels said he at any time, You art my Son,THIS DAY have I begotten you? And again, I WILL BE to him a Father, and he SHALL BE to me a Son?” All these verses teach us in simplicity that Yahweh did NOT have a Son, as in, an ETERNAL Son UNTIL God raised the Son of MAN from the dead and GAVE the Son of MAN to be having life in himself even as the Father has always had life in himself.)

34.  And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, (You see, the prophecy in Isaiah 9:6,7 says that a child will be born FIRST and then a Son will be given. It was the Son of MAN who was lifted up on the cross. And it was AFTER the cross that Yahweh HIGHLY EXALTED the Son of MAN to BECOME the FIRST BEGOTTEN from the dead never more to die again. And right NOW Jesus is the ONLY begotten Son of God. But at the second coming of Jesus, there will be many more eternally begotten sons and daughters of God. Jesus is the FIRSTBORN among many brethren.) he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

35.  Wherefore he said also in another psalm, You shall not suffer your Holy One to see corruption.

36.  For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:

37.  But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

38.  Be it known unto you, therefore, men and brethren, that through this MAN is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:”

Romans 5:11-21 clearly teaches us that by one MAN sin entered into the world and by one MAN came the free gift of salvation, the atonement, the resurrection of the dead to eternal life to those who believe.

God needed a MAN because God himself could not be tempted. Thus it is impossible for God himself to sin but the MAN Jesus anointed of God was tempted in all points like we are tempted but he overcame all temptation to not sin THROUGH the power of the ETERNAL SPIRIT who DWELT IN him.

Please read Hebrews 9:14.

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who THROUGH the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot TO God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”

Remember that Jesus said in John 5:19 that the Son could do nothing OF HIMSELF and it was the Father, who IS the eternal Spirit, who dwelt in him was the one who did the work. The eternal Father gave Jesus strength. He led him He taught him. He told him what to do. And everything the Son of MAN, Jesus, did was given to him to do BY Almighty God, Yahweh who alone is the Father.

Please read the whole context of John 5:19 by reading John 5:10-30 keeping verse 19 in your mind as you read the context both before and after the verse in question.

John 5:10-30.

“Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing OF himself, (Now if so be, that Jesus was fully Almighty God and fully a human being at the same time having two natures, one divine, and one human, then Jesus could have done all things OF HIMSELF. But that is NOT what the Bible ITSELF teaches us. The dual nature theory is the invention of the Roman Catholic Church. Do your own research on the Nicean Creed in 325 AD. The so-called dual nature of Jesus is NOT taught in the word of Almighty God, the Holy Bible. Jesus himself plainly states that he could do NOTHING OF HIMSELF) but what he sees the Father do: for what things soever he does, these also does the Son likewise. (So, whether in a dream or in a vision or through the leading of the eternal Spirit dwelling in Jesus, he simply obeyed the Holy Spirit and did what the Father was showing him to do. And this is what WE should be doing as well. Jesus said the SAME WORKS that he did we shall do ALSO.)

20.  For the Father loves the Son, (The Son must be a separate distinct person from the Father in order for the Father to LOVE the Son) and (The Father) shows him all things that himself does: and he will show him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

21.  For as the Father raises up the dead, and quickens them; even so the Son quickens whom he will. (Because the Father GAVE the Son of man all power and authority to raise the dead and give eternal life to whosoever believes that Jesus is the Christ, the ANOINTED OF God and the SON OF the living God.)

22.  For (Or BECAUSE) the Father judges no man but has COMMITTED all judgment unto the Son:

23.  THAT (Or SO THAT) all men should honor the Son, EVEN AS they honor the Father. (Now if so be there was just ONE being as the Oneness believers dogmatically demand, then how can we honor BOTH the Father AND the Son?) He that honors NOT the Son honors NOT the Father which has SENT him. (The Greek word translated as sent in the past tense literally reads the one SENDING him which is speaking of the SECOND coming of Jesus when God will bring his FIRSTBORN into the world at the return of Jesus to JUDGE just like we read in Hebrews 1:6 when all the angels shall worship him. Now if the writer intended to mean the past tense as the translator has translated as SENT in the past tense then it must be INTERPRETED as to WHEN Jesus was sent. Some Christians INTERPRET Jesus being SENT by the Father to mean that Jesus was sent down from heaven by the Father. While other Christians INTERPRET Jesus being SENT by the Father to mean that the Son of MAN was sent out into the world to preach the kingdom of God is at hand. Now to ME, since Jesus BECAME God’s eternal Son AFTER the cross. then I myself must conclude that there was NO SON of God pre-existing in eternity paste to be sent down from heaven. This is something that each of my readers and seekers of the TRUTH must work out for themselves. Again this is NOT an issue of salvation because the Bible ITSELF does NOT specifically state as a fact that in order to be saved we MUST believe that Jesus pre-existed as a separate person from Yahweh as his SON who was WITH Yahew at his side and whom Yahweh sent down from heaven to become a human being but yet remain the fully Almighty God Yahweh at the same time)

