C-8. Is Jesus ALMIGHTY God HIMSELF in the FLESH?
In order to answer this question with a SOUND BIBLICAL answer, we need to know the answer to a couple of other questions first. So let us begin this study in God's word by asking perhaps the simplest question of all to answer. For you see, it is quite obvious and apparent to almost every Christian as to what the indisputable and undeniable answer is to the following question.
IS JESUS the SON OF God?
Now the answer to this very simple question “Is Jesus the SON OF God?” is an undeniable YES! More than 20 times Jesus is DIRECTLY said to be the Son OF God without the need for any interpretation. The word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, explicitly teaches us over and over that Jesus is the SON OF God. But in order to keep this study in God’s word as short as possible, I will only give two witnesses of Scripture to establish this TRUTH that Jesus is, in fact, the SON OF Almighty God. Please read Romans 1:1-4 where we see that Jesus was DECLARED to be the Son OF God BY the RESURRECTION. This means that BY Almighty God Yahweh resurrecting Jesus from the dead that Almighty God the Father CONFIRMED and, in fact, PROVED to us that Jesus is TRULY the SON OF Almighty God.
Romans 1:1-4.
“Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
2. (Which He had promised afore by His prophets in the holy Scriptures,)
3. Concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was MADE of the seed of David according to the FLESH;
4. And DECLARED to be the Son OF God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, BY the RESURRECTION from the DEAD:”
This is WHEN the HUMAN Son of God, the Son of MAN, Jesus, BECAME God’s, ETERNAL Son. Please read the three-part study called “WHEN DID JESUS BECOME GOD’S ETERNAL SON?-1” But for now, let us read the second witness from the Scriptures that Jesus IS the Son OF God that teaches us that this is WHAT we are to BELIEVE so that we might receive eternal life in the world to come.
Please read John 21:30,31 where the Apostle John tells us that the very PURPOSE for his writing the Gospel of John is so that we will believe that Jesus is the “Christ” which means ANOINTED and also means the Messiah. And the Apostle John also said that we are to believe that Jesus is the Son OF God. My Bible has headings or titles to describe the context so I will include the title with the two verses of Scripture.
The Purpose of This Book
John 20:30,31.
“And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in THIS book: (Specifically speaking of the Gospel of John)
31. But these are written, THAT (Or SO THAT or for the very PURPOSE THAT) you might believe that Jesus IS the CHRIST, the SON OF God; and that believing you might have life through his NAME.”
The NAME “Jesus” in Hebrew is “Yeshua” which means the SALVATION OF Yahweh. In other words, Yahweh PROVIDED the world with HOW Yahweh Himself desires to save whosoever BELIEVES in the NAME of Jesus, the ONLY NAME given among men whereby we MUST be saved, according to Acts 4:12.
So then, “the what” that we MUST believe in order to be saved and receive eternal life in the world to come is to believe that Jesus is the MESSIAH, the Son OF the living God. And by believing that Jesus IS the MESSIAH, we will or we should believe and obey the TEACHINGS of Jesus under the New Covenant written in the New Testament to endure unto the end to be saved. Now Jesus himself specifically IDENTIFIED Almighty God the Father as being the ONLY TRUE God in John 17:1-3.
John 17:1-3.
“These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You:
2. Just as You have GIVEN him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as You have given him.
3. And THIS IS life eternal, THAT they might know YOU the ONLY TRUE God, AND Jesus Christ, whom YOU have SENT.”
The Greek word that is translated as “SENT” in verse three means COMMISSIONED, and the English word “commission” means to GIVE power and authority to someone to accomplish the task that they are given to do. So a police “commissioner” gives the power and authority to his or her police officers to accomplish the task of enforcing the law. And then the police officers are SENT out into the city to do what they were COMMISSIONED to do.
Then, in Matthew 16:16,17, we read where Jesus HIMSELF asks the question of Peter “Who do you say that I am?” And here is Peter's ANSWER! The underlined words in blue type are LINKS to another Bible study here at AMatterOfTruth.com. Rather than writing out the title of the study, I thought that I would try something new.
Matthew 16:16.17.
“And Simon Peter answered and said, You ARE the Christ, the SON OF the living God.
17. And JESUS answered and said unto him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona: (WHY? Why is Peter BLESSED? Because Peter says PLAINLY that Jesus is the CHRIST, the SON OF the living God?) FOR (Or BECAUSE, as in, you are blessed for the very REASON that) flesh and blood has NOT revealed it unto you, BUT MY Father which is in heaven.”
So then, right here in this passage of Scripture we see that not only Peter, who was a disciple and follower of Jesus Christ plainly says that Jesus IS the Christ, the SON OF the living God, but we ALSO see that Jesus HIMSELF CONFIRMS this TRUTH by telling Peter that he is blessed. And we see that Peter is blessed because he did not gain this understanding or this REVELATION of this TRUTH by the teachings of man, but rather, this TRUTH that Jesus IS the SON OF God whom God COMMISSIONED by ANOINTING him to be the Messiah was REVEALED to Peter by Almighty God the FATHER HIMSELF.
In other words, we have three sources of CONFIRMATION that Jesus IS the Messiah the SON OF Almighty God the Father whom God ANOINTED with the Holy Spirit and power right here in this one passage of Scripture. We have a disciple of Jesus named Peter, we have Jesus HIMSELF, and we have Almighty God the Father HIMSELF, all three are showing us CLEARLY and PLAINLY in simplicity the TRUTH of God's word that Jesus IS the SON OF God.
So with this kind of SOUND BIBLICAL evidence, I personally do not see why both Trinitarian Christians and Oneness Christians INSIST that Christians MUST believe that Jesus IS Almighty God Himself INCARNATED in the flesh. For you see, Numbers 23:18 and Hosea 11:9 clearly teach us that God is NOT a man and NEITHER is God the SON OF MAN. And to ME, the ONE God is ONE person who is the ONLY TRUE God is the ONLY God who is the ALMIGHTY God that is always clearly identified as being the Father. So simple logic teaches us that SINCE Almighty God the Father is the God OF Jesus and Jesus is UNDER and SUBJECT to his God and Father then it is impossible for Jesus to BE the Almighty God. Now SON OF any FATHER can be the FATHER Himself. So the Son OF Almighty God can not be Almighty God Himself. That is my SHORT answer and for the longer more in-depth sound Biblical answer please continue reading in section two.
SECTION TWO
WHY IS JESUS CALLED GOD IF JESUS IS NOT ALMIGHTY GOD?
This brings us to the next question.
Is Jesus GOD?
The simple answer to this question, “Is Jesus God?” is a YES! Yes, Jesus is “God” by TITLE, according to the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible. Satan is called the “god” of this present world using the same Greek word “theos” that is translated as “God” when referring to Jesus. And we all agree that Satan is “A” God and NOT the Almighty God, but for whatever reason, when it comes to God’s Son as being “A” God then some Christians will simply not “hear” another word you have to say. And that is because they sincerely believe with all their heart that if Jesus is NOT Almighty God Himself in the flesh then they are DEAD in their sins. They have been “indoctrinated” that ONLY Almighty God can die for the sins of the world. And that religious indoctrination is a HARD thing for some Christians to overcome.
And I can relate to being “indoctrinated” by a church denomination. For you see, I was taught that if I ever leave the Roman Catholic Church that I would go straight to hell and I could NOT be saved unless I was a Roman Catholic. And that FEAR of choosing the Bible OVER what I was TAUGHT was a hard decision to make. But thank God that He led me to make that quality decision to always believe what the Bible itself teaches OVER what men teach. And all I do in the studies that I write is to SHARE with my readers what the Holy Spirit has revealed to me as to what the Scriptures mean in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. And then I leave it between you and God to decide what you yourself CHOOSE to believe. I firmly believe that when Scriptures are taken OUT of the CONTEXT that they can be twisted and made to appear that they are saying something that they are NOT TRULY saying when they are interpreted correctly in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. And Hebrews 1:8 is one of those verses of Scripture that is often used OUT of its CONTEXT to try and prove that Jesus IS Almighty God Himself in the flesh.
We CLEARLY and PLAINLY read in Hebrews 1:8 that the Son, who we know is Jesus as being the SON OF Almighty God, the Father is clearly and undeniably said to be “God” by the Father Himself. But the CONTEXT of Hebrews 1:8 ALSO clearly teaches us that Jesus is “A” God who is under and subject to his God and Father. Here is what Hebrews 1:8 out of its context tells us so you can read it for yourself.
