The Son of MAN, Jesus, BECAME a DEITY After the Cross!
I was raised in the Roman Catholic Church which teaches that Jesus is God the Son, the second person of the Godhead.
Then at age 23, I became a born-again Christian in the Assemblies of God Church and they TAUGHT that Jesus is God in the flesh, being FULLY GOD and fully man at the same time.
And one of the Scriptures that all Trinitarian Christians use to teach these two-natures of Jesus doctrine called the Deity of Jesus as being FULLY THE one true GOD in the flesh, is Colossians 2:9.
Colossians 2:9.
“For in him (Speaking of in the Son of MAN, Jesus) dwells all the FULLNESS of the Godhead BODILY.”
Now, the Oneness Pentecostal Christians dogmatically state this verse means that Jesus is the FULLNESS of the Godhead BODILY.
And, to them, this means that Yahweh the Father manifested Himself an EMPTY BODY in the womb of the Virgin Mary to dwell in. In other words,
Oneness Pentecostal Christians teach that Almighty God manifested Himself in a BODILY FORM.
And, therefore, to them, Jesus is the Father, as in, the Father and the Son are ONE and the self-same ONE God is ONE being.
And the doctrine of the Trinity states that this verse means that God the Son, the second person of the Godhead Trinity God incarnated himself to become flesh and yet remain FULLY God.
Now, both the Oneness Christians and the Trinitarian Christians claim that this verse PROVES beyond any shadow of a doubt that Jesus is Almighty God HIMSELF in the flesh, as in, being FULLY God and fully a man at the SAME time having TWO NATURES.
Again, these two natures of Jesus doctrine are called the Deity of Jesus which states that during the days of the flesh of Jesus was fully God and man at the same time having two natures, one nature that is the DIVINE nature, and the other nature being his human nature.
And by the way, this two-nature theory, consequently, demands that Jesus also himself had TWO WILLS, his DIVINE will, and his human will.
And that fact alone refutes the Oneness Pentecostal teaching that Jesus is NOT a separate person from the Father.
BUT what does the WHOLE word of God have to say on this subject?
First of all, please read this verse again more closely to see what it is actually stating as fact which agrees with the rest of God’s word with absolutely no interpretation needed to understand the SIMPLICITY of the TRUTH.
And the simplicity of the true gospel of Jesus Christ is that the FULLNESS of Almighty God the Father DWELT in Jesus and NOT that Jesus himself is the fullness of the Godhead in a bodily form as the Oneness Pentecostal Christians wrongly teach.
Colossians 2:9.
“For in him (Speaking of the Son of MAN, Jesus) DWELLS all the FULLNESS of the Godhead BODILY.”
Do you see that my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ? Almighty God the Father, who ALONE is the Godhead or the head God, the highest of all other gods, the ALMIGHTY God HIMSELF, DWELT in the Son of MAN, Jesus, during the days of his FLESH.
This interpretation agrees with the doctrine of “CHRIST” which is the teaching of the Apostles that the ANOINTING of the Holy Spirit and the power of Almighty God DWELT in the Son of MAN, Jesus.

But there is also another interpretation of this Scripture in Colossians 2:9 which is Almighty God the Father GIVING the Son of MAN, Jesus, the very DIVINE NATURE of immortality to BECOME a God to rule FOR Yahweh the Father during the world to come for 1000 years.
We will take a close look at both of these interpretations in this in-depth study of God’s word.
Let me start by saying that there are no verses of Scripture that even hint at Jesus having TWO natures at the same time DURING the days of his FLESH from his conception in the womb of the Virgin Mary to his death on the cross.
But AFTER the cross the Bible clearly teaches us of a GLORIFIED Son of MAN, Jesus who has been GIVEN all power and authority to JUDGE the fallen angels and the world. And DURING the days of his flesh Jesus could do NOTHING OF himself.
But rather, it was the FATHER DWELLING in Jesus who did the mighty works that men saw Jesus do.
Now, with this mindset of the one true and only Almighty God the FATHER dwelling in his SON Jesus I want you to read the other two places where the word Godhead appears and you will see with your spiritual eyes OPENED that the term “GODHEAD” always refers to Almighty God the FATHER in each and every occurrence in the Bible.