24.  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent (Or again the one SENDING) me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

25.  Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. (This is speaking of BOTH spiritual death AND physical death being changed from mortal to immortality. We do not actually obtain eternal life until the second coming of Jesus. So then, the “NOW” is speaking of being born again from “spiritual death” being raised to a newness of life in Jesus Christ to serve God in righteousness, And the “hour” that is COMING is speaking of the FIRST resurrection that will take place AT the SECOND coming of Jesus. Also, we must consider that this is BEFORE the cross. And therefore Jesus could have intended his words to mean that he was going to the cross where he would spend three days and three nights preaching the gospel to the dead spirits in the heart of the earth. Jesus preached to them so that the Old Testament saints could be saved and resurrected with Jesus to be taken to heaven under the altar of God to await their new glorified bodies. My main point is that the Son of man was GIVEN the power and authority to raise the dead and give eternal life to whomsoever he pleases.)

26.  For as the Father has life in himself; so has he GIVEN TO the Son TO HAVE life in himself;

27.  AND (Or at the same time the Father gave the Son of man the divine nature of immortality to be having in himself even as the Father has always possessed immortality in himself so ALSO the Father) has GIVEN him authority to execute judgment ALSO BECAUSE he is the Son of MAN. (Not because Jesus was the Son of God. Not because Jesus was God the Son. Not because Jesus was Almighty God himself manifest in the flesh. But rather BECAUSE Jesus was the Son of MAN. Jesus was a HUMAN being like all other human beings who suffer TEMPTATION which God cannot suffer because God cannot be tempted. So then, the Father GIVE his HUMAN Son all this power and authority BECAUSE he was the Son of MAN who OBEYED all the will of his God and Father. We read in Philippians 2:8-11 that it was AFTER the cross that the Son of man was HIGHLY EXALTED because he became OBEDIENT to do all the will of his God and Father even to suffer and die on the cross. And that is WHY Yahweh COMMITTED all JUDGMENT into the hands of the Son of MAN, Jesus.)

28.  Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

29.  And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

30.  I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine OWN will, but the will OF the Father which hath sent me.”

Jesus had his OWN WILL which he brought into obedience through the eternal Spirit DWELLING IN him to obey the WILL of the Father. I am sorry if this offends any of my dear Oneness believers but it is beyond mere common sense to dogmatically demand that ONE being can have two different wills. The Father CANNOT be TEMPTED to sin and therefore the WILL of the Father is always GOOD. But the Son was indeed tempted and therefore Jesus had to subdue his OWN WILL to NOT sin by giving in to the same temptations that tempt all human beings and bring HIS OWN WILL into the OBEDIENCE of his Father’s WILL. So clearly, the Bible ITSELF speaks of two separate persons where each person or being as each having their OWN WILL.

Jesus said to the one calling him as being GOOD and Jesus answered him saying, “Why do you call ME good? There is but one who is good and that is the Father.”

Please read Matthew 19:16,17.

“And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

17.  And he said unto him, Why call you me good? There is none good but one, that is, God: but if you will enter into life, keep the commandments.”

First, I want to point out that when some Christians see the word “COMMANDMENTS” in the New Testament their minds automatically think of the TEN COMMANDMENTS of God along with ALL the commandments that God gave to Moses to give to the children of Israel in the Old Testament under the Old Covenant. And therefore those Christians wrongly conclude that Christians MUST keep the law of Moses in order to receive eternal life in the world to come. Please read “>>>WHAT IS THE TRUE SABBATH?<<<” where I have listed all the studies concerning this subject of keeping the commandments of God but for now please understand that Jesus gave us NEW COMMANDMENTS to follow and obey written in the NEW TESTAMENT.

You see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, Jesus, who was born under the law of Moses had to learn to OBEY what the law of Moses taught. BUT Jesus ALSO had to learn what Yahweh was leading and guiding him to do. Yahweh never left Jesus alone after he ANOINTED the Son of man at his baptism.  The Bible says that the Holy Spirit came and REMAINED on him. Yahweh was always WITH Jesus by his eternal Spirit dwelling IN him. The SAME eternal Spirit who NOW dwells in us as believers in Jesus as the CHRIST, the SON OF the living God, the atonement of our sins.

