U-25. Revelation 1:17 I AM the FIRST and the LAST!
Does Revelation 1:17 teach us that Jesus IS THE ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God in the flesh? In other words, does the fact that both Almighty God the Father and His Son Jesus saying the SAME thing about themselves automatically make them be ONE and the self-same “God”?
To say this another way, does Jesus saying the words “I am the first and the last” in Revelation 1:17, AND Almighty God ALSO saying the same words “I am the first, and I am the last” referring to Himself in Isaiah 44:6 mean that Jesus IS Yahweh Himself?
And does Jesus saying the words “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end…” in Revelation 22:13, AND Almighty God ALSO saying the same words “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end” in Revelation 1:8 mean that Jesus IS the Almighty God Yahweh Himself?
You see those who teach the doctrine of Oneness, the doctrine of the Trinity, and the doctrine of the Deity of Jesus during the days of his flesh argue that since Jesus himself says of himself that he IS the FIRST and the LAST and Yahweh ALSO says of Himself in the Old Testament the SAME words, then, to them, this proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that Jesus IS THE Almighty God Himself in the flesh. And since Jesus is also a human being the doctrine of the Deity of Jesus states that since Jesus is called God in Hebrews 1:8 then he must be FULLY God and FULLY FLESH at the SAME time having TWO natures at the SAME time, one divine, and one human.
But is this what the Bible ITSELF teaches? Is this the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God? Does the mere fact that Jesus and his God and Father say some of the SAME things and having some of the same TITLES, such as the King of kings, the Lord of lords, and the TITLE God, prove without any shadow of a doubt that Jesus IS THE ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God Himself?
Now just plain common sense tells us that IF SO BE that Jesus simply saying the same words as his God and Father were to make them be ONE and the SELF-SAME “Almighty God”, then that would mean the Jesus IS THE FATHER. And that is a direct CONTRADICTION of not only the doctrine of the Trinity but also a direct CONTRADICTION to the very meaning of the word “Almighty” God. For you see, the word “Almighty” means that there can be NO other God ABOVE the God who IS the ALMIGHTY God. And the Scriptures are very CLEAR to plainly teach us in SIMPLICITY that Almighty God the Father is the God OF His Son Jesus. And also, the Scriptures are very CLEAR to plainly teach us in simplicity that Almighty God the Father is NOT His SON Jesus and that the SON OF Almighty God the Father is NOT the FATHER Himself.
Now some Christians may argue that Jesus and the Father are not one and the self-same BEING, but rather, they are the one self-same ONE TRUE GOD. Well again, to ME, if so be this was true, then Jesus would be Almighty God AND the Father would ALSO be the Almighty God. And clearly seeing that Jesus is a separate person or separate BEING from the Father then that make two separate persons or two SEPARATE BEINGS who are not one and the self-SAME BEING to be TWO Gods who are BOTH the Almighty God because they are NOT one and the self-same BEING.
Also, the Bible itself makes it perfectly clear that Jesus said the Father is GREATER than he. And the mere meaning of the word “Almighty” means that there can only be ONE PERSON or BEING who is THE Almighty. Certainly, there can be two Gods because the Bibles teaches us that Yahweh the Father is the God OF gods. So you see, there can only be one God that is the one true and only Almighty God. Now, the one true and only Almighty God can appoint anyone He chooses to JOIN Him on His throne as another God that He Himself MADE Lord and God. And that is what the Bible ITSELF teaches us.
But let us ASSUME that the one true God is two separate persons in the ONE God. I know that the doctrine of the Trinity says THREE separate persons but the is far more evidence in the Bible that there are only TWO separate persons or two separate beings that are Almighty God the Father, and His Son, Jesus. And clearly seeing that the Father is GREATER than His Son then that would mean that the Father ALONE is the ALMIGHTY God and His Son, as a separate person, is “a” God under his God and Father. They both can NOT be THE Almighty God because the Almighty God can NOT have another God over Himself and Jesus does, indeed, have THE Almighty God OVER himself.
But yet, both Oneness and Trinitarian Christians argue that there can only be ONE God and they quote Isaiah 44:6 out of its context to try and prove that Jesus MUST be the ONE Almighty God Himself.
Isaiah 44:6.
“Thus says the LORD the King of Israel, and His redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last, and BESIDE me there is no God.”
Remember that the KJV is a “translation” and the Hebrew words in the original text have other meanings. And the Hebrew word that is translated as BESIDE also means ABOVE. So then, another translation is Yahweh saying that there is no other God ABOVE Him and not that there are no other gods whatsoever. For you see, Yahweh the Father is THE God OF Gods that He Himself APPOINTED to be gods. Also, the Hebrew word that is translated as BESIDE is a compound word and the other part of that compound Hebrew word means WITHOUT me there is no other God. And the CONTEXT is speaking of Yahweh CALLING a yet future servant to be appointed as a God. Let us read the very next two verses along with the first two verses.
Isaiah 44:1,2,7,8.
“Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; (Referring to Jacob as being a figure of Jesus, the Messiah) and Israel, whom I have chosen: (Speaking of both Jesus and the twelve tribes of Israel being chosen servants of Yahweh. Also, Jacob has been renamed Israel so in some cases the name Israel can also be a figure of the yet future Son of God)
2. Thus says the LORD that MADE you, and FORMED you FROM the WOMB, which will HELP you; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; (Again, this is a prophecy of Jesus being made and formed not only IN the WOMB but also FROM the womb throughout his whole life by Yahweh that will HELP His Savior accomplish Yahweh’s WILL) and You, Jesurun, (Meaning upright) whom I have chosen. (Remember that Jesus was taught by Yahweh visiting him morning by morning as a young child and as an adult that the Scriptures are speaking of him being prophesied to be made Lord and God to JOIN Yahweh his God and Father on His throne. Now keep in mind verse 6 that there is not yet a God, but rather, this is a prophecy of a future servant that will be chosen to join Yahweh to be beside Yahweh’s right-hand side)...
