The Romans Viewed the Cross as a Shameful Death!
Now, it is true that the PAGAN Romans did use the cross as an instrument of DEATH.
So then, to me, to state as a fact that the Romans used the CROSS design to SYMBOLIZE their gods is very misleading.
Notice that the governing body of the Jehovah’s Witnesses asks two questions in that one question.
“Did the disciples of Jesus use the cross in worship or to SYMBOLIZE Christianity?”
They do this to try to prove that the USE of the cross did not come about until the time of Constantine.
And they do that so that they can TRY to show not one single Christian BEFORE Contantine believed or taught that Jesus died on the CROSS.
Can you not see how they HATE the CROSS? To me, they are the FULFILLMENT of the PROPHECY in the New Testament.
2 Peter 2:1-3.
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 Peter 2:2. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
2 Peter 2:3. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not.”
In other words, be assured that their DAY of Judgment is coming!
They argue, as in, the leaders of the governing body of the Jehovah’s Witnesses have SEDUCED their followers to follow their writings, arguing that nowhere in the Bible does it suggest that the disciples used the cross as a symbol of “worship”.
Notice how crafty they word their teachings. Of course there is nowhere in the Bible that even so much as suggests to use objects in worshiping Almighty God.
But these questions have absolutely NOTHING to do with whether or not Jesus was CRUCIFIED on a wooden structure in the SHAPE of a CROSS.
Their whole argument is the SHAPE of the wooden object that Jesus died upon was a STRAIGHT UPRIGHT STAKE having no CROSS member.
So, simply ask yourself WHY your governing body is so INSISTENT on the SHAPE of the instrument upon which Jesus was crucified MUST, WITHOUT FAIL, be a STRAIGHT and UPRIGHT like a POLE?
What “spirit” is behind that insistent teaching of a torture STAKE and NOT a CROSS?
Simply take a look at the “phallic” obelisks in Egypt, St. Peter's square in the Vatican and even the Washington Monument and you will see which “spirit” is behind the teachings of the governing body of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
And, by the way, it is not a monument to George Washington, but to the CAPITAL of the United States. Not the United States of America, but the capital of the United States.
And just like the Vatican does NOT belong to the PEOPLE who are Roman Catholics, Washington DC does not belong to the citizens of the United States of America.
Not to get off of the subject, all of those PAGAN symbols are STRAIGHT UPRIGHT or erect in SHAPE are symbols of the erect male sex organ.
But as for the ACTUALLY FINISHED SHAPE of the STAROUS that Jesus was crucified upon AFTER Jesus was LIFTED up onto the STAUROS was the shape of a CROSS.
For you see, the EARLY church writers well BEFORE Constantine clearly describe the SHAPE of the CROSS as having a CROSS member, which the Jehovah;s Witnesses are being taught to be AGAINST.
Paul said to be followers of him as he followed Christ. And even in the first century Paul warns about the ENEMIES of the CROSS or beware of those who teach AGAINST the CROSS to become the ENEMIES of the CROSS.
Philippians 3:17-19.
“Brethren, be followers together of me, (In other words, follow the teaching of the Apostle Paul as he follows Jesus) and mark them which walk so as you have us for an example. (In other words, take note of those who teach DIFFERENTLY than the doctrines of the Apostles of Jesus Christ, the EYEWITNESSES of His death and resurrection.
And do not be DECEIVED by their FALSE teachings)
Philippians 3:18. (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the ENEMIES of the CROSS of Christ: (Yes, I am fully aware that your OWN PERSONAL translation says STAKE and NOT the cross.
But do you recall the PERSUASION that your governing body used in order to get you to believe in their man-made STAKE SHAPE interpretation of the CROSS?
Let me refresh your memory with a QUOTE from your governing body’s writings. The emphasis is mine.
“To consider a pagan symbol as sacred violates God’s command: “Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship do righteousness and lawlessness have? . . . ‘Quit touching the unclean thing.’”—2 Corinthians 6:14, 17.”
And how is a straight UPRIGHT POLE NOT a pagan SYMBOL?
You see, the Jehovah’s Witnesses whole argument is centered on the SHAPE of the STAUROS as being a pagan SYMBOL that the pagans used as IDOLS to worship their false gods.