So then, Jesus being ANOINTED BY Yahweh is the doctrine of CHRIST. And we are warned in 1 John 2:1-4 and 2 John 1:7-11 that if we deny that Jesus was ANOINTED or that the ANOINTING came in the flesh then we are antiChrist. In other words, Christians who wrongly teach that Jesus was fully Almighty God and fully a human being at the same time having TWO natures are, in fact, teaching against the ANOINTING who DWELT IN Jesus. And thus they are misleading Christians to wrongly believe that everything Jesus did he did by his OWN power. But as you have seen from God’s word that Jesus could do NOTHING OF HIMSELF and it was the ANOINTING dwelling IN him who was the one doing the works.

Before the Son of man was ANOINTED with the Holy Spirit and with power the Holy Spirit did not dwell IN any man. But rather the Holy Spirit was WITH the prophets of God, coming and going, as the Spirit willed. The Holy Spirit never remained upon any man the whole time. For example, take a look at Elijah who was bold and fearless WHILE the Spirit of the Lord was UPON him. But when the Spirit left him and was not upon him he was a scared puppy dog, so to speak, and ran off and hid. Now, we get scared at times too but the Holy Spirit dwelling IN us as Christians will comfort us.

Jesus told his disciples in John 14:16,17 that the Holy Spirit was WITH them but later the Holy Spirit shall be IN them. The disciples teach us that WE are the temple of God and that God DWELLS IN us in 1 Corinthians 3:16,17 and 1 John 4:12-16. So, the SAME ANOINTING who dwelt in Jesus now dwells in us to empower us to live without sin and do the same works Jesus did through the eternal Spirit dwelling in him.

Getting back to John 1:1-14 where it states that the word was made FLESH, what was it that BECAME FLESH? Oneness believers say that God Himself became flesh because John 1:1 says that the word WAS God. I agree with their INTERPRETATION up to a certain point because the word is Spirit and there is only one Spirit and God is that one eternal Spirit. And we know that it is Spirit that quickens or gives life and that the words Jesus spoke are Spirit. So, in that sense, the SPOKEN word of God is alive or living. BUT it is Yahweh alone who is the source of all life, being THE eternal SPIRIT who speaks forth WORDS out from His mouth that is Spirit. But always keep in mind that God SPEAKS all things into existence with His spoken word which is SPIRIT. And when the word which is SPIRIT becomes a TREE do we dogmatically demand that a tree REMAINS fully God and is a tree at the same time? But it is SPIRIT that gives LIFE to a tree. Have you ever considered the possibility that John may have intended his words to mean that in a beginning was the word and the word was with the ONLY TRUE God and a God was the word of PROPHECY? In other words, the IMAGE that God had WITHIN Himself in a new beginning and not in the very beginning creation itself was to have another God who would rule FOR Him in the first dominion speaking of the world yet to come. Please read the study “JOHN 1:1 THE WORD WAS GOD”. But for now, let us continue with this study in God's word.

John 6:63.

“It is the spirit that quickens (Or it is the eternal Spirit who gives life); the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

Jesus ONLY spoke the words that Yahweh HIMSELF gave him to speak and Jesus says that those words of TEACHING that he spoke to his disciples are Spirit and they are LIFE. So the word of Yahweh is living Spirit which quickens or gives life to all living things. There is life in the SPOKEN word of God. This is why Jesus is called the word of life. Jesus is the spoken word of God made ALIVE. Yahweh spoke his word of prophecy and those spoken words of prophecy were FORMED in the womb of Mary to BECOME FLESH.

So then, here is the problem that I myself see with the Oneness belief. The Oneness Christians teach that God himself became flesh rather than God's SPOKEN word became flesh because they INTERPRET John 1:1 where the word was God as being the word was THE God, as in, The word was one and the self-same being as Yahweh himself. And therefore they see and understand that Jesus was one and the self-same being as the Father, in that, the Father “manifested” himself to become flesh. In other words, the Oneness believers INTERPRET John 1:1-14 as Yahweh himself becoming a human being but yet remaining the fully Almighty God himself at the same time. And thus Jesus had to have TWO natures at the same time, one human and one divine.

However, the Bible itself teaches us that the Father was IN heaven at the same time that Jesus was on the earth.

Matthew 7:21.  

“Not everyone that says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of MY Father which is IN heaven.”

Matthew 10:32.  

“Whosoever, therefore, shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is IN heaven.”

Matthew10:33.  

“But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before MY Father which is IN heaven.”

Matthew 12:50.

“For whosoever shall do the will of MY Father which is IN heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”

Matthew 16:17.

“And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood has not revealed it unto you (That I am the Christ, the Son OF the living God), but MY Father which is IN heaven.”