...7. And who, as I, SHALL CALL, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, (Or WHO Yahweh SHALL CALL and declare him and SET him to order FOR me. Or to SET him to be equal with me) since I APPOINTED the ancient people? (Speaking of the angels that were appointed as Elohim or gods by Yahweh Himself in ancient times before God created Adam. And more specifically, the fallen angels that are waiting to be judged) And the things that are coming, and shall come, let them show unto them. (The things that are coming are the firstborn Son of God who SHALL BE begotten by God and all the saints that shall be created as new creatures in Jesus as being the THEM who will show them speaking of the fallen angels. For you see, we will judge the angels who were appointed as gods in ancient times but they rebelled against God to try and take over God’s throne to be ABOVE Yahweh. So Jesus and his saints will SHOW them that even an inferior species made lower than the angels can live without sin and not rebel against God to be equal with Yahweh. You see, after Jesus came to be in the FORM of God after the cross he did not even THINK to take by force to be equal with God, according to Philippians 2:6. One of the things that are coming is the dethroning of Lucifer, aka, Satan and promoting Jesus to replace him as the God over the earth for 1000 years so Yahweh can JUDGE the world BY the MAN, Jesus anointed)
8. Fear you not, neither be afraid: have not I told you from that time, and have declared it? You are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? (Or is there a God APART FROM me? Again, this is speaking to people in the future after Yahweh has made the Son of MAN Jesus to be Lord and God over the earth so we are the witnesses who say YES, Jesus is our Lord and God who will rule FOR Yahweh in the world to come fro 1000 years. Now the last clause does NOT say there is no “God” in the original Hebrew text. Rather it says that is no rock referring to false idols made by humans. Yahweh is saying that there is no idol that He does not know about in the last clause. Then is verses 9-20 Yahweh talks about false gods that will burn and how those who follow the one behind blinding the eyes of people to go after false gods cannot say that the God at his right hand is a lie or a false God. For you see, Satan is the accuser of the brethren and Jesus is our brother) yea, there is no God; (Or actually, there is no rock in the original text that Yahweh does not know about. The word “any” is not in the original text) I know not any.”
Now, I myself find NO prophecies in the entire Bible that prophecy a God the Son coming down from heaven to incarnate himself to become a human being. Nor do I find any Scriptures teaching us that Jesus had TWO nature at the SAME time during the days of his FLESH from his virgin birth to his crucifixion on the cross. But I do find several PROPHECIES that prophecy a Son being born of a woman and then that human some becoming “a” God to rule FOR Yahweh the Almighty God in the NAME of Yahweh in the world to come.
Here is what the Holy Spirit is showing me. I am seeing from the whole word of God that there WAS in the beginning only ONE God all through the Old Testament and the one God prophesied that He would do NEW THINGS. And one of those NEW things was to have a Son and then God would highly exalt His Son to become a God which is a TITLE meaning a mighty one. Jesus is the IMAGE of the one true invisible God. So in many ways, Jesus is Yahweh, as in, Jesus is an exact representation of Yahweh who will rule FOR Yahweh in the world to come. To say this another way Jesus is the MANIFESTATION of the INVISIBLE God. In other words, God manifested Himself another God under Himself to be the God of the whole earth during the world to come for 1000 years. And according to 1 Corinthians 15:20-28, the Son will step down from ruling at the END of the 1000 year reign and commit the kingdom back into the hands of Almighty God the Father.

“But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. (Please understand that there are THREE HARVESTS but every man in his own order. Jesus is the firstfruits of the FIRST harvest. In other words, Jesus is the FIRST human being to ever be raised from the dead and GIVEN the divine nature of immortality to never die again)
21. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all (Meaning the all of whosoever believes) be made alive.
23. But every man in his OWN order: Christ the firstfruits; (Meaning that Jesus is the FIRSTBORN from the dead ones to become the firstfruits or FIRSTBORN of EVERY CREATURE to be made in the IMAGE of the invisible God) afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. (Speaking of us who believe in Jesus in this present world will be made partakers of the divine nature of immortality AT the coming of Jesus to rule for Yahweh during the 1000 years in the world to come. That will be the SECOND HARVEST of firstfruits)
24. Then comes the end, (Speaking of the END of the 1000 year reign of Jesus in the world to come) WHEN he shall have DELIVERED UP the kingdom to God, even the Father; when He shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25. For he must reign, till He has put all enemies under his feet.
26. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27. For He has put all things under his feet. But when He says all things are put under him, it is manifest (Or clearly made KNOWN) that He is excepted, which did put all things under him. (In other words, it is made perfectly CLEAR that Almighty God Yahweh who alone is the Father did NOT put Himself under His Son Jesus. But rather, Yahweh the Father will put all things EXCEPT for Himself under the feet of Jesus during the world to come which will be 1000 years long)
28. And WHEN all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto Him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.”
This passage of Scripture clearly teaches us that Jesus is “A” God under and subject to his God and Father because the Son will deliver up the ruling of the kingdom back into his God and Father’s hand WHEN the Millennial reign of Jesus comes to its END after 1000 years. And at the END of the 1000 year reign of Jesus, there will be a THIRD HARVEST of firstfruits. For you see, there will be mortal humans during the 1000 year reign of Jesus who will be SAVED. And another book of life will be opened at the end of the Millennium. And those found written in the book of life will receive eternal life while all the sinners and the unsaved will be destroyed in the lake of fire along with Satan and the fallen angels. And then Yahweh the Father Himself will create and new heaven and new earth to begin the ages to come after the 1000 year reign of Jesus.