The English word “Godhead” is found only three times in the entire Bible in the King James Version. And all three times, it is found in the New Testament.
It is found here in Colossians 2:9, which we just read. Then it is found in Romans 1:20 which we will look at next.
After that, we will compare these two verses with the word “Godhead” to the third time it is found, which is in Acts 17:29.
Romans 1:20.
“For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so they are without excuse:”
Then in Acts 17:29, we read.
“For as much then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.”
Again, both Oneness Christians and Trinitarian Christians INTERPRET these verses differently. And thus, to them, Jesus is the FULLNESS of the Godhead BODILY based upon THEIR OWN personal INTERPRETATION of Colossians 2:9.
But there is another interpretation of all three of these verses that, to me, is the only SOUND Biblical interpretation that we have already learned.
Meaning that the fullness of the Godhead is Almighty God the FATHER who DWELT in the Son of MAN, Jesus as opposed to the INTERPRETATION that Jesus is Almighty God Himself in the flesh that is taught by Oneness and Trinitarian Christians.
In other words, it is NOT sound Biblical teaching to say that Jesus, the SON of Almighty God the Father, is HIMSELF the fullness of the Godhead. For you see, the Scriptures say that the fullness of the Godhead DWELT in him.
And both of the interpretations that the ANOINTING of God dwelt in the Son of man, during the days of his flesh, and the fullness of DEITY abides in the now GLORIFIED Son of man, Jesus, agrees 100% with every verse in the entire Bible having no contradictions.
These two interpretations are taught by Biblical Unitarians which I just learned a few years ago about Biblical Unitarian Christians and I was so glad to find other Christians who believed the same as what the Holy Spirit was teaching me.
But to other Christians like the Oneness believers, who teach that Jesus is the FATHER, and to the Trinitarian Christians, who teach the doctrine of the Trinity, they sincerely believe that this verse in Colossians 2:9 PROVES beyond any shadow of a doubt to them that Jesus is Almighty GOD HIMSELF in the flesh.
As in, Jesus being FULLY GOD and fully man at the same time having two natures and two wills, one divine, and one human.
This teaching called the DEITY of Jesus comes from both of these two groups of Christians, who teach the doctrine of the Trinity, and the Christians, who teach the doctrine of Oneness.
Once again the doctrine of the Deity of Jesus states that Jesus is the one true and only Almighty God HIMSELF in the flesh being fully THE one true God and also being fully a human being at the SAME time.
Thus having TWO natures, a DIVINE NATURE, and a human nature, which consequently means that Jesus had TWO WILLS as well, a divine will and a human will.
But again, WHERE are the SCRIPTURES?
There are no verses of Scripture that teach us that Jesus had two natures at the SAME time during the day of his FLESH.
So again what does the WHOLE word of God have to say on this subject?
As I have said on many occasions that ANY verse when taken OUT of CONTEXT and viewed APART from the WHOLE word of God, may SEEM to be saying, or might be made and forced to say something that it is NOT TRULY saying.
Now, it SEEMS like Jesus is God because Jesus did many things that ONLY God can do.
And thus, that is why some Christians WRONGLY teach that Jesus is God in the flesh having TWO nature, one divine, and the other human.
But when verses of Scripture are KEPT in their CONTEXT of where they are found then the TRUTH of the WHOLE will be CORRECTLY discerned.
So let us continue this study in God's word to see WHO is the Godhead by correctly interpreting the Scripture in the LIGHT of the whole word of Almighty God.
#1. Is Almighty God the Father the Godhead?
#2. Is Jesus the Godhead?
#3. Is the Holy Spirit the Godhead?
Or
#4. Is Almighty God the Father, Jesus the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit all three together in unity the Godhead?
Let us begin by reading these three occurrences of the English word “Godhead” being LEFT in their CONTEXT beginning with Romans 1:16-23 where Paul is speaking.
Romans 1:16-23.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: (Or the gospel of the ANOINTING) for it (The true gospel of Jesus ANOINTED) is the power of GOD unto salvation to everyone that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Romans 1:17. For THEREIN (Speaking of everyone that BELIEVES the TRUE gospel of Jesus the Christ, the ANOINTED Son of MAN) is the righteousness of GOD REVEALED from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. (Jesus overcame sin THROUGH the Eternal Spirit dwelling in him.