Matthew 18:10.

“Take heed that you despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of MY Father which is IN heaven.”

Matthew 18:19.  

“Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of MY Father which is IN heaven.”

Jesus himself said that his Father was IN heaven. And Jesus also said that his Father was IN him.

John 14:10,11.

“Believe you NOT that I am in the Father and the Father IN me? the words that I speak unto you I speak NOT of MYSELF: but the Father that DWELLS IN me, HE does the works.

11.  Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father IN me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.”

This is the SAME CONTEXT where Jesus tells his disciples that if they have seen him then they have seen the Father also. Jesus was NOT saying that he himself was the Father. But rather Jesus is saying that when they saw the WORKS Jesus did through the power of the Father DWELLING IN him then what they saw was the true character of the Father because the Father was WITH the Son of man by DWELLING IN the Son of man. The fullness of the Godhead DWELT IN Jesus, the Son of man, AFTER the CROSS. During the MINISTRY of Jesus, it was the ANOINT of the Holy Spirit who dwelt in Jesus to empower him to overcome sin and heal the sick. Jesus could do NOTHING OF HIMSELF the same as we can do nothing of ourselves. It is the Holy Spirit IN us who does the works.

Jesus always spoke of the Father in language that can only be understood as the Father being a separate being from himself. The Father is GREATER than I. No one is good but the Father and many more verses that clearly teach us that Jesus is NOT the Father. Please read the study “VERSES THAT PROVE THAT JESUS IS NOT THE FATHER!”. But for now, let us continue with this study in God’s word.

So WHEN the spoken word BECAME FLESH that is WHEN Jesus became a SEPARATE person from the Father.

My point is that God is not a man and neither is he the Son of man according to Numbers 23:19.

“God is NOT a MAN, that he should lie; neither (Is God) the son of man, that he should repent: has he said, and shall he not do it? Or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

And every Christian must admit that the BODY of FLESH was CREATED by the spoken word of God. The body of flesh was FORMED in the womb of the Virgin Mary. So the question to my Oneness brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ is this. Were there TWO separate distinctly different persons dwelling in the body of FLESH of Jesus? Or was it just Yahweh alone and by himself dwelling in the body of the flesh of Jesus.

Now, Oneness believers argue that God himself became flesh. And thus they argue that Jesus was fully God in the flesh. Thus to the Oneness believers, this means that God himself dwelt in a human body that he made or formed in the womb of the Virgin Mary by his spoken word which he ALONE dwelt in. In other words, they INTERPRET God’s word as meaning that God made himself a BODY to dwell in, and thus that body was an EMPTY shell having NO spirit and thus NO WILL of its OWN.

Oneness Christians use 1 Timothy 3:16 to say that God “manifested” himself to become flesh. But in truth, the Scripture itself says, “God manifest in the flesh”. And to most Christians, this means that Jesus showed us or revealed to us, as in, Jesus manifestly DECLARED to us the identity of the one true God as being the Father, according to John 17:1-3. And most Christians believe that Jesus gave us an understanding of the one true God's nature and character by the WORKS he did THROUGH the power of eternal Spirit dwelling IN him which was the Father

Getting back to John 1:1-14. If God himself became flesh as opposed to God's SPOKEN word became flesh like the Bible itself teaches, then that would mean that ALL of God became flesh. And IF SO BE that that were true, then Jesus would indeed be THE ONLY TRUE God and the Father HIMSELF in the flesh. And that would mean that DURING the days of GOD’S flesh, God was no longer omnipresent because flesh can only be in one place at a time.

Bet yet the clear sound Biblical evidence of the whole word of God teaches us that the Father was IN heaven AND also DWELLING IN the Son of MAN at the SAME time.

So then, to me, it was not God himself who became flesh but rather it was a PART of God called his WORD that became flesh. NOT that the word was a second person who was with God at his side in eternity past but rather that word not yet spoken was an IMAGE of a MAN in God's MIND and PLAN of salvation. And that image in God’s mind and plan of salvation which God SPOKE forth from out of his mouth would one day bring forth that IMAGE which was WITHIN God.

You see, God watches over his spoken word of prophecy to perform it. What God SPEAKS forth from out of his mouth he performs to come into a MATERIAL existence. And then this MAN that God FORMED in the womb of the Virgin Mary to be BORN of a woman as a CHILD would grow up to one day manifestly DECLARE who the ONLY TRUE God is by the WORKS that the MAN did THROUGH the power of the ONLY TRUE God who DWELT IN him. Clearly, the Bible teaches us that Jesus gave GLORY to the Father which again proves that Jesus was NOT the Father. We will come back to this shortly.