Let us continue this study in God's word by listing all the passages of Scripture where the phrase “I am the FIRST and the LAST” or similar wording is found in the Bible.
Isaiah 41:4 / Isaiah 44:6 / Isaiah 48:12 / Revelation 1:11 / Revelation 1:17 / Revelation 2:8 / Revelation 22:13. We will also take a look at Revelation 2:13 as well as the verses where Jesus says, I am Alpha and Omega. Please read the study “Revelation 1:8 - I am ALPHA and OMEGA” for a more in-depth study of those verses of Scripture.
But for now, I would like to begin with Revelation chapter 1 where BOTH Almighty God the Father and His Son, Jesus each say this same exact phrase in the same passage of Scripture but not the same verse of Scripture.
Please read Revelation 1:5-19 where we see BOTH Almighty God the FATHER, which was, and is, and is to come AND His Son, Jesus each saying these words, “I am the first and the last” in the SAME passage of Scripture. This clearly teaches us that Almighty God the Father and His SON Jesus are TWO SEPARATE and COMPLETELY DIFFERENT persons or beings. So this passage of Scripture CLEARLY teaches us very PLAINLY that Jesus is NOT the Lord God ALMIGHTY who ALONE is the Father that sits on the THRONE. This passage of Scripture also teaches us that Almighty God the Father is NOT the LAMB OF God who alone is His SON, Jesus. In other words, there is absolutely NO DOUBT that the Bible clearly and plainly teaches us that Jesus is NOT the FATHER and Almighty God the Father is NOT HIS SON, Jesus. Please read slowly. And please read carefully. And most of all, please read PRAYERFULLY seeking ONLY the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God the Father.
Revelation 1:5-19.
“John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, FROM HIM which is, and which was, and which is to come; AND FROM the seven Spirits which are before HIS throne;
5. AND FROM Jesus Christ, (Please notice that John is sending a blessing of grace FROM HIM speaking of Almighty God the FATHER, which is, and which was, and which is to come, AND FROM his self-same Holy Spirit that is present everywhere so there are NOT seven different Spirits. But rather, there is just ONE SPIRIT who IS Almighty God the Father Himself seeing that Almighty God IS a SPIRIT. Then in verse 5, it says AND FROM Jesus Christ who we know to be the SON OF Almighty God the Father and the Son of MAN. My point is to all my Oneness Christian readers the very words, AND FROM Jesus Christ means that Jesus is NOT the self-same being AS Almighty God the Father. Jesus is a separate person) who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him, that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6. And has made us kings and priests unto God and HIS Father; to Him (Referring back to Almighty God the Father) be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. (The word Amen is a CLOSING word that means I agree. So then, the subject under discussion in the next verse is speaking of someone different than Almighty God the Father, which is, and which was, and which is to come, who sits upon HIS OWN THRONE that He appointed His SON Jesus to sit upon at His right hand. See Revelation 3:11-22)
7. Behold, he (Speaking of Jesus, but also keep in mind that Almighty God is coming WITH his Son Jesus at his second coming. Even though Jesus is now highly exalted to be a god beside his God and Father it is still Almighty God's SPIRIT that does the work) comes with clouds, and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindred of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. (Again, the AMEN indicating another change of speakers)
8. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, (Or I am Alpha and Omega the FIRST and the LAST, the beginning and the end.) says the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. (CLEARLY, the one who is speaking here identifies HIMSELF as BEING THE ALMIGHTY. Some Christians THINK and falsely conclude that Jesus is speaking. And thus, they incorrectly teach that the one speaking here in verse 8 is Jesus the SON OF Almighty God the Father. But in TRUTH, the one speaking is ALMIGHTY God the FATHER himself who definitely is NOT his SON Jesus. Please notice the EVIDENCE that PROVES what I just said. You see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ if we allow the Scriptures to interpret THEMSELVES then there would not be all this controversy over correct doctrine. Clearly, the EVIDENCE teaches us that the one who is speaking is also identified as being the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come. And when we will follow this phrase through the book of revelation in a moment and you will see that the Lord ALMIGHTY is the ONE who SITS upon the THRONE. And then we see the LAMB coming over to the Almighty who sits on the throne. So the Lamb which we know is Jesus is NOT the Almighty God who sits on the throne)
9. I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
10. I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard BEHIND me a great voice, as of a trumpet
11. Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: (This is clearly the voice of ALMIGHTY God the FATHER which will be made plain to you as you continue this study in God's word. Now I myself am seeing that Yahweh the Father is saying that He is BOTH the Alpha and the Omega and He is ALSO the first and the last, in that Yahweh, the INVISIBLE God MANIFESTED a SEEN God in His own image AFTER the cross. In other words, Jesus is the IMAGE OF the INVISIBLE God being GIVEN all power and authority to rule FOR Yahweh the invisible God where Yahweh the invisible God is still yet OVER his Son Jesus. And it was AFTER the cross that the human Jesus was MADE Lord and God over the earth and not over the whole universe. This does NOT mean that Jesus was fully God and fully a man at the same time during the days of his flesh BEFORE the cross as nearly all the mainstream churches wrongly teach. There would have been no purpose of Almighty God the Father HIGHLY EXALTING the Son of MAN to give the Son immortal life to be having in himself even as the Father has always had immortality in himself if so be the Son of MAN Jesus was already fully the divine God and fully human at the same time) and, What you see, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
12. And I TURNED to SEE the voice that spoke with me. And being TURNED, I SAW seven golden candlesticks;
13. AND in the midst of the seven candlesticks, one like unto the Son of MAN clothed with a garment down to (Please notice that this FIRST voice which John HEARD as of a TRUMPET which was behind him and he could not see whose voice was as of a trumpet. Therefore, John TURNED to SEE to whom this voice belonged but after being TURNED John saw ANOTHER being who was the Son of MAN. And the now highly exalted Son of man, Jesus, had a DIFFERENT voice that is as of the sound of many waters. Then John goes on to describe in figurative language the Son of MAN, speaking of Jesus) the foot and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
14. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15. And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and HIS voice (Referring to a SECOND voice that is DIFFERENT from the FIRST voice as of a TRUMPET, which is the voice of Almighty God the FATHER, but the voice of the Son of MAN, his voice was) as the sound of many waters.
16. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shines in his strength.
17. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18. I am he that lives, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore, (This is no doubt Jesus speaking saying the SAME words that his God and Father just said in verse 11, which are, “I am the first and the last”. But as you will soon see that this does NOT mean that Jesus is ONE and the SELF SAME BEING as Almighty God the Father. Also please notice that Almighty God HIMSELF is an ETERNAL SPIRIT that CANNOT DIE. In other words, Jesus CAME OUT FROM Almighty God when Yahweh spoke forth his WORD and his WORD then BECAME or was MADE a human being IN WHICH the Father DWELT IN to empower his SON Jesus to do the works that he sent or more precisely COMMISSIONED the Son of man to do. And when Jesus became obedient unto death on the cross, then his God and Father Yahweh highly exalted his SON Jesus and GAVE his SON the same IMMORTALITY that the Father Yahweh has always possessed so that now his SON Jesus is alive evermore never to die again) Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
19. Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;”
So then, clearly BOTH Almighty God the FATHER, which is, which was, and which is to come AND His SON Jesus, the now highly exalted Son of MAN, each says the same words, “I am the first and the last”. Now, CLEARLY, these TWO are NOT ONE and the SELF-SAME BEING. There can ONLY be ONE God who is the ALMIGHTY. And that ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God is the FATHER who is THE God OVER His SON Jesus who has been HIGHLY EXALTED BY HIS God and Father to be “A” God to rule and reign by his Father's right hand. Please read the study “IS JESUS ALMIGHTY GOD?” for a deeper understanding that YES, Jesus IS called GOD, but, Jesus is NOT THE ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God who ALONE is the FATHER. The Father and His SON Jesus are TWO SEPARATE persons or two separate beings. They are NOT ONE and the SELF-SAME BEING. The Bible clearly teaches us that we must believe in BOTH the SON Jesus AND in Almighty God the Father. And if we do NOT have the SON, then we do NOT have the Father either.
Therefore, simply saying these SAME words, “I am the first and the last” does NOT mean that Jesus himself IS ONE and the SELF-SAME BEING as THE ALMIGHTY God YAHWEH, who ALONE is the FATHER.
Well then, since simply saying these SAME words does NOT make them to BE ONE and the SELF SAME BEING, then what do these words, “I am the first and the last” truly mean? We will get to this answer as you continue this study in God's word, but first, I want us to follow the phrase, “which is, which was, and which is to come” all the way through the book of Revelation to chapter 5 where we will CLEARLY and PLAINLY see TWO separate beings in heaven For you see, both Oneness Pentecostal Christians and Trinitarian Christians argue that Jesus was ONLY under and subject to his God and Father on the earth. But as you will see from the Scriptures, they are still two separate beings up in heaven. Almighty God the Father is the one who SITS upon the THRONE and the LAMB OF Almighty God who was SLAIN from the foundation of the world who we all know to be Jesus the SON OF Almighty God the Father come OVER to the ONE who is SITTING on the THRONE. Please read Revelation 4:1-3 where John hears the FIRST voice as of a TRUMPET.
Revelation 4:1-3.
“After this, I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the FIRST VOICE which I heard was as it were of a TRUMPET talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will show you things which must be hereafter.
2. And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a THRONE was set in heaven, and ONE sat on the throne.
3. And He that sat (Speaking of ALMIGHTY God the Father who dwells in the light) was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.”
Please notice that this is a totally DIFFERENT description being given by John to the ONE being in ONE person who sits upon the throne and has a voice as of a trumpet than the description that John gave us for the Son of MAN who John actually SAW when he TURNED to SEE the one who had the voice of the TRUMPET. No man has ever seen ALMIGHTY God nor can they see the INVISIBLE eternal Spirit who dwells in the light. Now, God may reveal Himself in a VISION or manifest Himself as a burning bush or simply send an angel to represent Him. Or the invisible Almighty God may simply appear just as a VOICE like in the Old Testament where three men which we know were three ANGELS appeared to Abraham. But this does not mean that man has truly seen or UNDERSTOOD the INVISIBLE Almighty God who alone is the Father. No Christians would ever try to force the bushing bush to actually BE Almighty God Himself. It was simply a manifestation OF Almighty God.
Let us continue in this same chapter 4 of Revelation with verses 8 through verse 11 which clearly teaches us that the Lord God Almighty is the ONE being in ONE person who sits upon the throne. Again please notice the phrase “which was, and is, and is to come”.
Revelation 4:8-11.