And now we, as true born-again Christians have the same anointing of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us to empower us to overcome sin as well.

Romans 1:18. For the wrath of GOD is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; (The wrath of Almighty God is committed into the hands of His SON Jesus by the Father.
So then, GOD all the way through this entire passage of Scripture is always referring to the FATHER and NOT to His SON Jesus)
Romans 1:19. Because that which may be known of GOD is MANIFEST in them (Speaking of being manifested in men or mankind) for GOD has shown it to them. (HOW has God REVEALED, shown, and MANIFESTED Himself to all of mankind WITHOUT the hearing of the gospel of his SON Jesus the CHRIST?)
Romans 1:20. FOR (Or BECAUSE) the invisible things of Him (Almighty God) from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being UNDERSTOOD by the things that are MADE, even HIS (Referring to Almighty God the Father as being HIS) eternal power and Godhead; (Jesus had no power of his own UNTIL His God and Father the Almighty GAVE His SON Jesus all power and authority AFTER God glorified the Son of MAN after God resurrected Him from the dead.
So, the ONLY Potentate who has always possessed ETERNAL power is the FATHER. And in this verse, the Father is also identified as being the “GODHEAD”.
The term Godhead can be understood as the HEAD God, the ALMIGHTY God over all other gods INCLUDING being the GODHEAD over His SON Jesus, whom the Father HIMSELF highly exalted to BECOME a God to sit and rule at his Father's right hand on his Father's throne.
But even without ever hearing the true gospel of Jesus Christ where Jesus explains who the TRUE God is, Yahweh can be understood to exist by what He CREATED) so that they (Speaking of all of mankind) are without excuse,
Romans 1:21. because when they knew GOD, they glorified Him not as GOD, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations (THINKING or REASONING) and their foolish heart was darkened. (Every person has a CONSCIENCE whereby they know right from wrong.
But some people harden their own heart or conscience)
Romans 1:22. PROFESSING themselves to be WISE, they became fools
Romans 1:23. And CHANGED the GLORY of the UNCORRUPTIBLE GOD (Again, referring to Almighty God the Father) into an image made like to corruptible MAN, and to birds, and four-footed beast, and creeping things.
Romans 1:24. Wherefore GOD also gave them up to uncleanness through lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:
Romans 1:25. Who CHANGE the TRUTH of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature MORE than the CREATOR, who is blessed forever. Amen.”
So then, when Romans 1:20, the verse in question, is left in its CONTEXT you can clearly see that Almighty God the Father who ALONE is the CREATOR is the GODHEAD being spoken of in this entire passage of Scripture.
Now some Christians may argue that Jesus is the creator of all things based upon their own personal INTERPRETATION of some verse in the New Testament.
But in truth, the WHOLE word of God does NOT teach us that God’s SON is the creator of all things.
For a SOUND Biblical teaching of who is the CREATOR, Jesus or Almighty God the Father, please read all the studies under the two headings ** P-0. Jesus Is NOT the CREATOR! ** and ** O-0. WAS JESUS CREATED? **
But for now, please read Isaiah 44:24 which clearly teaches us that Yahweh ALONE created all things by HIMSELF ALONE and no one was WITH him when the Almighty alone by himself created all things.
Isaiah 44:24.
“Thus says the LORD, your redeemer, and HE that formed YOU from the womb, (This is a prophecy of Jesus yet to be formed by Yahweh HIMSELF in the womb of Mary to be begotten as the Son of MAN, a HUMAN being stripped of all DIVINE NATURE. Please read the study U-6. WHAT DOES GOD INCARNATE MEAN?. But for now, please know and understand that this verse is a prophecy of Jesus yet to be formed in the womb of the Virgin Mary.
Yahweh is speaking to his human SON Jesus who read this verse hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit speaking to him saying, I Yahweh who formed YOU, my son, in the womb) I am the LORD that makes ALL things; that stretches forth the heavens ALONE; that spreads abroad the earth by MYSELF;”
So then, in BOTH of the first two verses where the English word “Godhead” is found, we have learned that each of those verses is speaking of Almighty God the Father ALONE being the Godhead.