For now, let us take a look at 1 Timothy 6:13-16 that teaches us that in his TIMES, speaking of the first and second coming of Jesus, that Jesus will SHOW us WHO is the ONLY Potentate or the who is the only sovereign or only Almighty God, who ONLY has always had immortality in himself.

You do agree that there can ONLY be ONE TRUE God.

You do agree that there can ONLY be ONE God who ALONE is the HIGHEST God. And thus the ONE TRUE God ALONE is the ALMIGHTY God.

But where Oneness Christians and also Trinity believing Christians do NOT agree is that the Bible ITSELF teaches us that Jesus BECAME a God who is under and subject TO his God and Father. And I believe that the reason that neither Oneness believer and Trinty Believer do not accept what the Bible itself teaches is their line of REASONING. BOTH groups of Christian, reason that the Father is called God AND the Son is ALSO called God but the Bible teaches that there is only ONE God. And thus in their minds, they cannot seem to comprehend how there can be TWO Gods.

Just think this through for yourself. Why would Jesus clearly identify the FATHER as the ONLY TRUE God? I mean why even ADD the word TRUE to the word God?  Why did Jesus say that the Father is the only TRUE God? Could it be that the Bible itself teaches us that there are indeed TWO Gods where Yahweh the Father is the ONLY TRUE God and Jesus is ANOTHER God whom Yahweh highly exalted to become a God that is under and subject to HIS God? In other words, there are not two TRUE Gods who are both without BEGINNING. But rather, the Father ALONE is the ONE and ONLY TRUE God in ONE person who has never had a beginning. And the Son OF God who indeed did have a BEGINNING was made to become a God under HIS God to rule FOR Yahweh for 1000 years in the world to come. Please read the study “ARE THERE TWO GODS?”. But for now, please understand that the word “God” is a TITLE just the same as the word “King” is a TITLE. So there are two separate distinctly different persons or beings who are each CALLED by the TITLE of God. And Yahweh the only TRUE God created and formed all things alone and by himself. And Jesus is a God formed BY Yahweh to be his Lord and King that will rule FOR Yahweh in the world to come for 1000 years.

So then, both Oneness believers and Trinitarians deny the Scriptures that clearly teach us that the Father is the God OF his Son Jesus, who DWELT IN Jesus. They deny that the ANOINTING came in the flesh of Jesus.

We can clearly see that Jesus is CALLED God in Hebrews 1:8 but yet Oneness believers, as well as Trinitarian believers, deny that the Father is HIS God. This is clearly stated as a fact with no interpretation needed in the very next verse, Hebrews 1:9. Let us read Hebrews 1:1-9 so that we can get the bigger picture of WHEN the Son of man became a God to rule and reign FOR Yahweh the one true God while Yahweh RESTS during the seventh 1000 year long day of the Lord.

Hebrews 1:1-9.

“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, (So in the Old Testament, God spoke to his people Israel through the prophets and the men of old wrote down what God spoke to them.)

2.  Has in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things (Now, it makes no sense for Almighty God to appoint himself to be the HEIR of what he already owns. So, clearly the Son is a SEPARATE distinct and different person from the Father), by whom (Or for whom or for the sake of whom) also he made the worlds;

3.  Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

4.  BEING MADE so much better than the angels (Remember that God made the Son of man, Jesus, a little LOWER and inferior to the angels, but AFTER the cross, the Son of man was highly exalted to be MADE HIGHER than the angels), as he has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. (The Son of man was GIVEN a name higher than all other names so that at his NAME, even the angels will bow their knee and worship him as the Lord of glory TO the glory of the Father.)

5.  For unto which of the angels said he at any time, You are my Son, THIS DAY have I begotten YOU? And again, I WILL BE to him a Father, and he SHALL BE to me a Son?

6. And again (Speaking of the SECOND coming of Jesus, which is when God will turn again to Israel a SECOND time), when he brings in the FIRST BEGOTTEN into the world, he says, And let all the angels of God worship him.

7.  And of the angels he says, Who makes his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

8.  But unto the Son he says, Your throne, O God, is forever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom. (In the next verse we can see WHEN the Son of man BECAME a God under his God and Father, Yahweh, who alone is the God OF Gods.)

9. YOU have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; THEREFORE (Or for this very reason of you loving righteousness and hating evil to obey all my will) God, even YOUR God, has anointed YOU with the oil of gladness above your fellows.”

God promised to GIVE PEOPLE to his Messiah, his servant, his anointed one.

Isaiah 43:4.

“Since you were precious in my sight, you have been honorable, and I have loved you: therefore (Since you have been honorable and precious in my sight with whom I am well pleased) will I give men for you, and people for your life.”