“And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him, and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
9. And when those beasts give glory and honor and thanks to Him that sat on the throne, who lives forever and ever,
10. The four and twenty elders fall down before Him that sat on the throne, AND worship him that lives forever and ever, (Speaking of Jesus) and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11. You are WORTHY, O Lord, to RECEIVE glory and honor and POWER: (Or you Jesus our Lord have been found WORTHY to RECEIVE glory, honor and the ABILITY to give eternal life to the ALL of whosoever BELIEVES) for (Or BECAUSE OF) you have created all things, (The LITERAL translation reads “WORTHY you are master to be getting the esteem and the honor and the ABILITY that you CREATE the ALL and BECAUSE OF the WILL of YOU THEY ARE and ARE created” Remember Jesus praying to the Father and said not MY will but Your will be done. So BECAUSE OF the WILL of Jesus coming into AGREEMENT the ALL of whosoever BELIEVES are BEING created and will still yet BE created in the world to come during the 1000 year reign of Jesus. Jesus RECEIVED the power or the ABILITY to raise the dead and GIVE eternal life to the ALL of whosever BELIEVE. And that is WHY Jesus was found WORTHY to be WORSHIPED to the GLORY OF Almighty God the Father. The Greek word “translated as “pleasure in the KJV also means CHOICE referring to the CHOICE that Jesus made agonizing in prayer that if there be any over way but then choose to align his own will with his God and Father’s will. This has nothing to do with Jesus being the creator of everything that exists and everything to do with Jesus being found worth after the cross to receive glory and honor along with all authority and power to give eternal life to the all of the whosevers believes and also JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels along with the unsaved humans) and for your pleasure, they are and were created.”
Here we see that the ONE who sits upon the THRONE is the one being in one person who has the FIRST VOICE as of a TRUMPET who is clearly identified as being THE ALMIGHTY, which was, and is, and is to come. Notice all the SINGULAR pronouns. And also not the conjunction AND in verse 10 which teaches us that the one who is WORTHY is speaking of another separate BEING from the Almighty who sits on the throne. Jesus is still standing and not yet sitting on his God and Father’s throne.
Now, let us continue reading right on into the next chapter where we will see the LAMB OF Almighty God who was SLAIN from the foundation of the world COMING OVER TO the Lord God ALMIGHTY, which was, and is, and is to come who is SITTING ON the THRONE in order to take a book OUT the hand of his GOD and FATHER who in one being in one person that SITS upon the THRONE. So again, we CLEARLY and PLAINLY see TWO “ELOHIM” or TWO “THEOS” in heaven being Almighty God the Father AND His SON Jesus the LAMB OF God. Remember that the Lamb was slain for the sins of the world so that the ALL of WHOSOEVER believes in him shall have everlasting life in the world to come. The word “THINGS” is NOT in the original text.
Can you not see that the Hebrew word “ELOHIM” and the Greek word “THEOS” are only TITLES like we have the TITLE of the “president”. And the word “vice president” means IN PLACE OF the president in the absence of the president having the SAME authority and power of THE president. In other words, the word “God” is just a TITLE meaning one having authority and power. These words Elohim and theos in the original language mean a mighty one. The angels are called “ELOHIM” and even man is called “god”. Yahweh MADE Moses a god to Pharaoh for a short time but that does NOT mean that Moses or the angels are Almighty God Himself. Rather, the angels are gods under and subject to Yahweh that He Himself SET to be gods.
The truth of the matter is that these words are NOT capitalized in the original language so when we read in Hebrew 1:8 where Jesus IS God, this is TRUE. But some Christians INCORRECTLY conclude that this dogmatically, without fail, means that Jesus is THE ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God Himself. For you see, they FAIL to KEEP this verse in the CONTEXT of where it is found to CORRECTLY understand by reading the very next verse that Almighty God the Father is THE only TRUE God or a mightier one who is OVER His SON Jesus. Can you not see that there can only be ONE ALMIGHTY God who is over all over gods including His SON Jesus. Please read the study “OUR GOD IS ONE!” for a deeper understanding that Almighty God the Father alone is THE God of gods. But for now, let us continue this study in God's word concerning the phrase “I am the first and the last.” In a moment you will see the TRUE meaning of this phrase and WHY both Almighty God the Father AND His Son Jesus said these same words. Be patient. Right now, I am showing why Jesus is NOT one and the self-same BEING as the one true and ONLY Almighty God and that the Father MADE His human Son Lord and God of the EARTH and not the whole universe.
Please read Revelation 5:1-10.
“And I saw in the right hand of HIM that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
2. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? (Now, you have to ask yourself the question why this angel was looking for a MAN who is WORTHY when surely Almighty God sitting on the throne is worthy to open the seals)
3. And no MAN in heaven, nor in the earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
4. And I wept much because no MAN (Can you not see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus the CHRIST, the ANOINTED MAN, was needed for Jesus to be found a worthy MAN in order to redeem mankind back to the Father of all, but at FIRST, John did not see any MAN that) was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. (Can you not see that Almighty God would not need to suffer and die on the cross to be found WORTHY. The Bible itself teaches us that Jesus was a MAN and a separate being from Almighty God. Jesus was not made Lord and God until AFTER the cross. It was AFTER the cross that Thomas called Jesus by the TITLE Lord and God)
5. And one of the elders said unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, (Or do not weep any longer John for the Son of MAN, Jesus) has prevailed (Conquered and subdued the enemy Satan to be found WORTHY) to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
6. And I beheld, and, lo, (Or be you PERCEIVING that) in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a LAMB as it had been slain, (Which we all know and agree is Jesus the SON OF Almighty God the Father who is NOT the Father Himself. And, therefore, the SON OF God is NOT ALMIGHTY God Himself who ALONE is the FATHER. It is Yahweh who is the designer, planner, thinker, and SOURCE of all creation who raised up from among the people or mankind a Savior who would be obedient to do all his Father's WILL. In other words, Almighty God provided for Himself His own LAMB to redeem mankind back to Himself. The Father kept SECRET His plain for His LAMB to be slain from His enemy. And had Satan known he would not have stirred up the Jews to have the Romans crucify Jesus) having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
7. And he (Speaking of Jesus the LAMB, the SON OF Almighty God the Father who sits on the throne) came and took the book OUT OF the right hand of Him (Referring to the Lord God ALMIGHTY, which was, and is, and is to come) that sat upon the throne.