But yet the SHAPE of a TOTEM POLE is the SHAPE of the STAUROS, a straight upright POLE.
Paul is saying that some who WALK, speaking of some Christians have become the ENEMIES of the CROSS)
Philippians 3:19. Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)”
Now, keep in mind that the disciples of Jesus were HEAVILY persecuted for the first 300 years after the resurrection of Jesus.
So, no! The disciples used SECRET symbols of Christianity. I will explain this in a moment.
But first, you should know that while it is true that the Roman Catholic Church did indeed MIX paganism with Christianity, that still does NOT prove that Jesus was crucified on a STAKE or straight upright POLE with no crossmember.
And just because that ONE group of Christians KISS the IMAGE of the feet of Jesus still hanging on a cross, does NOT mean that ALL other Christians follow what the Roman Catholics do.
Let us continue examining the JW article.
“Then, about 300 years after Jesus’ death, Roman Emperor Constantine adopted the cross as the emblem of his armies, and it thereafter became associated with the “Christian” church.
Since pagans used the cross to worship their gods, would Jesus’ disciples have used it in their worship of the true God?
On the contrary, they knew that God had long disapproved of worship using “the form of any symbol” and that Christians were to “flee from idolatry.” (Deuteronomy 4:15-19; 1 Corinthians 10:14) “God is a Spirit,” unseen by human eyes.
Therefore, the early Christians did not use visible objects and symbols to help them feel closer to God.
Rather, they worshiped him “with spirit,” guided by his invisible Holy Spirit, and with “truth,” in harmony with God’s will as revealed in the Scriptures.—John 4:24.”
First of all Jesus himself teaches us to use bread and wine as SYMBOLS to eat and drink in REMEMBRANCE of Jesus we SHOW His DEATH, according to Luke 22:19,20, and 1 Corinthians 11:26.
And to MOST Christians, the SYMBOL of the cross is SHOWING the DEATH of the Messiah.
Again, just because the Roman Catholic Christians “venerate” the CRUCIFIX with an IMAGE of the crucified body of Jesus STILL on the CROSS, does NOT mean that ALL Christians venerate the cross.
And just because the GOVERNING BODY of the Jehovah’s Witnesses use pagan SYMBOLS on some of their books and some of their publications does NOT mean that ALL of the Jehovah’s Witnesses venerate those SYMBOLS as object of WORSHIP.
But what about the “governing body” itself? Is it possible that some of the leaders of the Jehovah’s Witnesses are Masons and some possibly even being Luciferians?
Please do your own due diligence to research these possibilities.
Notice the SYMBOLS used by the FreeMasons in the following videos, some of which are used by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society that publishes the DOCTRINE for the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The Mason Cross laying is a crown SYMBOL is used on Watchtower publications.
Notice this disinformation video DENIES that the cross laying in a crown symbol is used or connected to the Masons.
Also, notice that he openly admits that the CROSS and the crown symbol is CHRISTIAN and that both symbols, the cross and the crown are in the BIBLE.
Notice as well the symbol of the KNIGHT in the upper right corner of the Watchtower publication.
The FreeMasons and the KNIGHTS Templars have the same SYMBOLS adopted by Charles Taze Russel, the founder of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

And if the Jehovah’s Witnesses KNEW they were PAGAN symbols that are ALSO used by Masons, then they would LEAVE that organization and follow the Bible ONLY.

For you see, some Christians are known to also be Masons, at least Masons in the lower ranks, which is an organization similar to the Knights of Columbus associated with the Roman Catholics.
Also, as a Jehovah’s Witness, have you ever CONSIDERED the LEVELS within the Jehovah’s Witnesses PATTERN the LEVELS or the degrees of Masons?

And again, even if the early first century Christians did cherish the cross, they would have done it in SECRET to stay alive as long as they could to preach the gospel.
Hence, they created secret codes HIDDEN in SYMBOLS to determine if a stranger was truly a Christian or if he was a spy for the Romans.
For example, one such SECRET or HIDDEN SYMBOL used by the Christians in the first century was the fish.