Hebrews 1:8 OUT of its CONTEXT.
“But unto the Son He (Almighty God the Father Himself) says, YOUR throne, O God, is forever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom.”
Now, why would an ALREADY God the Son need to be TOLD that he is God? I do not mean to be rude or sarcastic to Trinitarian and Oneness Christians but did God the Son FORGET who he is? The sound Biblical answer is the human Son of God was promoted or highly exalted to BECOME “A” God after the cross to rule FOR Yahweh the Father in the world to come for 1000 years in the NAME OF Yahweh.
So then, CLEARLY, Almighty God the Father HIMSELF is saying TO the human Jesus that Jesus IS “GOD” as many of us have been taught! But NOT correctly taught in the manner that the Bible ITSELF teaches us that Jesus is “God”. What I mean by this is that almost every mainstream church denomination teaches us that Jesus IS THE ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God Himself. However, Biblical Unitarian Christians teach that Jesus is “a” God who was MADE Lord and God after the cross by being highly exalted and given the TITLE of God to rule for Yahweh in the world to come in the NAME OF Yahweh.
What does the Bible ITSELF teach us?
To ME, the sound Biblical answer is that Jesus is one in AGREEMENT and PURPOSE with his God and Father to always be obedient to Almighty God his Father who brought Jesus into existence as His human Son first at the MIRACULOUS virgin birth. And then, after the cross, Yahweh highly exalted the Son of man, Jesus, to be MADE Lord and God BY Yahweh Himself doing the making. For why would Yahweh PROPHESY of one day having a Son if so be that Yahweh already had a God the Son in the eternity past. Here is one of those PROPHECIES where Yahweh prophesies of not only having a Son in the future but ALSO SETTING His yet future Son to be a ruler of His kingdom.
Please read 2 Samuel 7:11-22 and while you are reading it, I would like to point out to Christians who may not be aware that there are several Aleph Tav hidden prophecies of Messiah Jesus who is My Lord or whom Yahweh MADE Lord after the cross. There are some 7,000 Aleph Tav verses. The Aleph and the Tav are the first and last Hebrew letters of the Hebrew Alphabet. And many of the Aleph Tav verses can be translated as “Messiah Jesus” but the Bible translators do not translate the Aleph Tav.
2 Samuel 7:11-22.
“And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and (I, Yahweh) have caused you (Speaking of King David) to rest from all your enemies. Also, the LORD tells you that he will make you a house. (I will dwell in the house of Yahweh forever. This last phrase LITERALLY reads “Yahweh tells you THAT HOUSE he SHALL MAKE for you Yahweh.” So we see TWO persons named Yahweh. In other verses, we find that Yahweh GIVES His Son Jesus His very one name Yahweh AFTER the cross to rule for Yahweh in the NAME OF Yahweh)
12. And when your days are fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will SET UP your (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) seed after you, which shall proceed out of your bowels, and I will establish (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) his kingdom. (You can see how Jesus is Yahweh’s WORKMANSHIP as opposed to being Yahweh Himself)
13. He shall build a house for my name, (Or to my glory) and I will establish the (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) throne of his kingdom forever.
14. I WILL BE his Father, and he SHALL BE my Son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: (Jesus LEARNED obedience. Jesus was TAUGHT how to refuse evil and choose the GOOD during his childhood. All children under the age of accountability are not accountable for their sins. We know for certain that Jesus did NOT sin during the days of his ministry)
15. But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you.
16. And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you: your throne shall be established forever.
17. According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
18. Then went king David in, (Speaking of in the VISION) and sat before the LORD, (Yahweh) and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? (Or who, I, my Lord, Yahweh. Or Yahweh who is he that is your Lord speaking PROPHETICALLY) and what is my house, that You have brought me hitherto? (David is asking Yahweh what this vision means, as in, why. Yahweh, am I being compared to my Lord who will be with You in the future?)
19. And THIS (Speaking of the yet future of making a human being Lord) was yet a small thing in Your sight, O Lord GOD; (My Lord, Yahweh. The word God is the four Hebrew letters YHWH. So this phrase could read “And THIS my Lord was yet a small thing in your eye Yahweh”) but You have SPOKEN also in Your servant's house for a great while TO COME. And is THIS the manner of man, O Lord GOD? (Or And THIS succession of MAN [To be made] my Lord, Yahweh [Is also for a great while to come. The Hebrew word translated as “manner” means custom and its root meaning is SUCCESSION)
20. And what can David say more unto You? For You, Lord GOD, know Your (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) servant.
21. For Your word's sake, and according to Your own heart, have You done (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) all these great things, to make (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) Your servant know them. (Or Yahweh, You have done THIS to make You Messiah Jesus Your servant known to them. Now read my own paraphrase version of verse 22 again)
22. WHEREFORE (Or for this reason) O LORD. Until my Lord there is none in the past like You, According to all that we have heard [In the past] with our ears, none is God except You,”
And as you continue reading the context below verse 22 as prophecy you will see a prophecy prophesying to Yahweh’s yet future Messiah to read this prophecy as a PRAYER back to Yahweh. And Jesus knew that the Scriptures testify of him. So Jesus knew before the cross that he would be made the Lord of the Sabbath speaking of the Seventh 1000 year long day of Yahweh’s Sabbath rest while His Son rules FOR Him. Jesus as being the Lord of the Sabbath is NOT speaking about Jesus being the Lord of the “weekly” Sabbath day.
You will also see that King David said to Yahweh that Yahweh REVEALED the God of Israel to him. The name Israel means he shall RULE AS God and there are prophecies where the name “Israel” is speaking of Jesus as prophecy. Some Christians read prophetic verses as only being a HISTORY of past events. I believe that the Old Testament should be read and understood as BOTH history AND PROPHECY. Let us go ahead and read 2 Samuel 7:26-29. Again, I will translate Aleph Tav as ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus.
2 Samuel 7:25-29.
“And now, O LORD God, the word that You have spoken concerning Your servant, (The LITERAL translation reads “And now Yahweh, ELOHIM the word which You spoke ON your servant.” In other words, in the beginning, was the word and the word was TOWARD God and ELOHIM was the word spoken by Yahweh ON His Servant, Messiah Jesus to be MADE Lord and God of the whole earth during the world yet to come) and concerning his house, establish it forever, and do as you have said.
26. And let Your NAME be magnified (Or and he shall be magnified NAME of You) forever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God over Israel: (Or the SAYING shall be Yahweh of the host, Elohim over Israel. Meaning Yahweh the Father is over the host in Heaven and Messiah Jesus will be that God over Israel. To THIS END was Messiah Jesus BORN)) and let the house of Your servant David be established before You. (NOT King David, but rather, Your servant Messiah Jesus be established before You, speaking of the house of Israel being established before Yahweh by accepting Jesus as their Messiah and Lord over them. The LITERAL reads he shall become established to face of You. Meaning that Jesus is exalted to be seated at the right hand of Yahweh’s side on Yahweh’s throne as a visible King of Israel just like they requested. Never was there a God set as high as Jesus was appointed. Yahweh never before shared His glory to such a degree. Nor will Yahweh ever do it again because there will be no need. Jesus is the FIRST and the LAST to be exalted to such a high position as second in command to only have Yahweh Himself above him)
27. For You, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, have revealed to your servant, (Or You Yahweh have REVEALED God of Israel Your servant to [me] Your servant [King David]) saying, I will build you a house: THEREFORE, have Your servant found in (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) his HEART to PRAY this prayer unto You.
28. And now, O Lord GOD, You are that God and Your words be true, and You have promised (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) this goodness unto Your servant: (Or You have promised this goodness unto (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) Your servant)
29. THEREFORE now let it please you to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever before you: for you, O Lord GOD, have spoken it: and with Your blessing let the house of Your servant be blessed forever.”
To me, this passage of Scripture is clearly a prophecy of Jesus because the New Testament teaches us that these prophecies were FULFILLED in Jesus, according to Hebrews 1:5, the very CONTEXT of Hebrews 1:8. So let us continue to search the Scriptures for the true sound Biblical answer to the following question.
Is Jesus the ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God?
Please read the CONTEXT of Hebrews 1:8, where Almighty God the Father undeniable calls his Son Jesus GOD. Here is Hebrews 1:5-9, which clearly and plainly teaches us that Almighty God the FATHER is GOD over his Son Jesus.
Hebrews 1:4-6.