Jesus says in John 17:6 that those who come to God through his Son, are the Father’s and the Father gives them to his Son.

John 17:6.

“I have manifested your name (Father) unto the men which you gave me out of the world: yours they were, and you gave them me; and they have kept your word.”

I have tried my best to show all my Oneness brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ that while there was NO SECOND person who was with God at his side in eternity past there did indeed BECOME a second person INTO BEING AT the Virgin birth when the spoken word BECAME FLESH and dwelt among us. Yahweh himself alone FORMED the flesh in the womb of the Virgin Mary by SPEAKING forth his “LOGOS”, his speech out from his mouth. And the SPOKEN word of Almighty God BECAME flesh. Everything that God brings into existence was SPOKEN into existence.

The Apostles of Jesus were not saying that God himself became flesh but rather they were saying that the “living word” which came forth out from the mouth of Almighty God became flesh. They were saying that the SCRIPTURES were being fulfilled before their eyes. They were saying that they were an eyewitness to the FACT that they touched and handled the resurrected Son of man, the “word made flesh”, who dwelt among them. They were saying that Jesus is the ONLY begotten Son of God but please keep in mind that they also said that Jesus is the FIRSTBORN among MANY brethren. This means that UNTIL the second coming of Jesus that Jesus is the ONLY begotten Son. And THEN AT his coming we also shall be like Jesus for we shall see him as he is in all his glory which the Father GAVE to him.

So as soon as the word BECAME flesh, that spoken word became a SEPARATE person from God, that came forth FROM God but the word stripped itself of all its divine nature to take on human nature.

So Jesus was not just an ordinary man that God chose at random but rather God knew him before he was born. God formed him in the womb. God brought him forth into existence. God created a NEW THING in the earth.

Please read Jeremiah 31:32.

“How long will you go about, O you backsliding daughter? for the LORD has created a NEW THING in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.”

The angel, Gabriel, told Mary that that Holy THING in her womb would be CALLED the Son of the highest and the Son of God.

No matter what you think, the FLESH was created in the WOMB of the Virgin Mary by the SPOKEN word of God which came forth out from God. Jesus had his OWN WILL and the Father did not dwell in the Son of man UNTIL Jesus was baptized when he came to be 30 years old.

God is NOT a MAN and neither the Son of MAN. Jesus is the IMAGE OF the true God but Jesus did not become the image of God until AFTER the cross when the Father GAVE the Son of man eternal life in himself even as the Father has always been immortal.

So, to me, the analogy of Oneness believers saying that when we look into the mirror we do not see an IMAGE of a different person but rather we see our own image of ourselves to try and prove that Jesus is the Father does not hold water. That image in the mirror is a reflection of the one looking into the mirror. And if Jesus looked into a mirror I am quite sure that he would have seen a reflection of HIMSELF and NOT a reflection of the INVISIBLE Yahweh. Therefore. to me, Jesus reflected the true nature and character of God. Jesus denied his OWN WILL to reflect Yahweh's WILL. Jesus would not have been an IMAGE of God if he DISOBEYED his God and Father.

Again Hebrews 1:6 says.

“BEING MADE so much better than the angels, as he has by INHERITANCE obtained a more excellent name than they.”

And this did not happen until AFTER the cross when the Father HIGHLY EXALTED the Son of man to become a God under Yahweh to rule FOR Yahweh in the world to come.

We were created in the image of God by being created without sin and now God is conforming us BACK into His IMAGE which is also the image of His dear Son that He made perfect. And when we are found to be the good and faithful servant at the coming of Jesus then we shall also partake of the DIVINE NATURE of IMMORTALITY to become like Jesus.

This is what Genesis 2:1-3 means when God said let us make man in OUR image. There were NOT two separate being back in eternity past so the US does NOT speak of a so-called pre-existent Son, who was with God at his side in eternity past who created all things but rather speaks of the Son of MAN who was MADE PERFECT by the Father, as his reward for OBEYING his God and Father's WILL and NOT his OWN WILL.

Please read Hebrews 5:9.

“And being MADE PERFECT, he BECAME the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;”

The prophecy in Isaiah 9:6,7 speaks of both the first and second coming of Jesus.

And in that prophecy, we see that a BOY or a CHILD will be born FIRST and THEN we see that the Son is GIVEN. And then we see that in the world to come, the Son shall be CALLED the father of everlasting. The LITERAL translation reads he shall be called that father of the FUTURE. The truth of the matter is that AFTER the cross is when Yahweh GAVE the Son of man all power and authority to judge and give eternal life. And this is WHEN the Son of man BECAME the AUTHOR of ETERNAL LIFE, to as many as BELIEVE in him as the CHRIST, the SON OF the living God, who became the atonement for our sins and not only for our sins but also for the sins of the whole world.