8. And when he (Jesus the LAMB, the SON OF Almighty God the Father) had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints.
9. And they sang a new song, saying, You (Jesus) are WORTHY (Or you have been FOUND to be WORTHY) to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for (Or BECAUSE) you (Jesus) were SLAIN, and have redeemed us to God (Or you Jesus have redeemed us to Almighty God the Father) by your blood, out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10. And (You, Jesus, being understood pronoun) have made us unto our God (Meaning YOUR God AND OUR God, you Jesus our BROTHER have made us, as in you yourself and us) kings and priests: and we (Together WITH you, Jesus) shall reign on the earth.”
So then, now that it has clearly been established by the clear, plain, and simple word of Almighty God that Jesus will ALWAYS continue to be Jesus, as a SEPARATE and completely DIFFERENT person or being from his God and Father, the Lord God ALMIGHTY, then we can now proceed to learn what the TRUE meaning of the phrase, “I am the first and the last” and why BOTH Almighty God the Father and HIS SON Jesus spoke the same exact phrase, “I am the FIRST and the LAST”.
The word that translated as “FIRST” here in Revelation 1:11,17 means foremost in time, place, order, and importance, this Greek word “PROTOS” means chief, first, former, beginning, and best. And the word that is translated as “LAST” in this same passage of Scripture means final, last, end, lowest, least, utmost. Well, we know that Almighty God is the HIGHEST and is God OVER His SON Jesus. And we also know that Almighty God is the SOURCE of all. And, therefore, Yahweh is the source of all other gods including appointing His Son Jesus to be a God under Him.
There should be no argument or disagreement that the HUMAN Jesus did indeed have a BEGINNING. Please understand that we are NOT talking about the WORD, but rather, we are talking about AFTER the Word was MADE flesh to be BORN as the HUMAN Jesus IN WHICH his God and Father DWELT. In other words, Almighty God was WITH His human Son by DWELLING IN His human Son, Jesus.
Now, let us go back to the Old Testament to take a CLOSER look that Yahweh saying these same words “I am the FIRST and I am the last”.
Please read Isaiah 44:6,7.
“Thus says the LORD the King of Israel, AND His redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; (Again, we are reading a “TRANSLATION” and not the original Hebrew text. The word “translated as “I” also means “WE”. Please notice that there are TWO separate beings named Yahweh. The FIRST Yahweh, the King of Israel is the one speaking saying I am the FIRST. And in the last half of this phrase, Yahweh is saying WE are the last. In other words, in the world to come BOTH Yahweh the Father who GAVE His human Son Jesus His REDEEMED His own NAME Yahweh of hosts which means Yahweh of war or Yahweh of armies gathered for war. So this phrase should read “I am the FIRST and WE are the last”) and BESIDE me (Or APART FROM and WITHOUT me) there is no God.
7. And who, as I, SHALL CALL, and shall DECLARE it, (Or declare him whom I SHALL CALL) and SET it in order for me, (Or WHO Yahweh SHALL CALL and declare him and SET him to order FOR me. Or to SET him to be equal with me to sit at my right hand on my throne together WITH me) since I APPOINTED the ancient people? (Speaking of the angels that were appointed as Elohim or gods by Yahweh Himself in ancient times before God created Adam. And more specifically, the fallen angels that are waiting to be judged. For you see, the compound Hebrew word “translated” as appointed also means to TRAD DOWN. So the things that are coming are the destroying of Satan and the fallen angels AND the REPLACING of them with Jesus and the righteous saints. In other words, we also shall be called Elohim of gods under Jesus our Lord God who is under THE ONE TRUE and only Almighty God who alone is the FATHER. Yahweh prophesied NEW THINGS before they come to pass) And the things that are coming, and shall come, let them show unto them.
Again, the first pronoun “them” is Jesus and us” and the second pronoun “them” is Lucifer, aka, Satan, and the fallen angels that we along with our brother Jesus will JUDGE. Know you not that WE will judge the angels? Now let us read another verse in the Old Testament that prophesies that Yahweh will be WITH the LAST. So again, we see that the WE, as in both Yahweh the Father AND His now highly exalted human Son are the LAST. Yahweh ALONE is the FIRST and WE are the LAST is the true sound Biblical meaning of the phrase “I am the first and I am the last” that has been incorrectly translated.
Please read Isaiah 41:4.
“Who has wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and WITH the last; I am he.”
Or I Yahweh, the first, have DONE THIS. For you see, it was the FIRST Yahweh who contrived His plan of Salvation to provide Himself with His redeemer that He Himself would HIGHLY exalt and GIVE him a NEW NAME that is ABOVE every other name except the NAME Yahweh. And the NEW NAME of the now glorified Son of MAN, Jesus, is Yahweh of hosts. And it is the FIRST Yahweh who PERFORMED His own spoken word of PROPHECY. Let us go ahead and read the CONTEXT of Isaiah 41:4 so you can see what I am saying more clearly. In Isaiah 41:1-4, we learn that BOTH Almighty God AND His SON Jesus TOGETHER come to execute the wrath of judgment at the second coming of Jesus. According to Acts 17:31, Almighty God the Father will judge the world BY the MAN Jesus anointed whom He Himself ORDAINED.
Please read Isaiah 41:1-4.
“Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us (Speaking of Yahweh the Father talking in PROPHECY to His now glorified human Son coming together to be allied together as one in unity and agreement saying prophetically, let us) COME near TOGETHER (Or let us APPROACH or JOIN together UNITEDLY) to judgment.