“Being MADE so much better than the angels, as he has BY INHERITANCE obtained a more excellent name than they. (Hebrews 2:9 teaches us that Jesus was first made a little LOWER than the angels and then Jesus was CROWNED with glory and honor. And Philippians 2:8-11 teaches us that Jesus was HIGHLY EXALTED after the cross. So Hebrews 1:4 is teaching us that Jesus was highly exalted above the angels AFTER the cross. Jesus was given a NEW NAME after the cross. And Proverbs 30:4 is a prophecy for us to see if we know the new name of God’s Son to which every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord TO the glory OF Almighty God the Father)
5. For unto which of the angels said he at any time, You are my Son, THIS DAY (Speaking of the SAME day that Jesus was MADE so much better than the angels) have I begotten you? And again, I WILL BE to him a Father, and he SHALL BE to Me a Son?
6. And again, when He brings in the first begotten into the world (Speaking of Yahweh the Father brings His now highly exalted Son back into the world again at the second coming), He says, And let all the angels of God worship him.”
Now, to me, this passage of Scripture proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that Jesus had a beginning as “God the Son” on a certain DAY which Acts 13:33,34 clearly identifies as the very day the Yahweh resurrected the Son of MAN, Jesus, and highly exalted him GIVING him a NAME that is above every other name.
Please read Acts 12:32-38.
“And WE declare unto you GLAD TIDING, how that the PROMISE which was made unto the fathers,
33. God has FULFILLED the same unto us their children, IN THAT (Speaking of the WAY as to HOW Yahweh the Father fulfilled or PERFORMED His word of PROPHECY of the promised Messiah) He has raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, You are my Son, THIS DAY have I BEGOTTEN you. (So the very Apostles of Jesus interpret the PROPHECY in Psalm 2 as being FULFILLED by Almighty God the Father RESURRECTING the Son of MAN, Jesus from the dead and GIVING Jesus eternal life to never die again. Now, if “you” want to “interpret” the “this day” as meaning “eternity past” then that is between you and God. I myself am going to believe the EYEWITNESSES of Jesus who opened their eyes to understanding and they expounded the TRUE SOUND Biblical meaning of the Scriptures, according to Luke 24:27. And then the Apostles of Jesus wrote down what Jesus taught them in person and through the Holy Spirit)
34. And as CONCERNING that He raised him up from the dead, NOW NO MORE to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
35. Wherefore, He said also in another psalm, You shall not suffer Your Holy One to see corruption.
36. For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
37. But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
38. Be it KNOWN unto you, therefore, men and brethren, that through this MAN is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:”
To me, there is no doubt that the Scriptures as a WHOLE clearly teach us that Yahweh the Father PROPHESIED Himself into existence another God who SHALL rule FOR Yahweh in the world to come in the NAME of Yahweh. Let us continue examining the Scriptures that support what I believe.
1 Peter 3:22.
“Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers BEING MADE subject unto him.”
Why would the angels, authorities, and powers NEED to be MADE subject to an already fully God the Son in the flesh? I want you to think about an already pre-existing God the Son incarnating himself to become the Son of Man. JUST that part could be made to sound rational. But when you truly consider the FULLY God and man theory it totally contradicts the words “HIGHLY EXALTED”. According to the so-called God the Son incarnation “INTERPRETATION” of the Scriptures you have a person of a Godhead Trinity God who is EQUAL in every way with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit where none is less than or greater than each other. But AFTER God the Son is “HIGHLY EXALTED” he is NO LONGER co-equal with the Father. But rather, God the Son is NOW subject and UNDER Almighty God the Father. So instead of being “HIGHLY EXALTED” God the Son was abased and made under and subject to his God and Father. And IF you throw out the doctrine of the Trinity and claim that God the Son was ALWAYS under and subject to God the Father you still have to reconcile the FACT that the Father is the God OF Jesus.
To me, the only thing that makes COMPLETE sense that does NOT contradict any verses of Scripture when they are correctly interpreted in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God is what is called Biblical Unitarianism which is what I teach. Your average Biblical Unitarian Christians interpret Hebrews 1:8 in the LIGHT of Hebrews 1:9 to say that Jesus is “a” God by TITLE under and subject TO his God and Father who MADE Jesus Lord and God of the earth AFTER the CROSS.
Hebrews 1:8,9.
“But unto the Son He said, Your throne, O God, is forever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom. (Again, Why would an already fully God in the flesh need to be TOLD that he has a THRONE and that he IS God? To me, this only makes sense as a MAN being CROWNED as the King of kings and the Lord of lords at his “Coronation” when he is APPOINTED to be God over the whole earth for 1000 years)
9. You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; THEREFORE, God, (Speaking of Jesus being MADE Lord and God after the cross BY the ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God the FATHER) EVEN YOUR God, has ANOINTED you with the oil of gladness ABOVE your fellows.”
Now, an already Almighty God the Son would not need to be anointed ABOVE anyone because he would already be the ALMIGHTY God. And IF God the Son was always under and subject to his God then the doctrine of the Trinity falls apart. And IF one claims that God the Son STRIPPED himself to be made under and subject to God the Father you still have to reconcile the FACT that being HIGHLY EXALTED does not equate to being reinstated or restored back to the way you were before the so-called “incarnation” of God the Son.
The Greek word translated as “ANOINTED” carries the meaning of consecrating one to an OFFICE. The root word means to make able to handle. It means to FURNISH and Jesus was GIVEN all power and authority AFTER the cross, and that is WHEN all the FULLNESS of deity began to dwell in Jesus BODILY. It is also interesting that the root Greek word also means to EMPLOY and Jesus is the SERVANT OF Yahweh. The Bible does say that Christ BELONGS TO God and that God is the HEAD of Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:23.
“And you are Christ's, and Christ IS God's.”
1 Corinthians 11:3.
“But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man, and the HEAD of Christ IS God.”
Now some may argue and say but what about all the other verses in the Bible that say that Jesus IS the ALMIGHTY?
This simple short answer is that every single one of those verses of Scripture must be “INTERPRETED” to mean that the person speaking is Jesus himself and NOT Yahweh the Father as the one speaking. So in order to answer this question, it comes down to WHOSE “interpretation” best fits the teaching of the WHOLE of the Scriptures. Therefore, we will need to look at quite a number of Scriptures throughout the Old and New Testaments. So then, let us begin this section of this study in God's word by reading Genesis 17:1 below in section three.
SECTION THREE
IS JESUS ALMIGHTY GOD?
The King James Bible, as well as some other Bible translations, use the word “LORD” as opposed to saying, Yahweh. In Hebrew Almighty God the Father’s name is written as what is known as the TETRAGRAMMATON in the Old Testament by FOUR Hebrew letters (Hebrew: יהוה). The word “tetragrammaton” is from a Greek word that simply means a word with FOUR letters and has come to mean or refer to the word that is composed of the FOUR Hebrew letters that refer to or rather identify THE ONE TRUE and ONLY WISE ALMIGHTY God. And the four letters are “YHWH” as written in the English language. Some Bible scholars use the English letters YHVH, but most use YHWH. Sometimes they add vowels and these four Hebrews letters “YHWH” which are pronounced as YAHWEH and in some Bibles as JEHOVAH. I have been informed by some that Yahweh is the preferred usage and when I did my own research I found that Yahweh is the best choice. So Yahweh is the name of Almighty God the Father that I use in my studies. Please read the study “IS JEHOVAH GOD’S TRUE NAME?”
But for now, let us continue with this study to show that Jesus is NOT Almighty God Himself. The word “LORD” here in Genesis 17:1 is YHWH, which most always speaks or refers to THE God, or the ONE TRUE God, or more specifically THE ONE TRUE and ONLY WISE ALMIGHTY God and NO OTHER God or god. You will understand what I mean by this as you continue reading this study.
For now, I want you to SEE and understand from Genesis 17:1 that the LORD (YHWH), which we know is THE God because the word “LORD” here is the translated from the four Hebrew letters that in English are written as YHWH is the LORD THE God who is saying of HIMSELF that HE HIMSELF IS THE ALMIGHTY.
Genesis 17:1.
“And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD (YHWH) appeared to Abram and SAID unto him, I am the ALMIGHTY God; walk before me, and be you perfect.”
So then, YAHWEH is clearly identified as being THE ALMIGHTY in the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible. Now some Christians who teach the theoretical DOCTRINE of the Trinity or the literal pre-existence of Jesus might say that this verse has to be speaking of Jesus because the word of God also says that NO MAN has EVER SEEN God and Abraham is SEEING someone who says that he is the ALMIGHTY.