Now let us take a close look at Acts 17:22-31 where again you will clearly see that the Godhead is Almighty God the Father ALONE and NOT the Son of MAN, Jesus even AFTER God glorified the Son of man and committed all judgment into his hands.
I will highlight all the words that refer to Almighty God the Father in orange.
Acts 17:22-31.
“Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars hill, and said, You men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are superstitious.
Acts 17:23. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, to THE UNKNOWN GOD. (Speaking of the ONLY TRUE God whom Jesus came to declare or reveal to us) Whom, therefore, you ignorantly worship, HIM declare I unto you.
Acts 17:24. GOD (Almighty God the Father who alone in the creator) that made the world and ALL things therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven and earth, DWELLS NOT in temples made with hands;
Acts 17:25. Neither is worshiped with men's hands, as though He needs anything, seeing He (Almighty God the Father the SOURCE of all life both mortal and eternal life) gives to all life and breath and all things;
Acts 17:26. And has made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
Acts 17:27. That they should seek the Lord if haply they might feel after Him and find Him, though He is not far from every one of us:
Acts 17:28. For in Him we live and move and have our being: as certain also of your poets have said, for we are His OFFSPRING.
2Acts 17:9. For as much then as we are the offspring of GOD we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. (The Bible always calls us the sons and daughters of God and never the sons, daughters of the offspring of Jesus or the offspring of the SON of God.
So again, we can clearly see that the “Godhead” is speaking of Almighty God the FATHER and NOT his Son Jesus)
Acts 17:30. And the times of ignorance God winked at but NOW commands all men everywhere to repent:
Acts 17:31. Because He (Still referring to Almighty God the Father the ONE Godhead in ONE person) has appointed a day, in which He (The Father) will judge the world in RIGHTEOUSNESS by the MAN whom He has ORDAINED; whereof He (The Godhead who is the Father ALONE) has given assurance unto all men, in that He (The eternal Godhead, Almighty God the Father) has raised HIM (The Son of MAN, Jesus Christ, the SON of the eternal Godhead) from the dead.”
Again, we can clearly see from the CONTEXT of this passage of Scripture that the GODHEAD is Almighty God the Father ALONE who will judge mankind by the MAN whom he himself ordained, appointed, chose, elected, commissioned, and anointed to be his Savior, his SON Jesus the Christ.
God MADE Jesus become both Christ AND Lord.
Now let us go back to the verse in question, Colossians 2:9, and see what it says in TRUTH, being left in its CONTEXT.
Colossians 2:8,9.
“BEWARE lest any man spoils you through PHILOSOPHY and VAIN DECEIT, after the TRADITIONS of MEN, after the rudiments of the world, and NOT after CHRIST (Meaning NOT after the doctrine of Christ which is the TEACHING of the ANOINTING of Jesus the SON of MAN by the Godhead. Please read Acts 10:38, “How God ANOINTED Jesus of Nazareth WITH the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was WITH him.”)
Colossians 2:9. For (Or BECAUSE) in him (Or in the Son of MAN, Jesus, the SON of Almighty God the Father DWELLS the Christ or DWELLS the ANOINTING of the Holy Spirit.
In other words, Do NOT let any man DECEIVE you by TRADITIONS of man-made doctrines in the church BECAUSE in Jesus) DWELLS all the FULLNESS of the Godhead (Almighty God the Father) BODILY.”
Here we see that in the ANOINTING that was DWELLING in Jesus was the FULLNESS of the GODHEAD dwelling in the FLESH which is what the doctrine of Christ teaches.
So then, the WHOLE word of God CLEARLY says that in the human BODY of the MAN Jesus DWELT the FULLNESS of ALMIGHTY GOD the Father HIMSELF, which is the GODHEAD, the MOST-HIGH God, or HEAD God over ALL things, INCLUDING His SON Jesus. And this interpretation agrees with the whole word of God.
Please read 1 Corinthians 11:3 which says.
“But I would have you to KNOW that the HEAD of every man is CHRIST, and the HEAD of every woman is the man: and the HEAD of CHRIST (Speaking of Jesus the ANOINTED one of Almighty God. In other words, the HEAD of JESUS, the ANOINTED one) is GOD.”