Jesus said that the Son of MAN was lifted up and not that the Son of God was lifted up.

Now some Christians get very offended when I tell them that God himself did not die on the cross but rather it was the Son of MAN who was lifted up.

Some have argued that it was only the HUMAN nature who died on the cross without realizing that they are saying that a human being died on the cross and God did NOT die on the cross because they argue that it was ONLY the HUMAN nature of Jesus that died and NOT his eternal nature.

The TRUTH of the whole matter is that a REAL LIVING MORTAL HUMAN BEING suffered and died on the cross for our sins like it or not and I am sorry if that offends you.

The TRUTH of the whole matter is that Jesus did NOT do anything OF HIMSELF and of his OWN WILL but rather OBEYED his God and Father in everything that his God and Father asked, told, or commanded him to do. Jesus was given a CHOICE and he could have said NO to dying on the cross for our sins. He could have asked the Father to send a legion of angels to spare him from the shame of the cross but Jesus overcame his OWN WILL to OBEY the Father's WILL.

Now how you and other Oneness believers can see ONE person having separate two wills is beyond being logical. Yes, I understand perfectly that we have the will of our flesh and the will of our inner man but the will of our inner man must be conformed to the will of God. Before we became a new creature in Jesus Christ, both of our OWN wills were not subject to God's will.

You can try and argue that the will of Jesus was the will of his flesh but then WHOSE flesh was it? Was it God's flesh? Or was it the Son of MAN’S flesh? If you say that it was God’s flesh, then that would mean that God was a MAN and thus contradict God's own word that says that God is NOT a MAN and neither is God the Son of MAN.

All through the New Testament, we clearly see TWO separate beings. The Father SENDS or commissions the Son of man. God anoints the Son of man above his fellows. Then we see God REWARDING the Son of MAN after the cross. We see the Father highly exalting the Son of man, GIVING the Son of man also power and authority to judge and also GIVING the Son of man to have eternal life in himself, even as the Father has always possessed eternal life in himself. We see the Father GRANTING the Son of man to sit on his throne, at the Father's right hand. We see the prophecy in the Old Testament of the Messiah, the arm of the Lord, ruling FOR Yahweh in the world to come. And then in 1 Corinthians 15, we see the Son of MAN committing the kingdom of God back into his Father's hands, AFTER the 1000 years have ended.

But what we do NOT see in any of the verses in the Bible where Jesus disappears, returns back into the invisible God, or Jesus ceasing to exist and never heard or seen again.

Now, IF SO BE that Almighty God himself became flesh and REMAINED the FULLY, the Almighty God when the word became flesh, then that would mean that the word was ALL that God is and God would have ceased to exist IN Heaven.

But the Bible itself teaches us that when the word became flesh the word stripped himself to take on human nature to be tempted like all other men and that means that the word was no longer God. The word BECAME something else. The spoken word of God became FLESH. If by chance, God spoke his word and the spoken word became a tree, the word did not REMAIN the fully Almighty God having two natures, one divine and one the nature of a tree. The word became something else. The word became a tree void of any divine nature. The word did not REMAIN the fully Almighty God.

This is the same that that happened when the word BECAME FLESH. and did not REMAIN Spirit. In other words, the Son of MAN did NOT have a divine nature DURING the days of his FLESH. Yes, the word WAS God in the beginning, when the word was WITHIN the one and only true God before the word BECAME what God spoke his word to BE. Now we know what came to be and what came to be is the IMAGE OF the only true God who is a SEPARATE distinct person from Yahweh who came in the NAME OF Yahweh to manifestly DECLARE the Father to be the ONLY TRUE God.

So, now to all my Oneness brothers and sisters in the Lord as well as all my Trinity brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, I want you to search all the PROPHECIES speaking of Jesus to see if you can find any prophecies where God prophesied that Yahweh himself would become a human being but yet remain the fully Almighty God having two natures at the same time, one divine nature and one human nature.

That dual nature or two nature theory is a man-made doctrine invented by the Roman Catholic Church that became the Roman Catholic’s Church official dogma in 451 AD at the council of Chalcedon. And any Christian who rejected that doctrine or the DUAL NATURE was persecuted, called a heretic, banned from the church, exiled, and some even martyred for their steadfast faith in what they understood that the early church taught.

Jesus said that the gates of hell would NOT PREVAIL against the ROCK that he would build his church upon. And the rock was the revelation knowledge of the truth directly reveal to Peter and to us from the Father, that Jesus was the CHRIST, the ANOINTED OF God, the SON OF the living God.