Well to ME, if the phrase “the LORD (YHWH) APPEARED to Abram” who was obviously a man, means that this MAN, Abram, LITERALLY SAW the LORD (YHWH). And NO MAN has SEEN God. Therefore, this ALSO means that Abram did NOT SEE Jesus either IF SO BE that Jesus IS THE ALMIGHTY God (YHWH) because the word of God says that NO MAN has SEEN God.
The TRUTH of the matter is that Abram did NOT ACTUALLY SEE the LORD (YHWH), but rather, Abram HEARD the LORD speaking unto him. Or Abram saw the Lord God Almighty in a VISION, as in, his eyes were opened to see into the spiritual world. But IF Abram did indeed see a VISION he certainly gives no evidence of this nor does he give us a description of the ALMIGHTY. All we know for SURE is that Abram HEARD a voice that said. “I am the ALMIGHTY God…”, but this does not by any means rule out that Abram saw a VISION.
You see, the Hebrew word that is translated as “APPEARED” has several meanings and the core meaning is to be made known, to realize, or to know. It also means to perceive. And while it is true that on many occasions this word is translated as pertaining to this realized or coming to know by the physical sight, or seeing with the physical eyes, I personally do not see that this is the case in these verses that deal with Almighty God APPEARING to a MAN. For you see, IF this word were to mean that MAN actually SAW Almighty God with his PHYSICAL eyes, then the question would arise as to “HOW can the PHYSICAL eyes of a MAN actually SEE that which is INVISIBLE?” And if so be that the man Abram SAW Almighty God then this would contradict other parts of God's word that clearly and plainly teaches us that NO man has ever SEEN God nor CAN see him.
Can you not see, or can you not UNDERSTAND and come to REALIZE, that SEEING a VISION is NOT actually SEEING with our PHYSICAL eyes, but rather, it is a PERCEIVING with an image in our mind or seeing with our spiritual eyes. And by God opening our eyes to see into the spirit realm is another way of explaining how MAN saw Almighty God when the Bible says that NO MAN has SEEN God. Paul said I CANNOT TELL whether I am in the body or out of the body, so clearly a VISION can seem as if you are actually seeing God with your physical eyes.
My point is this. The CLAIM by those that teach the DOCTRINE of the Trinity that this verse MUST, without fail, be speaking of Jesus because NO MAN has SEEN God. And, therefore, to THEM, this PROVES that Jesus IS ALMIGHTY God Himself makes absolutely no sense whatsoever because if NO MAN has SEEN God, then Abram did NOT actually SEE Jesus EITHER. For you see IF SO BE that Jesus is, in fact, THE ALMIGHTY God Himself then Abram did NOT see Jesus EITHER because NO MAN has SEEN God and Abram is a MAN.
Now, this may sound like a lot of double talk to some Christians but if you will bear with me it will all become clear as you continue this study in God's word while keeping in MIND that an ALMIGHTY God can NOT have another God OVER him, because that would make the God OVER him to be MIGHTIER or GREATER than himself. And, therefore, would NOT be the ALL mighty one or the HIGHEST God over ALL other gods. And, CLEARLY, Jesus has a God OVER him, which is his Father. Jesus is the SON OF the ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God the FATHER.
So then, IF Abram actually did SEE something then it is certain that he did NOT see the INVISIBLE Almighty God. But rather IF Abram “literally” saw something with his physical eyes then he saw an angel appearing in the form of a man as a REPRESENTATIVE of Almighty God speaking on behalf of Almighty God. Or Abram saw a literal angel and then HEARD the VOICE of the Almighty because NO man has ever seen the ONE TRUE INVISIBLE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God.
ALSO, it makes NO sense for those, who teach the DOCTRINE of the Trinity to say that Jesus is the LORD God ALMIGHTY because this would make Jesus BE the FATHER. And, according to their own DOCTRINE of the Trinity, which specifically states that Jesus is NOT the FATHER and the Father is NOT the SON Jesus, then the Trinitarian Christians thus prove their doctrine of the Trinity to be FALSE teaching by forcing Jesus to BE Almighty God Himself. For you see, the Bible itself always clearly identifies the Father as being the ONLY TRUE God who ALONE is the Almighty God.
Therefore, to ME, this was either a VISION of God or an angel God that Abram saw. Or the Hebrew word translated as APPEARED simply means that Abram REALIZED that this was the LORD (YHWH) BECAUSE Abram HEARD the LORD (YHWH) SPEAKING unto him and TELLING Abram that he IS THE ALMIGHTY and for Abram to walk perfectly before the LORD God THE ALMIGHTY. In the whole context of this verse, we read words like and God SAID unto him. So to Me, this word “APPEARED” simply means an AUDIBLE revelation to Abram and a revealing of TRUTH to us as well that the LORD (YHWH) is THE ALMIGHTY God alone. For a more in-depth study in God's word on this passage of Scripture in Genesis where three men appear to Abraham and one of the men or angels SEEM to be Almighty God please read the study called “THREE MEN WHO APPEARED TO ABRAHAM?” but for now let us continue looking at the verses that identify YAHWEH as being the ALMIGHTY God.
Another witness from the Scriptures that confirms that God or YAHWEH is THE ALMIGHTY is found in Genesis 35:9-11 where we see that Almighty God APPEARED to Jacob a second time and SAID unto him “I am ALMIGHTY God”.
Genesis 35:9-11.
“And God APPEARED unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram and blessed him.
10. And God SAID unto him, Your name is Jacob: your name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be your name: and he called his name Israel.
11. And God SAID unto him, I am God ALMIGHTY: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of you, and kings shall come out of your loins;”
Again, the word “APPEARED” here, means that Jacob simply HEARD the VOICE of Almighty God and REALIZED or PERCEIVED that this was Almighty God SPEAKING to him. You see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Scriptures must AGREE and harmonize with each other with no contradictions. So, therefore, any INTERPRETATION that any MORTAL man literally SEES God would CONTRADICT the clear, plain, and simple words of Jesus himself who teaches us that NO MAN has SEEN Almighty God. So then, again, the line of reasoning used by Trinitarian Christians is that because no man has seen Almighty God does NOT prove that this verse or any other verse of Scripture MUST be speaking of Jesus being a MANIFESTATION of “God the Son” who is saying that he is the Almighty God.
This Trinitarian “interpretation” contradicts the clear word of God that teaches us that no man can EVER see God. Think this through for yourself, IF Jesus is truly ALMIGHTY God and NO MAN has SEEN God, then it would ALSO be impossible for this MAN Jacob to have SEEN Jesus either IF SO BE that Jesus is truly Almighty God Himself. Keep in mind dear child of God that these teachings of the mainstream church denominations are only INTERPRETATIONS of what these verses mean, according to THEIR own understanding of the Scriptures. In other words, it is just an INTERPRETATION that the Hebrew word translated as “APPEARED” must, without fail, mean a VISIBLE appearance of Almighty God Himself where a man could physically SEE Almighty God face to face.
However, the truth of the matter is that the word “APPEARED” in the original language simply means PERCEIVED, REALIZED, or to become AWARE of something. The Virgin Mary perceived that the words that the angel Gabriel spoke to her were the words of Yahweh Himself. And no Christian tries to force the angel Gabriel to be Jesus. To me, it is easy to understand that when Abram and Jacob HEARD a VOICE coming from out of the heaven that was SPEAKING to them that they REALIZED that this must be the LORD God (YHWH) whom they HEARD who was revealing Himself to them. And this VOICE which they HEARD revealed to them as well as us that the LORD (YHWH) alone is THE ALMIGHTY GOD who is ONE person.
To me, Yahweh the Father can manifest Himself in any form He so chooses such as a burning bush, a pillar of fire, or a thundering voice coming from the burning bush. And Yahweh can send LITERAL Angelic beings who can appear in the form of men. So the ONLY reason that Trinitarian Christians “interpret” these Old Testament Scriptures as being manifestations of God the Son and NOT manifestations of God the Father is because they NEED a pre-existing “God the Son” in the eternity past or their Trinity doctrine falls apart.
In Exodus 6:2,3 we are given the NAME of God Almighty by Almighty God HIMSELF.
Exodus 6:2,3.
“And God SPOKE unto Moses, and SAID unto him, I am the LORD (YHWH):
3. And I appeared (Or made myself known) unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the NAME of God Almighty, but by my name, JEHOVAH was I not known to them.”