The TRUTH of the matter is that the clear, plain, and simple word of God does NOT say that JESUS himself is the FULLNESS of the Godhead BODILY.
But rather, the Bible ITSELF says in SIMPLICITY with absolutely no interpretation needed that in him or in Jesus DWELLS all the FULLNESS of the Godhead BODILY.
In other words, in the human BODY of the Son of MAN, Jesus, DWELT the FULLNESS of Almighty God in the presence of the Holy Spirit of Almighty God the Father in the same manner that the eternal Holy Spirit now DWELLS in us as believers in Jesus as the Christ, the SON of the living God.
Can you not see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, that the GODHEAD is the HIGHEST God or the HEAD God and that Jesus has Almighty God the Father OVER him as his God and Father?
So to me, it is impossible for Jesus to literally be Almighty God Himself.
And that is why I must believe that Jesus is the IMAGE of the one true and only Almighty God who ALONE is the FATHER.
So again, how does the FULLNESS of the GODHEAD, which is Almighty God, DWELL in Jesus?
Please take another look at Acts 10:38 which says.
“How GOD (Almighty God the Father, the Godhead) ANOINTED Jesus of Nazareth WITH the HOLY GHOST and with power: who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil; (HOW? How did Jesus heal the sick who were oppressed of the devil when Jesus himself said that he could do NOTHING of himself in John?) FOR (Or BECAUSE) GOD (The Godhead, Almighty God the Father) was WITH him.”
Almighty God was WITH Jesus in the ANOINTING of the Holy Spirit.
So then, the FULLNESS of Almighty God the Father, the GODHEAD, DWELT in Jesus THROUGH the ANOINTING of the Holy Spirit to EMPOWER Jesus to do the mighty works of healing that men saw Jesus do.
Now read Colossians 1:19, which gives us the reason why Almighty God the Father chose to DWELL in his SON Jesus.
Colossians 1:19.
“For it PLEASED the FATHER that in Him (Or in his SON Jesus) should all FULLNESS DWELL.”
Then John 1:17 tells us that this same FULLNESS is also given to us who BELIEVE.
John 1:17.
“And of his FULLNESS (The FULLNESS who DWELT in Jesus) have all WE RECEIVED, and grace for grace.”
Then we read in Ephesians 1:19-22.
“And what is the exceeding greatness of His POWER to us-WARD who BELIEVE, according to the working of His mighty power, which He (Almighty God the Father) wrought in Christ, (Or which Almighty God, the Godhead, wrought in his anointed one) when He raised him from the dead and set him (The now glorified Son of MAN, Jesus) at His own right hand in heavenly places,
Ephesians 1:20. Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this world but also in the world to come:
Ephesians 1:21. And has put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the CHURCH,
Ephesians 1:22. Which is his BODY, the FULLNESS of him that fills all in all.”
Jesus was given all power and authority after God raised him from the dead to fill believers with the same Holy Spirit and power that dwelt in Jesus during his MINISTRY after his baptism by John the Baptist.
So here in this passage of Scripture, we see that we, the church, are the fullness of Jesus but this does not make us be Jesus.
But rather, this means that the church, the body of Jesus Christ, is an expression of who Jesus is when we walk in obedience to the Holy Spirit.
Through us, the world should see Jesus. Just like Jesus said if you have seen me then you have seen the Father.
So when the world sees faithful godly Christians who are doing the mighty works of the Father then they are seeing Jesus, as in, they are seeing Jesus in us.
It was the WORKS that Jesus did that he was speaking of people seeing. The fullness of Almighty God, the GODHEAD, DWELT in Jesus through the Holy Spirit.
In other words, this SAME FULLNESS of the Godhead now DWELLS in us as believers in our Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God who died for our sins.
Ephesians 3:14-19.
“For this cause, I bow my knee unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Ephesians 3:15. Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.
Ephesians 3:16. That He would grant you according to the riches of His glory, to be STRENGTHENED with might by HIS SPIRIT in the inner man;
Ephesians 3:17. That Christ (The ANOINTING which dwelt in Jesus) may DWELL in your hearts by FAITH; that you being rooted and grounded in love,
Ephesians 3:18. May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height:
Ephesians 3:19. And to know the love of Christ, (The ANOINTED one Jesus, or to know the love from the ANOINTING) which passes knowledge, that you might be FILLED with ALL the FULLNESS of GOD.”