Now when you study the Bible without religious glasses on and you are honest with yourself and with God, then you will see that Jesus did not become the eternal Son of God until AFTER the cross.

The only verse where the phrase divine nature is found in 2 Peter 1:4 which teaches us that WE shall be made partakers of the divine nature. And we learn from other verses, like 1 Peter 1:4, that our reward is eternal life, being changed from being mortal to become IMMORTAL.

Yahweh set a JOY before Jesus to endure the cross. And AFTER the cross, God highly exalted the Son of man.

Yahweh is the ONE and ONLY TRUE God who did all these things.

Yahweh formed a man in the womb of a woman.

Yahweh taught that man, Jesus, morning by morning as that man grew in stature and in favor with God.

Yahweh ANOINTED that man and sent him out into the world to preach what Yahweh put into his mouth to preach.

Yahweh performed his spoken word to make sure that that man fulfilled all the prophecies referring to him.

And AFTER that man learned obedience, to obey all his God and Father's will, THEN Yahweh gave that man eternal life.

But Yahweh did more than that for the Son of man. Yahweh HIGHLY EXALTED the Son of man by giving him a NAME that is higher than any other name.

Now the only NAME I know that is the HIGHEST name of all is the NAME YAHWEH. Almighty God surnamed his Messiah much like some fathers give their son their own name. I have a brother-in-law named Tom whose father is named Tom. And my brother-in-law Tom named his son Tom who also named his son Tom. And you have to judge by the context of the conversion to know which Tom that is being referred in that conversation.

The King James Version says that he, speaking of the Messiah, shall be CALLED the LORD our righteousness but we know that the word “LORD” in all caps is the four Hebrew letters, YHWH, which we translate as being Yahweh. So in the world to come, Jesus will be CALLED “Yahweh our righteousness” by us who receive eternal life at our Lord’s coming. And Jesus will also be CALLED the God of the whole by those on the surface of the earth in their mortal bodies who survive the wrath of God by repenting and calling upon the name of the Lord to be saved at his coming.

Jesus will be the Lord of the Sabbath. And if you understand this, then you will see that during the 1000 year long day of Yahweh, the Father will REST in that seventh 1000 year long day while his Son rules FOR him sitting on his FATHER'S throne.

Then, after that seventh 1000 year long day of the Lord, Jesus will commit the ruling of his Father's kingdom back into his Father's hands and Yahweh HIMSELF will create a new heaven and a new earth and come down to dwell with his NEW CREATION, created IN his Son Jesus, the Christ.

The disciples testified or witnessed to us that God was IN the Son of man, Jesus, the ANOINTED of God, reconciling the world to himself.

Please read 2 Corinthians 5:17-21.

“Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new.

18.  And all things (Or the ALL speaking of God NEW creation being created in Jesus Christ. The word “things” is not in the original Greek text. The LITERAL translation reads THE ALL) are of God, who has reconciled us to himself BY Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19.  To wit, that God was IN Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

20.  Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be you reconciled TO God.

21.  For HE (Speaking of Yahweh the ONLY true God) has made him (The Son of MAN Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God IN him.”

So then, Almighty God the Father is the savior who saved us THROUGH the Son of MAN named Jesus. The name Jesus means the salvation of Yahweh. Christ means the anointed one. God was IN the anointed one. Jesus was anointed at his baptism. Before his baptism, the Holy Spirit was with Jesus in the way that the Holy Spirit was with the prophets in the Old Testament. But we can see that Jesus began to be led by the Spirit in everything Jesus did AFTER his baptism by John the Baptist. That was when Jesus BEGAN his ministry. And that was when the Holy Spirit descended down from heaven to REMAIN on Jesus. That was WHEN God SENT his Son.

All of the Oneness believers quote Acts 2:4 and how the Holy Spirit dwells in us as believers in Jesus, but they seem to read right over Acts 10:38 and fail to see that God ANOINTED Jesus with the Holy Spirit and that it was the Holy Spirit who led Jesus to do good and heal the sick for God was WITH him by dwelling IN Him.

Acts 10:38.

“How God ANOINTED Jesus of Nazareth WITH the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; FOR (Or BECAUSE) God was WITH him.”

God was NOT with himself but rather God was WITH a SEPARATE person from himself by DWELLING IN the Son of MAN Jesus. This is the DOCTRINE of CHRIST which we are warned to hold fast to and to not be deceived by false spirits.

Let us now take a CLOSER look at the ANTICHRIST verses by reading the study “JESUS THE CHRIST!”.

Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become “a” Lord, “a” King, and “a” God, under and subject to his God and Father in order to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