Now the Hebrew word that is translated as Jehovah, according to Wikipedia, a free Encyclopedia on the Internet, is defined as follows:
Jehovah ( /dʒɨˈhoʊvə/) is the romanization of the Hebrew word יְהֹוָה
And is a vocalization of the Tetragrammaton יהוה (YHWH transcribe Yahweh), the proper name of the God of Israel in the Hebrew Bible.
The word “Jehovah” in Exodus 6:3 is translated from the “tetragrammaton” but the words God Almighty are translated from Strong's number H3068. And when you look the Hebrew word up you will find that it is a “compound Hebrew word. In other words, the words “God ALMIGHTY” are a combination of two words. The word that is translated as “God” is the Hebrew word “EL” in this verse which is Strong's # H410 and means God or god. This word means mighty one or a strong one. In other words, one who is powerful. And the other word that is translated as “Almighty” is the Hebrew word “SADDAY” which is Strong's #H7706 and means “Almighty”, as in, the HIGHEST God over and above all other gods. Yahweh is the God OF Gods whom He Himself SET to be Gods over different parts of His creation. This compound Hebrew word that is translated as Almighty God is used 48 times in the Old Testament and always refers to Yahweh Himself as being the Almighty God which the NEW Testament clearly identifies as being the FATHER.
In the New Testament, the Greek word that is used to refer to Almighty God, the Father, is the Greek word “PANTOKRATOR” which is Strong's # G3841 that means “Almighty”. This Greek word, again, always refers to Almighty God, the Father, and it is used 10 times in the New Testament. And 9 times it is translated as Almighty and one time it is translated as OMNIPOTENT.
The word “OMNIPOTENT” comes from two Latin words OMNI + POTENTE, where OMNI means ALL and POTENTE means power or authority, henceforth Almighty God means the ALL POWERFUL one who has ALL AUTHORITY over ALL. In other words, Almighty God, the Father is the HIGHEST and MOST powerful God there is and NO God is like Almighty God, the Father that is spoken of in the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible. Revelation 19:1-6 says this about the OMNIPOTENT or the ALL powerful God.
Revelation 19:1-6.
“And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, unto the Lord our God:
2. For true and righteous are His judgments: for He has judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
3. And again, they said Alleluia. And her smoke rose up forever and ever.
4. And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshiped God that sat on the THRONE, saying, Amen; Alleluia.
5. And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all of you his servants, and you that fear him, both small and great.
6. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thundering, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God OMNIPOTENT reigns.”
In verse 4 we see that this ALL powerful and MOST-high God OMNIPOTENT that reigns, is sitting on the THRONE.
So why is this significant? Why do I point out that it is Almighty God who is the one sitting on the THRONE? Well, the way I understand the Scriptures the ONE who sits upon the THRONE is speaking of Almighty God Himself who IS the Father ALONE. This will all be explained in detail and in simplicity as we continue this study in God's word. We are to COMPARE Scripture with Scripture in order to CORRECTLY “interpret” the Scriptures. And that is what we will do to learn the TRUE SOUND Biblical meaning of Revelation 1:8 that is “INTERPRETED” by both Trinitarian Christians and Oneness Pentecostal Christians as Jesus himself as being the one who is doing the speaking. But as you will see, it is NOT Jesus who is speaking, but rather it is Yahweh the FATHER who is speaking in Revelation 1:8.
Please read Revelation 4:8-11.
“And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him, and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. (We will also keep an eye on this phrase that describes Yahweh the Father as being the one which was, and is, and is to come. This phrase is a study in and of itself and I will let you know when I finish that study)
9. And when those beasts give glory and honor and thanks to Him that SAT on the THRONE, who (Or more precisely TO the one) lives forever and ever, (As in, ALSO to another one who lives forever)
10. The four and twenty elders fall down before Him that SAT on the THRONE, AND worship him that lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11. You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for you have created all things, (Speaking of the ALL of whosoever believes will SHALL YET be created as the eternal sons and daughters of God at the coming of Jesus) and for your pleasure, they are and were created.”
Then, when we read Revelation 5:1-10, we can CLEARLY and PLAINLY see that Jesus is the LAMB of God that was slain and that Jesus is NOT the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY that SAT upon the THRONE who in Revelation 19:1-6 is called OMNIPOTENT. In other words, the MAN Jesus is referred to as the Lamb that was slain. And it is the MAN who was slain that comes OVER TO the Lord God ALMIGHTY that sits on the THRONE and takes the book out of His hand.
Revelation 5:1-10.
“And I saw in the right hand of HIM that SAT on the THRONE a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
2. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loosen the seals thereof?
3. And no MAN in heaven, nor in the earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
4. And I wept much because no MAN was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
5. And one of the elders said unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
6. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, STOOD a LAMB as it had been SLAIN, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
7. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of HIM that SAT upon the THRONE (Which we know from Revelation 4:1-8 is the Lord God ALMIGHTY)
8. And when he had taken the book, (Still yet STANDING by the THRONE) the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, (Speaking of the Son of MAN, Jesus who was slain on the cross for the sins of the world) having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints.
9. And they sang a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: FOR (Or BECAUSE) you were SLAIN, and have redeemed us to God (Speaking of Jesus, the Son of MAN whose was slain to redeem us to Almighty God the Father) by your blood (Speaking of the blood of the MAN Jesus who was slain seeing the ALMIGHTY God is NOT a man, according to Numbers 23:19 and Hosea 11:9) out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10. And (YOU, the UNDERSTOOD subject that is being spoken to, which is referring to Jesus the Lamb that was slain) have made us unto our God (Again, speaking of Almighty God the Father) kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”
Now, from all these verses of Scriptures, it is CLEARLY and PLAINLY seen that Jesus, the Lamb of God that was slain, the man approved of God, the CHRIST or the ANOINTED ONE of Almighty God is NOT THE ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God, the Father the OMNIPOTENT. But rather, Jesus is the WORKMANSHIP OF Yahweh the Father who ALONE is the Almighty God. Did you notice that they were NOT looking for Almighty God to be found WORTHY to open the book? They were NOT looking for a “God the Son” to be worthy to open the book. In fact, they were NOT even looking for the “Son of God” to be worthy to open the book. But rather, they were looking for a MAN who PREVAILED over the enemy Satan who is worthy to execute the WRATH of Almighty God and to JUDGE the world.
So then, since Jesus is NOT the ONE TRUE and ONLY WISE ALMIGHTY God, but rather Jesus, the SON of God, who IS in fact “a” God under and subject to his God and Father, according to Hebrews 1:8,9, then HOW can we reconcile having MORE than ONE God? To me, the answer is SIMPLE. Almighty God can GIVE all power and AUTHORITY to any created being that He so chooses to rule AS God over the earth in the NAME OF Yahweh. So why is it so hard for some Christians to see and understand that Jesus is “a” God who came forth into existence OUT FROM Yahweh as Yahweh’s WORKMANSHIP to the glory OF Yahweh who then SHARES His glory with His Son who He begat by the spoken word of PROPHECY?
Now for me, I think the answer to that question is that Christians through the years from the time that this DOCTRINE of the Trinity was formed have been going about it the wrong way in order to solve this dilemma of having MORE than ONE God. They have come up with all kinds of man-made DOCTRINES such as the DOCTRINE of the Trinity and the doctrine of Oneness. The doctrine of the Trinity states that there are three persons of the ONE Godhead where each one is equal in every way to the other and none is greater than or less than the other. They are ALL the ONE God, but the Father is NOT the Son and the SON is NOT the Father and Son is not the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is not the Father.
Then there is the DOCTRINE of ONENESS or Modalism where Jesus IS Almighty God the Father and Almighty God the Father IS the Son Jesus. But we have just clearly seen from the Scriptures that this is NOT what the WHOLE word of God teaches us. For you see, how can one and the self same being come OVER to himself and take a book out of his own hand unless they are TWO SEPARATE persons from each other? SECTION FOUR
HOW CAN BOTH JESUS AND THE FATHER BE GOD?
So then, HOW can Jesus be called GOD and NOT be THE ALMIGHTY God Himself if there is ONLY ONE God that is clearly taught in the Old Testament?
Well to me, it is quite simple. The way I see it is that the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, CLEARLY and PLAINLY teaches that there is MORE than just ONE GOD. God PROPHESIED that He would do NEW THINGS. And new things are something that God has never done before in the FORMER things which He did in the PAST.