2. WHO raised up the RIGHTEOUS MAN from the east, (A prophecy of the righteous MAN as being the ANOINTED Son of MAN, Jesus, the SON OF Almighty God. In other words, this is a PROPHECY of the COMING Messiah who will execute the WRATH of Almighty God the Father WHO raised up Jesus and) called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? He gave them as the dust to His sword, and as driven stubble to His bow. (Yahweh’s Lord whom He Himself MADE Lord, according to Acts 2:36, is the weapon in Yahweh’s hand, according to Jeremiah 51:19,20)
3. He pursued them, and passed safely; even by the way that he had not gone with his feet.
4. WHO has wrought and done it, CALLING the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the FIRST, (Clearly, speaking of Yahweh the Almighty God who ALONE is the Father) and WITH the LAST; (Speaking of Yahweh’s now glorified human Son Jesus the RIGHTEOUS MAN who Almighty God the Father raised up to execute His judgment and wrath) I AM he .”
The last phrase “I am he” is referring back to the question WHO has DONE this” So the I am he is referring to the FIRST Yahweh. I other words, the first Yahweh is NOT saying that he is one and the self-same being as the last Yahweh who was GIVEN the name Yahweh of host and Yahweh our Righteousness whom the first Yahweh highly exalted and MADE Lord over the earth to rule FOR the first Yahweh for 1000 years in the world to come.
So then, here in this passage of Scripture in Isaiah chapter 41, we see TWO, who are: #1. Almighty God, I the Lord, Yahweh, WHO wrought and has done all these things CALLING them or SPEAKING them forth by His word of PROPHECY from “A” beginning that began AFTER Lucifer and the fallen angle wagged WAR against Yahweh to try and take over His throne. In other words, the “FIRST” is Almighty God Yahweh who will come WITH His REDEEMER, His now glorified human SON, Jesus, who is the “LAST, at the SECOND COMING of Jesus. Please keep in mind that this is a PROPHECY of the second coming of Jesus. Then Almighty God the Father says I am he, WHO has raised up this RIGHTEOUS MAN to be my Redeemer to redeem mankind back to myself, I am he the one who called all these things into being.
Now, let us go back to the New Testament and read Revelation 1:17,18 so you can see that the translators of the KJV and some other translations did NOT translate the Greek word “kia” which is the first word in verse 18. And by OMITTING the conjunction “AND” in verse 18 it changes the meaning of those two verses that should be read together as one thought. We will read these two verses as they have been translated in the KJV and then I will read them the way I believe that they should have been translated.
Revelation 1:17,18 from the King James Version.
“And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: (To me, Jesus is simply QUOTING part of a verse of Scripture from the Old Testament to show us the PROPHECY that he is the LAST the one prophesied to come. But WITH the conjunction “AND” it seems as if Jesus is saying that he himself is the first and the last)
18. (G2543 the Greek word “kia” usually translated as AND in omitted) I am he that lives, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”
Now, let us read these verses again WITH the Greek word “kia” TRANSLATED instead of being OMITTED.
Revelation 1:17,18 the way it should have been translated.
“And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: (To me, Jesus is simply QUOTING part of a verse of Scripture from the Old Testament to show us the PROPHECY that he is the LAST the one prophesied to come)
18. AND I am he (Speaking of the LAST in the prophecy that I just quoted prophesying of me being the LAST. I am he) that lives, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”
Also, I find it interesting that the Greek word translated as “last” also means the LOWEST. Remember that the first estate of Jesus was that he was made a little LOWER than the angels. And then AFTER the cross his God and Father CROWNED him with glory, honor, and POWER to be a God LOWER than Yahweh, his God, and Father.
Here is how E-Sword defines the Greek word translated as last (G2078).

Remember that there “I AM” is written TWO times in the KJV as “I AM that I AM” So WHICH “I AM” is referring t Jesus” Is Jesus the FIRST “I AM” or is Jesus the LAST “I AM”
Did Jesus make himself Lord and Christ in Acts 2:36? Or did his God and Father, Yahweh, make Jesus both Lord and Christ? When we read the Greek Septuagint of Exodus 3:14 we can CLEARLY see that Jesus is saying that he is the LAST “I AM” who was MADE BY or brought into existence BY the FIRST “I AM”.
For you see, in truth, the words “I AM” are NOT God’s NAME. Please watch the first 4 minutes and 10 seconds of this short 6 1/2-minute video before continuing with this study in God's word. You can watch the whole video if you like. The second person in the video is just making some more comments to point out that God’s actual NAME is in verse 15 which is Yahweh or Jehovah as he likes to pronounce YHWH. And here is a written explanation of Exodus 3:14,15 if you do not care to watch the video. Here is Exodus 3:14 in the Greek Septuagint. Now you do not need to read Greek to follow what I am saying. Simply know and understand that the two Greek words highlighted in yellow mean “I am”. These two Greek words convey the meaning I am SOMETHING. So the SOMETHING that Yahweh the creator is saying that he is, I will highlight in orange. Please notice that ὁ ὢν, which is the SOMETHING that God is saying that he is, appears TWICE. But the two Greeks words ἐγώ εἰμι meaning “I am” only appears ONE TIME. The English translation is below to help follow along.
Exodus 3:14 in the Greek.
“14, καὶ εἶπεν ὁ Θεὸς πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων· ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ ὤν. καὶ εἶπεν· οὕτως ἐρεῖς τοῖς υἱοῖς ᾿Ισραήλ· ὁ ὢν ἀπέσταλκέ με πρὸς ὑμᾶς.”
Exodus 3:14 in English.
“14. And God spoke to Moses, saying, I am THE BEING; and he said, Thus shall ye say to the children of Israel, THE BEING has sent me to you.”