At times when I am under the anointing, I feel God's presence so strong that it feels like a LOVING hug from God.
And KNOWING that LOVE of God's warm embrace passes knowledge.
Speaking of the fullness of the DIVINE NATURE of immortality from Almighty God the Father, the GODHEAD.
But right now we are talking about being filled with the Holy Spirit over and over, again and again, to remain full of the Holy Spirit to always bear the fruits of the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 6:16.
“And what agreement has the TEMPLE of GOD with idols? For YOU are the TEMPLE of the living GOD; as God has said I will DWELL in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
1 Corinthians 3:16.
“Know you not that YOU are the TEMPLE of GOD, and that SPIRIT of God DWELLS in you?”
Ephesians 2:22.
“In whom (Or in Jesus) YOU ALSO are built together for a habitation of God THROUGH the SPIRIT.”
The SAME Spirit of the living God who DWELT in Jesus has NOW been given to DWELL in whosoever BELIEVES on Jesus being the CHRIST and the SON of the living God who suffered and died on the cross for their sins and that Almighty God raised his SON from the dead never more to die.
So in the same sense that in Christ Jesus DWELT all the FULLNESS of the Godhead BODILY, so also in the BELIEVERS DWELLS all the FULLNESS of the Godhead BODILY.
Meaning that we as BELIEVERS are now given all power and authority to do the SAME works that Jesus did THROUGH the power of the eternal Spirit who DWELT in him.
This does NOT mean that we are GOD, or EQUAL with God, or part of the Godhead, but rather means that Almighty GOD, the fullness of the GODHEAD now DWELLS in us, as Christians, by his Holy Spirit.
And just as Jesus lived his life without sin THROUGH the ETERNAL SPIRIT of Almighty God the Father, so are we called to live our lives free from sin by FAITH THROUGH the same the Holy Spirit of God who dwells in us.
And the WORKS that Jesus did through the Father who dwelt in him, so ALSO we should be doing. Jesus said the works that he did we should do ALSO.
SECTION TWO
Here in section two, we will take a closer look at Colossians 2:9 and the meaning of the Son of MAN, Jesus being GLORIFIED with the fullness of DEITY to be made a partaker of the DIVINE NATURE of IMMORTALITY in a BODILY form of flesh and bones AFTER the cross.
We have already covered many of the verses that clearly teach us that Almighty God the Father through His eternal Spirit DWELT in the FLESH or in the BODY of the Son of MAN, Jesus.
So in this section, we will look at different meanings of the Greek words in Colossians 2:9 to show that Yahweh the Father was PLEASED to GIVE the Son of Man, Jesus eternal life EVEN as the Father has always possessed immortality in Himself. Here is Colossians 2:9 with all the Strong’s numbers.

The literal meaning of Colossians 2:9.
“BECAUSE WITHIN him to house PERMANENTLY resides the whole COMPLETENESS of the DEITY BODILY.”
Now, let us take a closer look at the Greek word translated as “BODILY”.
The root word that Strong’s #G4985 comes from is the Greek word “SOZO” Strong’s #G4982 is translated as saved, and also as made whole among many other meanings as well. Here is the root word “sozo”.

Jesus said that he who endures unto the END shall be SAVED.
And we are not COMPLETELY saved UNTIL we actually receive our new glorified IMMORTAL bodies as Jesus received AFTER the cross showing himself alive forevermore by many infallible proofs.
Here is how E-Sword defines Strong’s #4985 that is translated as “bodily” in Colossians 2:9 and then we will go through each word that it comes from to the root word sozo.

Now, while Jesus was, indeed SAVED, Jesus was not saved from sin.
But rather, Yahweh the Father SAVED his BODY from corruption and decay.
God did not leave his soul in hell. The Bible itself teaches us that Jesus was MADE PERFECT after the cross.
Please read Hebrews 5:5-9.
“So also Christ glorified NOT himself to be made a high priest; BUT He (Speaking of Yahweh the creator) that said unto him, You are my Son, TODAY have I begotten you. (The writer of Hebrews is quoting a PROPHECY of God begetting a Son in the future.