ALSO, the Bible itself NEVER did teach that this is just ONE God, but rather, the truth of the matter is that the Bible has always clearly taught that there is only ONE God who ALONE is THE ALMIGHTY. But I believe that Yahweh never intended the Scriptures to be INTERPRETED that there is just ONE single God and that there are no other Gods. For you see, many of the angels are referred to as the “Elohim” which is translated as Gods which is written as gods with a lowercase “g” to distinguish the gods who were MADE or SET to be a god by Yahweh for the Almighty God who made them become gods.
And IF the word “God” referring to Jesus was translated as “god” with the lowercase “g” then Christians would never have tried to force Jesus to be Almighty God Himself. It is the INTERPRETATIONS of religious Bible scholars that dogmatically teach that there is but ONE God. However, the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, clearly teaches us that God is the God OF Gods. So then, HOW can God be THE God OF other Gods if there is just ONE God? And WHY the need for the word “ALMIGHTY” to DISTINGUISH the one true and ONLY ALMIGHTY God in ONE person from all other Gods?
I mean just think about the word “ALMIGHTY” God. This word just by itself seems to suggest that to be the ONE TRUE and ONLY Almighty God, or the MOST powerful God, then there must be other lesser Gods under Him that He Himself ordained or appointed to be Gods under Him. To say this another way, since there is an “ALMIGHTY” God, then who is the HIGHEST of all other Gods? For you see, there must be at the very least be one OTHER God or god that is under or subject to the ONE TRUE and ONLY Almighty God.
Then when we closely consider verses like the one in Luke 1:29-33 which teaches us that Almighty God the Father is the HIGHEST and that Jesus is the SON OF the HIGHEST it becomes clearer that the very word “ALMIGHTY” definitely indicates more than just one god so that the Almighty God will be the HIGHEST God of or over and above all other gods. And to me, God declared the END from the beginning by prophesying the ORDER of the events to be FULFILLED one STEP at a time. Please read the study “ISAIAH 9:6,7 WHAT DOES EVERLASTING FATHER MEAN?” In that study, I explain the ORDER of the events that are PROPHESIED. And Jesus is not given the TITLE or the NAME the Might God and the everlasting Father UNTIL the GOVERNMENT will be laid on his shoulders in the world yet to come. But this truth that Jesus will be the God over the whole earth in the world to come is REVEALED to us in this present world and that is why Thomas called Jesus both Lord and God after the cross.
Luke 1:30-33.
“And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for you have found favor with God.
31. And, behold, you shalt conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and shall call his name JESUS. (Which again means the salvation OF Yahweh or Yahweh saves. And that teaches us that Jesus is the WORKMANSHIP OF Yahweh who provided salvation for mankind by way of creating Jesus a little LOWER than the angels at FIRST)
32. He SHALL BE great, and SHALL BE CALLED the Son OF the HIGHEST: and the Lord God SHALL GIVE unto him the throne of his father David:
33. And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom, there shall be no end.”
We also see from this passage of Scripture that Almighty God, the HIGHEST of all, shall GIVE his Son Jesus his throne to rule over. Also, please notice that the Bible itself clearly identifies Jesus as being the SON OF the Highest and NOT that Jesus IS the Highest God over all other gods. For you see, Almighty God the Father is the God OF Jesus. The phrase “God of gods” is found four times in the Bible. I will just quote one verse.
Deuteronomy 10:17.
“For the LORD YOUR God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regards not persons, nor takes reward:”
In other words, OUR God is the ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God OF gods. Now there might be some of you who say, “These other gods are just FALSE gods or IDOLS that man has conjured up in their vain minds.” If this were true that these FALSE gods are NOT REAL gods, then WHY would Almighty God need to be MIGHTIER than just a figment of some person’s imagination? These are simply vain arguments of people trying to hold on to the FALSE teaching of the doctrine of the Trinity.
Almighty God the Father calls His very own SON Jesus “God” who He Himself is the God OF His Son. So then, are we to INTERPRET that all the Gods that Almighty God the Father is the God OF or OVER are just false gods and idols? If so, then this would mean that Jesus himself would be a false god ACCORDING to that INTERPRETATION that ALL these gods are idols and false gods. The truth of the matter is that the “WORD” “God” is simply a TITLE that identifies one who is mighty and has authority over others. And Jesus was GIVEN all power and authority to judge after the cross.
You see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, who are seeking the TRUTH, Satan is called the god of this world and is also God's ENEMY. So I ask you the SIMPLE question, Is Satan REAL, or is Satan just a figment of your IMAGINATION? Of course, Satan is REAL and he is “a god” who is UNDER the one true and only Almighty God who CREATED him, but then Lucifer REBELLED against his creator and tried to take over his throne. Please read the study “WHO IS LUCIFER--IS LUCIFER SATAN?” and the study “UNDERSTANDING WHY?” But for now, just know that there is a WAR in heaven.
In Revelation 12:9-11 we are told that there was WAR in heaven and one day Satan and his angels who he is King over will be cast down out of heaven or the air down to the Earth. Now for me, I see that this WAR has been going on since BEFORE mankind was ever created. For a deeper understanding of what I mean by this please read the study called “UNDERSTANDING WHY?”. But for now, just know that Satan is NO FIGMENT of man's IMAGINATION and that he is indeed a god. But ALSO know that Almighty God, the Father, is MIGHTIER than the god of this world, Satan.
But what about Jesus as being GOD? Well, we know that Almighty God the Father is the GOD OF Jesus because Jesus HIMSELF teaches us this TRUTH. And to ME, Jesus is NOT a false god or God, Jesus is NOT an IDOL, and most certainly Jesus is NOT a figment of our imagination. BUT Jesus is indeed a God, or god, because Almighty God, the Father, has HIGHLY EXALTED His human SON Jesus to be given a name above every name and to be worshiped by all in the world to come. Please read Matthew 27:33-51 where we see Jesus on the cross crying out to his God and Father just like it was prophesied in the Old Testament in Psalm 22, which I will have you read in a moment. I will only quote verse 46 in Matthew chapter 27.
Matthew 27:46.
“And about the ninth hour, Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is to say, MY God, MY God, why have you forsaken me?”
Clearly, Almighty God is THE God over Jesus his Son. Now please read Psalm 22:1-18 which is a prophecy of Jesus suffering on the cross and see the similarity of how the word of TRUTH was FULFILLED through Jesus the Son of the living God.
Psalm 22:1-18.
“My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Why are You so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
2. O my God, I cry in the daytime, but You hear not, and in the night season, and am not silent.
3. But You are holy, O You that inhabit the praises of Israel.
4. Our fathers trusted in You: they trusted, and You did deliver them.
5. They cried unto You and were delivered: they trusted in You and were not confounded.
6. But I am a worm, (Or more precisely, the Hebrew word means crimson-colored or covered in blood) and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
7. All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8. He (Speaking of Jesus) trusted in the LORD that He would deliver him: let Him deliver him, seeing he delighted in Him. (Meaning that Jesus trusted in his God the Lord God Almighty to deliver him or to save him.)
9. But You are He that took me out of the womb: you did make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
10. I was cast upon you FROM the WOMB: you are MY God FROM my mother's BELLY. (Here we see that Yahweh BECAME the God of Jesus at his virgin birth)
11. Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
12. Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
13. They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
14. I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
15. My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue cleaves to my jaws, and you have brought me into the dust of death.
16. For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
17. I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
18. They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.”
These Old Testament Scriptures prophesied of a MAN that would come who would be the Messiah. And this man Jesus says that from his mother's womb that Almighty God was HIS God. In other words, Yahweh was NOT his God in the eternity past. So if one tries to argue that God the Son stripped himself of his divinity to become under and subject to Yahweh as his God just remind them that Jesus was HIGHLY EXALTED after the cross and that Jesus will always and forever be UNDER and subject to his God and Father in all the eternity future. So HOW is that being HIGHLY EXALTED for a Trinity God the Son who, supposedly, was once EQUAL with God the Father in the eternity past? The doctrine of the Trinity contradicts the Scriptures in so many places.
Then we see that after Jesus was raised from the dead but before he ascended to God he tells Mary to go tell the other disciples that he is ascending to HIS GOD and his Father.
Please read John 20:17.
“Jesus said unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto MY Father, and your Father; and to MY God, and your God.”
Now, to me, if Jesus were TRULY Almighty God then he would NOT have a GOD who is over him, or one who is GREATER than he, because if Jesus were TRULY Almighty God HIMSELF, then he would be the HIGHEST of all other Gods and gods the SAME as the Father. The mere fact that Jesus has a God who is OVER him CLEARLY teaches us that Jesus is NOT the ONE TRUE and ONLY WISE ALMIGHTY God who ALONE is the FATHER.