In other words, if Jesus would have said, “Before Abraham was, ὁ ὢν” instead of saying, “Before Abraham was, ἐγώ εἰμι,” then the Trinitarian and Oneness Pentecostal INTERPRETATION of John 8:58 might have some validity. But Jesus did NOT say, “Before Abraham was, ὁ ὢν”. Or “Before Abraham was, THE BEING. Rather, Jesus said, “Before Abraham was ἐγώ εἰμι”, which again, should have been translated as “Before Abraham was, I am [he]” with the IMPLIED or UNDERSTOOD pronoun [he] added for clarity. In other words, Jesus is saying that he is the SOMETHING that Yahweh PROPHESIED to be COMING into existence. And if it was correctly translated in this way with the pronoun “he” in italics or in brackets then the meaning of these words of Jesus in John 8:58 would easily be seen to mean that Jesus is saying, I am [he, the MESSIAH] because that is what the CONTEXT teaches us. And another possible translation of John 8:58, seeing that there were no commas in the Greek text, would be as follows.
“Before Abraham I was to be”
In other words, Jesus is saying, “Before Abraham was even born I was prophesied to be coming into existence.” To me, that is no doubt that Jesus is saying that he is the LAST “I AM” in Exodus 3:14 and NOT that he himself is the FIRST “I AM”. Again, the actual NAME of God is NOT “I AM”. But rather, the NAME of God FOREVER is Yahweh which is found in verse 15. Please read the study “JOHN 8:58 BEFORE ABRAHAM I AM!”
Before we move on to the next passage of Scripture I would like to go back to Isaiah 44:6 and take an even closer look because there are two possible interpretations. We already covered one possible interpretation which is that the Yahweh of hosts is Yahweh’s REDEEMER, as in, Yahweh’s coming Messiah to be the redeemer of the ALL of whosever believes. And the other possible interpretation is that the Yahweh of host IS the redeemer OF his human Son from DEATH whom He Himself MADE or SET to be His King over Israel. To me, either interpretation does not contradict any other verse of Scripture. But, I myself, prefer this interpretation below because it harmonizes the best with all the other verses that have the phrase LORD of hosts in them. Let us read Isaiah 44:6 again and you decide which of the two interpretations best agrees with the WHOLE word of Almighty God.
Isaiah 44:6.
“Thus says the LORD (Or thus say YAHWEH) the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of host; (Speaking of Yahweh the Father as being the REDEEMER OF His human Son, Jesus, from the GRAVE) I am the first, AND I am the last; (Or more specifically WE are the last or I am WITH the last) and BESIDE ME (Or APART FROM me or WITHOUT me) there is no God.”
And here is another interpretation but the above interpretation, to me, is the best. Notice that there are still TWO separate beings or persons NAMED Yahweh. But only ONE Yahweh has always existed as the FIRST Yahweh and the LAST was GIVEN the NAME Yahweh AFTER the cross to rule TOGETHER WITH the FIRST Yahweh his God and Father. The only difference between the two interpretations is the word REDEEMER. It can be both ways. In other words, the REDEEMER can be the Father’s MESSIAH that He Himself raised up. Or the REDEEMER can be the Father redeeming His human Son from DEATH by raising him from the dead and GIVING him the divine nature of IMMORTALITY to never die again. So you chose which Yahweh that Jesus is. Is Jesus Yahweh the King of Israel? That is what I believe is the best interpretation. Or is Jesus that Yahweh of hosts? Remember that the word host means war and the armies gathered for war and Jesus will have the armies following him on white horses. BUT in other verses, the LORD of host best fits Yahweh the Father who GAVE His highly exalted human Son Hos own NAME Yahweh so that AT the NAME Yahweh every knee will bow and confess Jesus as Lord to the glory of Almighty God the Father. Again, you decide which Yahweh Jesus is.
Isaiah 4:6.
“Thus says the LORD the King of Israel, AND His redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; (Again, we are reading a “TRANSLATION” and not the original Hebrew text. The word “translated as “I” also means “WE”. Please notice that there are TWO separate beings named Yahweh. The FIRST Yahweh, the King of Israel, is the one speaking saying I am the FIRST. And in the last half of this phrase, Yahweh is saying WE are the last, the REDEEMER, the Yahweh of hosts. In other words, in the world to come BOTH Yahweh the Father who GAVE His human Son Jesus His REDEEMER His own NAME Yahweh of hosts which means Yahweh of war or Yahweh of armies gathered for war. And TOGETHER they both will REDEEM mankind, as in, the ALL of whosever BELIEVE. So this phrase should read “I am the FIRST and WE are the last”) and BESIDE me (Or APART FROM and WITHOUT me) there is no God.”
And the first Yahweh is, indeed, the ETERNAL King who SET His FIRSTBORN Son to be a King of kings higher than the kings of the earth. And Jesus was BORN for the PURPOSE of being the King of Israel. So again, both interpretations agree with God’s word. Please understand that there were NOT two Yahweh’s in the eternity past. The Son of MAN, Jesus was GIVEN the NAME Yahweh AFTER the cross. Jesus was MADE Lord AFTER the cross to be called My Lor by his Lord and Father. Everything that Jesus IS and everything that Jesus HAS was GIVEN to him BY his God and Father, the FIRST Yahweh who ALONE is the CREATOR.
Now rather than try and explain AWAY all these verses you have just read in this study in God's word so you can cling to the doctrine of Oneness or the doctrine of the Trinity why not take a CLOSER look at those verses which seem to be saying that Jesus pre-existed. Here is a list of in-depth Bible studies on every verse that I have come across that is used to try and prove the Doctrine of the Trinity and or the Doctrine of Oneness.

And to me, the truth concerning who Jesus TRULY is, according to the Bible ITSELF, is the Biblical Unitarian view of Jesus.
Once Christians, Jews, Muslims, and even atheists understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands.
And after you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels.