Jesus was begotten by God to eternal life AFTER the cross when God raised him from the dead and GAVE the Son of MAN life even as the Father has always possessed immortality in Himself as the SOURCE of all life)
Hebrews 5:6. As He says also in another place, You are a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.
Hebrews 5:7. Who in the days of his flesh, (Right before the cross when Jesus sweated great drops of blood agonizing in prayer in the garden of Gethsemane) when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him that was able to SAVE him from death and was heard in that he feared; (The Greek word translated as save here is “SOZO” Strong’s #4982 the root word of the Greek word translated as BODILY in Colossians 2:9)
Hebrews 5:8. Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which He suffered;
Hebrews 5:9. And being MADE PERFECT, He BECAME the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;”
The Greek word translated as “MADE PERFECT” here means being made COMPLETE and it is the same Greek word used in Hebrew 11:39 speaking of the souls in heaven and the living saints at the coming of Jesus being MADE PERFECT at the same time.
In other words, Jesus as being made perfect means that Jesus was GLORIFIED with the DIVINE NATURE of ETERNAL LIFE after the cross as the firstfruits unto God.
Please read Hebrews 11:39,40.
“And these all, (Speaking of the Old Testament saints and of course all who die faithful in Jesus) having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: (Meaning that they have not YET received eternal life)
Hebrews 11:40. God having provided some better thing for us, that they WITHOUT us should not be MADE PERFECT.”
In other words, the faithful saints in this present world will all be MADE PERFECT together at the coming of Jesus. The Bible teaches us of THREE harvests and ONLY three harvests of PERFECT humans.
And Paul gives us the ORDER in which these three separate harvests of humans MADE PERFECT takes place in 1 Corinthians 15:20-28.
Jesus was the FIRST harvest. Then we who are in Jesus at his coming will be the SECOND harvest.
And the final harvest will take place after the 1000-year reign of Jesus has ended.

“But now is Christ risen from the dead, and BECOME the FIRSTFRUITS of them that slept.
1 Corinthians 15:21. For since by man came death, by MAN came also the resurrection of the dead. (In truth, God needed a HUMAN being to be His sacrificial Lamb to die for the sins of the world.
And thus, it is a lie to say that Almighty God Himself died on the cross.
Jesus was the FIRST human being to be given the divine nature of immortality to BECOME the FIRSTFRUITS unto God, new creatures of righteousness to inherit the worlds to come)
1 Corinthians 15:22. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1 Corinthians 15:23. But every MAN in his own ORDER: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. (Again, Jesus was the FIRST human being to be resurrected AND GIVEN eternal life never to die again.
THEN we who are in Jesus Christ in the present world will be ORDER #2 who will receive eternal life AT the second coming of Jesus)
1 Corinthians 15:24. Then comes the end, (Or then comes the THIRD and final harvest of FIRSTFRUITS unto God at the end of the Millennial reign of Jesus) WHEN he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, EVEN the Father; when He (Speaking of Yahweh the Father the ONLY TRUE God) shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
1 Corinthians 15:25. For he (Speaking of the now glorified Son of MAN, Jesus, after the cross) must reign, till He has put all enemies under his feet.
1 Corinthians 15:26. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. (See Revelation 20 which teaches us that death and hell will be destroyed in the Lake of Fire after the 1000-year reign of Jesus has ENDED)
1 Corinthians 15:27. For He has put all things under his feet. But when He says all things are put under him, it is manifest (Or it must be CLEARLY understood) that He is excepted, which did put all things under him. (In other words, Paul is making sure that we understand WHO Jesus is and WHO Almighty God the Father is.
Paul is making sure that we know and understand that Jesus will always be UNDER and SUBJECT to his God and Father even during the world to come when Jesus will rule FOR Yahweh as the Lord of the Sabbath of Yahweh’s seventh day of rest that was PROPHESIED in Genesis 2:1-3)
1 Corinthians 15:28. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto Him that put all things under him, that God (EVEN the FATHER) may be all in all.”
So to me, Colossians 2:9 does NOT prove that Jesus is Yahweh Himself in the flesh. But rather it proves that Jesus was MADE both LORD and CHRIST by Yahweh Himself.