But some may still be wondering HOW can there be MORE than ONE God, seeing that Jesus is called God by his God and Father THE ONE TRUE and ONLY Almighty God and Jesus NOT BE the ONE TRUE Almighty God because does not the Bible also teach us that there is NO God beside me? For the true sound Bible meaning of the “no God beside me” verses of Scripture, please read the study “WHAT DO THE ‘NO GOD BESIDE ME’ VERSES TRULY MEAN?”
But for now, I want you to read Psalm 89:15-27, which teaches us that Almighty God has CHOSEN to EXALT and ANOINT one out from among the people to be his FIRSTBORN and who he will MAKE to become a King of kings.
Psalm 89:15-27.
“Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of your countenance.
16. In your name shall they rejoice all the day: and in your righteousness shall they be exalted.
17. For you are the glory of their strength: and in your favor, our horn shall be EXALTED.
18. For the LORD is our defense, AND the Holy One of Israel is our king.
19. Then You (Speaking of Almighty God) spoke in vision TO your holy one, and said, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have EXALTED one chosen out of the people.
20. I have found David my servant, (Speaking of Jesus) with my holy oil have I ANOINTED him:
21. With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.
22. The enemy shall not exact upon him, nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
23. And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.
24. But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be EXALTED.
25. I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
26. He (Jesus) shall cry unto me, You are my father, MY God, and the rock of MY salvation.
27. Also, I (Almighty God) will MAKE him (My human Son Jesus) my FIRSTBORN, (From the DEAD) HIGHER than the kings of the earth.”
This Psalm is a prophecy speaking of Jesus being the FIRSTBORN among many brethren and being EXALTED and given a name HIGHER than all names and being made a King of kings. And in verse 26, we see Jesus crying out to his God and Father, Almighty God who is the rock of his salvation.
All through the Old Testament, we see prophecies of Jesus and many of these prophecies teach us the PLAN of Almighty God to raise up a savior from AMONG the PEOPLE.
In Isaiah 48, we read the words “and my GLORY will I NOT give to ANOTHER” and some Christians have taken these words to mean that Almighty God will NOT share or give his GLORY to anyone. But when we read this verse in the CONTEXT of where it is found I find that Almighty God is saying to us that he will not give his GLORY to anyone other than to the ONE he has promised to GIVE his GLORY to speaking of his right arm, his CHOSEN ONE, who is his SON Jesus his elect one or his chosen one from among the people to be his ransom to redeem mankind. Think about all the verses that Jesus spoke like GLORIFY ME so that YOU may be GLORIFIED, as you read this passage of Scripture found in Isaiah 48:11-15.
Isaiah 48:11-15.
“For my own sake, even for my own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? And I will not give my glory unto another.
12. Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.
13. My hand also has laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand has spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.
14. All you, assemble yourselves and hear; which among them has declared these things? The LORD has loved HIM: He (Almighty God) will do his pleasure on Babylon, and His arm (Speaking of Jesus) shall be on the Chaldeans.
15. I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called HIM: (Speaking of Jesus) I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.”
To me, it is obvious that this verse as well as the other verses that say that God will not share his GLORY with ANOTHER are speaking of Almighty God not sharing or giving his GLORY with any other except with the ONE he CALLED, his ELECT, the one he LOVED, speaking of his Son Jesus.
Please read Isaiah 42:1-8.
“Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine ELECT, (Or my CHOSEN ONE) in whom my soul delights; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
2. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
3. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
4. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he has set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
5. Thus says God the LORD, (Almighty God, who one day yet in the future from the time that this prophecy was spoken, will become the Father of his human Son Jesus. Thus says the Lord God ALMIGHTY) he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which comes out of it; he that gives breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
6. I the LORD have CALLED YOU (Speaking of Almighty God calling his Son Jesus, His ELECT and NOT SENDING His Son down from heaven. God calls the end from the beginning by way of PROPHESYING His yet future Son) in righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will keep you, and GIVE you for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; (Notice that God’s Son is GIVEN AFTER God CALLED His Son in righteousness)
7. To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
8. I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.”
It is obvious that Almighty God will NOT give his GLORY and PRAISE to any GRAVEN IMAGES, but we know elsewhere from the word of TRUTH that Almighty God does indeed give His GLORY to His human SON Jesus to become His eternal Son. So to ME, I clearly see that when Almighty God says He will NOT give His glory to ANOTHER He is NOT saying that He will NOT give His glory to ANYONE, but rather, He is saying I will not give my glory to ANOTHER meaning that He WILL GIVE His glory ONLY to His CHOSEN ONE Jesus, His SON whom He loves and to ANOTHER He will NOT give His glory.
Can you not see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, how these verses have been taken OUT of their CONTEXT and have been INCORRECTLY interpreted to falsely teach that there is only ONE God, rather than teaching the truth that there is only one ALMIGHTY God who has chosen to share his glory with his Son Jesus ONLY and with ANOTHER God will the Almighty God NOT share his glory.
John 13:31,32.
“Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man GLORIFIED, and God is GLORIFIED in him.
32. If God is GLORIFIED in him, God shall also GLORIFY him in himself, and shall straightway GLORIFY him.”
Can you not see that IF those verses in the Old Testament were TRULY saying that Almighty God would NOT give His glory to ANYONE, then this would make God out to be a LIAR, which we KNOW is not possible.
Acts 3:13 says.
“The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has GLORIFIED his Son Jesus; whom you delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate when he was determined to let him go.”
So we can clearly see that Almighty God does in fact share or give his GLORY to ANOTHER. In 1 Kings 1:29,30, we see King David making an oath before the Lord God of Israel that Solomon would reign in his stead on his throne after he died.

“And the king swore, and said, As the LORD lives, that has redeemed my soul out of all distress,
30. Even as I swore unto you by the LORD God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead; even so will I certainly do this day.”
Then in 1 Kings 1:48, we read where the Lord God has GIVEN ONE to sit upon David's throne, which is a prophecy of Jesus sitting on the throne of David.
“And also thus said the king, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which has GIVEN ONE to sit on my throne this day, my eyes even seeing it.”
Jesus said “the Scriptures speak of me.” in John 5:39.
“Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and THEY (Referring to the Scriptures) are they which testify of me.”
And just as the Old Testament saints SAW the DAY of Jesus from the Scriptures so did Jesus see and understand that he is the Messiah FROM the Scriptures and Yahweh’s Holy Spirit teaching him morning by morning. Then in Acts 2:22-36, we learn that the Scriptures teach us that Jesus was made BOTH Lord and Christ BY his God and Father the ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God.
Acts 2:22-36.
“You men of Israel, HEAR these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which GOD DID by him in the midst of you, as you yourselves also know:
23. Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
24. Whom GOD has raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be held of it.
25. For David SPEAKS concerning him, (In other words, David is speaking on behalf of Jesus as a prophecy of Jesus saying) I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:
26. Therefore, did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover, also my flesh shall rest in hope:
27. Because you will not leave my soul in hell, neither will you suffer Your Holy One to see corruption.
28. You have made known to me the ways of life; you shall make me full of joy with your countenance. (This is a quotation of a Psalm of King David. Then in the following verses, it is explained to us that David is speaking prophecy of Jesus. So the words that David speaks are the words referring to Jesus as the Holy One even though David is speaking them)
29. Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us unto this day.
30. Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ (The ANOINTED ONE of Almighty God) to sit on his throne;
31. He seeing this before, spake of the resurrection of Christ, (Speaking of the anointed one Jesus) that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
32. This Jesus has God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33. Therefore, being by the right hand of God EXALTED, and having received OF the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he has shed forth this, which you now see and hear.
34. For David is NOT ascended into the heavens: but he says himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit you on my right hand,
35. Until I make your foes your footstool.
36. THEREFORE, let all the house of Israel KNOW ASSUREDLY, that GOD (Almighty God the Father) has MADE that SAME Jesus, whom you have crucified, BOTH Lord and Christ.”
The controversy of Jesus being Almighty God in the flesh seems to be centered around verses in the Old Testament that SEEM to say that there is NO OTHER God but ONE, which leads people to believe that there is no other God whatsoever than just the ONE God. But the TRUTH of the matter the Bible teaches that there ARE, in fact, other ELOHIM or THEOS besides the one true ALMIGHTY God.
If you look at the MEANINGS of the words in these verses in the original language it will become clear to you that there is only ONE ALMIGHTY God and no other gods that came into existence on their own, but rather all other Gods were created by YAHWEH and then GIVEN the power and the authority to rule and reign being given the TITLE of “God”.
Take a CLOSE look at the meaning of the words “BESIDE” and “BESIDES” in their original language and you will see what I mean.
BESIDE---Strong's # 1107 "balede" which means APART FROM, EXCEPT FOR, BESIDES, save, WITHOUT, and ELSE BESIDE (with 4408+5750)
In other words, APART FROM Almighty God the Father there can be NO OTHER “elohim” or god or more precisely APART FROM Almighty God there is no other mighty one EXCEPT FOR or BESIDES that one that Almighty God HIMSELF HIGHLY EXALTED to be a god or mighty one to rule and reign at his side during the world to come for 1000 years.
Strong's # 905 “bad” which means part, member, limb, pole, bar. (adverb) apart, alone, in addition to. Translated as alone, only, beside, besides, apart, by themselves, by himself, myself, branches, and except.
Strong's # 1115 bilti which means no not without, except for, and besides.
Strong's # 2108 zulu which means apart from, but, only, except, besides, save, only. Strong's # 4480 minni which means marker of a SOURCE or extension from a SOURCE: from, out of; temporary: since, after; logically: because of; of degree: more than, ABOVE;
The mere definition of this word BESIDES clearly shows ME that there is NO other god APART FROM THE God which Almighty God HIMSELF HIGHLY EXALTED to become a God to rule and reign in His kingdom. In other words, the ALMIGHTY God prophesied in His word of doing a NEW THING in the earth which is bringing forth a HUMAN SON into the world first. And then, after the cross, Almighty God HIGHLY EXALTED His human Son to the highest position ever given any other God before him. In other words, no other God before Jesus was ever exalted to sit at the very right hand of Almighty God to rule and reign on His throne in His stead while He rests on the seventh 1000 year-long Day of the Lord. NOT TWO Gods, as in, TWO Almighty and most high Gods, but rather, ONE TRUE Almighty and most high God with a HIGHLY EXALTED God who is still yet UNDER and SUBJECT to the ONE TRUE and ONLY Almighty God the Father.
Now with this interpretation of TWO Gods AFTER the cross, the ONE God in ONE person in the eternity past is the FIRST and Jesus being MADE Lord and God AFTER the cross is the LAST, I find no contradiction in the word of God as I do with the INTERPRETATION of the doctrine of the Trinity and the doctrine of Oneness.
Again, the doctrine of the Trinity teaches that there are THREE Gods in ONE God that are not three separate Gods but only three separate PERSONS in the one God.
And the doctrine of Oneness or Modalism teaches that Jesus and God the Father are ONE and the SELF-SAME being with no difference. In other words, Jesus IS the Father and the Father IS Jesus. Jesus IS Yahweh Himself in ONE PERSON.
Now I teach that Yahweh is the one and only true God in ONE PERSON who begat Himself a Son at the virgin birth of Jesus. And then Yahweh PERFORMED His own word of prophecy to MAKE His human Son the God over the earth in the world to come. And after the Millennial reign of Jesus, the Son of God will commit the ruling of the Kingdom back into his God and Father’s hands. Then Yahweh the Father will create the new heaven and the new earth after all evil has been destroyed in the lake of fire.
Can you not see my dear brothers and sisters in the Lord, that by trying to FORCE Jesus to BE ALMIGHTY God you are PUSHING people AWAY from God? Just take a CLOSE look around and if you ask the right questions you will find that there are those who simply WILL NOT believe in God BECAUSE they cannot understand this doctrine of THREE as being separate yet being ONE God and the ONE God while being ONE is yet THREE distinct persons or manifestations of the same God. If you have not noticed there are some Christians who are leaving their faith and embracing the religion of ISLAM as their faith BECAUSE of this very DOCTRINE of the Trinity. Even some Christians are becoming ATHEISTS for the very same reason of the complexity and illogical reasoning of these man-made DOCTRINES of the Trinity and Oneness because preachers just simply say that it is a are MYSTERY that cannot be understood or explained. These man-made doctrines took CENTURIES to be hashed out and formed. And that fact alone should prove to anyone seeking the TRUTH that these doctrines are NOT taught in the CLEAR, PLAIN, and SIMPLE word of Almighty God. But rather, these man-made doctrines are READ INTO the Scriptures by taking verses OUT of their CONTEXT.
It is for THESE and others who struggle with these complex and confusing DOCTRINES of men that were not widely accepted by the church until the fourth century nearly 300 years later after the resurrection of Jesus and the birth of the church. The man-made doctrine of the Trinity took several hundred years of intense controversy before its opponents were silenced by excommunicating them and putting many of them to death. This historical fact of Christians killing other Christians over this man-made DOCTRINE should be enough to tell anyone seeking the truth where this false doctrine came from. Any doctrine that produces such anger against those who oppose it, to me, raises a red flag as being a false doctrine coming from Satan.
Also, keep in mind those who were willing to lay down their life for their believing that Jesus is the SON of God who Almighty God highly EXALTED to become a God that would sit on his right hand and rule beside him, rather than accepting some teaching that they clearly saw was NOT SOUND BIBLICAL teaching.
Again, please do not misunderstand what I am saying. There are NOT two ALMIGHTY Gods, but rather, ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God with his Son who he made to be BOTH Lord and Savior as a lesser God sitting at his right-hand ruling in his kingdom. Please keep in mind that the word “God” is a TITLE meaning a mighty one or one given authority to rule and reign. YAHWEH is the HIGHEST authority and power who reigns over ALL including being God OVER his SON Jesus.
Another REASON that I speak out against these DOCTRINES of Oneness and Trinitarianism that wrongly teach that Jesus is EQUAL with Almighty God his God and Father or that Jesus IS the Father is that some Christians are not coming to the knowledge of the TRUTH that they have been set FREE from the BONDAGE of SIN. And it is BECAUSE they see Jesus as being Almighty GOD Himself as to why Jesus was able to live without sin. And, therefore, BECAUSE they have been misguided to see Jesus as being ALMIGHTY God they see Jesus as the ONLY ONE who is capable of living WITHOUT SIN. In other words, these FALSE DOCTRINES keep some believers in or under the bondage of SIN, because they see Jesus as being FULLY God in the flesh and they, therefore, wrongly believe that this is HOW Jesus was able to live his life WITHOUT SIN.
However, if the TRUTH was taught throughout the church that Jesus was a MAN just like every other man except for his virgin birth, then Christians would clearly see that Jesus was ANOINTED of Almighty God his God and Father WITH the Holy Spirit and POWER. Christians would understand that THIS is HOW Jesus DID the WORKS that he did INCLUDING living his life WITHOUT SIN. Christians would know and understand that this SAME Holy Spirit that DWELT IN Jesus is the very SAME Holy Spirit that DWELLS IN THEM to EMPOWER them to DO the very SAME WORKS that Jesus did INCLUDING living THEIR lives without sin.
If the TRUTH was taught to all Christians, I believe that more and more and more Christians would begin DOING the WORKS of Jesus and they would live their lives FREE from SIN. Christians would NOT be deceived by Islam. And both the Muslims and the Jews would be drawn TO TRUE Christianity when they understand that Jesus was highly exalted BY Yahweh to be SET as a God by TITLE to rule FOR Yahweh in Yahweh’s NAME for 1000 years so that Yahweh could JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels and destroy them in the lake of fire.
Now what Jesus was, or rather what the WORD was BEFORE the WORD BECAME flesh and dwelt among us is not what I am so concerned with, in this study, but RATHER I am more concerned with WHO and WHAT Jesus was WHILE he was in the FLESH here ON the Earth.
Have you ever considered the truth that Jesus is not going to become the Word again? In other words, the Word was made FLESH, and then when Jesus was raised from the dead that human flesh, the Son of MAN, was given a glorified body of flesh and bone that would never die. And nowhere do I find that Jesus will return to being the Word from which he came. Jesus is still yet a MAN even in heaven. In heaven around the throne, John began to weep because there was NO MAN who was worthy to open the seals, but then the Lamb, who was a MAN that was slain was the only MAN who was found worthy to open the seals. And to me, the truth concerning who Jesus TRULY is, according to the Bible ITSELF, is the Biblical Unitarian view of Jesus.
Once Christians, Jews, Muslims, and even atheists understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands.
And after you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels.
Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become “a” Lord, “a” King, and “a” God, under and subject to his God and Father in order to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
