Isaiah 45:7 Is NOT Translated CORRECTLY!

***What Does Isaiah 45:7 TRULY mean?

Here is Isaiah 45:7 from the KJV.  “I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.”

The Hebrew word “bara”, which is commonly translated as created, ALSO means to CUT DOWN.

And since the CONTEXT is speaking of the treasures of DARKNESS being given to the RIGHTEOUS, then Isaiah 45:7 should be translated as follows.

The CORRECT translation of Isaiah 45:7.

“I form the LIGHT, and CUT DOWN darkness: I make PEACE, and CUT DOWN evil: I Yahweh do all these things.”

Everything God Creates is GOOD!

Some Christians use Isaiah 45:7 to teach Calvinism, which teaches that God created certain specific people to be cast into the lake of fire and there is nothing they can do to change there so-called predestined fate. 

In other words, Christians who are Calvinist Christians do NOT believe that Jesus suffered and died for the sins of the WHOLE world so the WHOSOEVER of any human who BELIEVES can be saved.

Other Christians like the Christadelphians use this same verse in Isaiah 45:7 to teach that Satan, also called the Devil, is NOT a real being claiming that it is God alone who creates evil and therefore they wrongly conclude that the “words” Satan, and Devil are symbolic ONLY and refer to SIN or the INFLUENCE of sin.

Let us read Isaiah 45:7 to see what this verse is truly saying in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God.

Isaiah 45:7.

“I (Yahweh) form the light, and (I Yahweh) create darkness: I (Yahweh) make peace, and (I Yahweh) create evil: I the LORD (or I Yahweh) do all these things.” 

I wrestled with this verse for quite some time. I never really thought about it until an atheist wrote to me asking my opinion of this verse. 

I wrote back after contemplating on this verse for awhile and told him that this verse does not say that God CREATED evil, as in, the past tense and explained that God has given us a free will to choose life or death and he is begging us to choose life so that we and our seed may live. 

I also told him that God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked and he is begging the wicked to turn from their wicked ways and live. 

And I showed him that the word “evil” does not always mean wicked people. 

I used the illustration of the 12 spies where only two brought back a GOOD report and the other 10 brought back an EVIL report. 

So they were not evil men but rather they did not BELIEVE what God told them to do which was to go and possess the land and their unbelief was EVIL in God’s eyes.

Now this atheist seemed to receive this explanation and I was content with it myself for many years, but something on the inside of me kept bringing me back to this verse. 

I knew deep down that I was not seeing the WHOLE true meaning of this verse. 

There was something else God wanted to show to me concerning this verse that I had not seen as yet. 

Then one day while pondering upon this verse I noticed that God said that he FORMED the light, but then turned around and said I CREATE darkness. 

God also said I MAKE peace but then turned around and said I CREATE evil. 

I the Yahweh DO all these things. And then the thought came to me of why did God not just simply say I CREATE light and CREATE darkness I CREATE peace and I CREATE evil and I Yahweh CREATE all these things? 

In other words, why did God NOT use the SAME Hebrew word “bara” which means create all the way through this verse? 

It was then that the Holy Spirit said look up the words in the Hebrew and I said that I already did that. 

And He said, did you look up the word “CREATE”, and I thought why would I need to look up the word “create” because create means create, right? 

But I looked it up anyway and I was shocked to see that this Hebrew word “bara” does not always mean create. 

Here is the definition or the Hebrew word “bara”.

“Strong’s #1254

bârâ'

baw-raw'

A primitive root; (absolutely) to create; (qualified) to cut down (a wood), select, feed (as formative processes): - choose, create (creator), CUT DOWN, dispatch, do, make (fat).”

That phrase “CUT DOWN ”  jumped off the page at me so to speak. Scriptures began to come to my mind about the wicked being cut down during the wrath of God. 

So, I searched the Strong’s #1254 to see if the Hebrew word translated as create was ever translated as CUT DOWN.

And I found these two verses in the book of Joshua where God tells His people Israel to cut down and drive out the giants and the Canaanites in the land that He promised them that they word possess.

Joshua 17:15-18.

“And Joshua answered them, If you be a great people (meaning if you truly BELIEVE your God), then get you up to the wood country, and cut down (“bara” meaning create and ALSO to cutdown”  Strong’s #1254) for yourself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for you. 

16.  And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Bethshean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel. (They are in UNBELIEF and FEAR) 

17.  And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, You are a great people, and have great power: (Meaning that they have the only true and Almighty God on their side who told you to go and POSSESS the land, the WHOLE land) You shall not have one lot only: 

18.  But the mountain shall be yours; for it is a wood, and you shall cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be yours: for you shall DRIVE OUT the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.”

So Isaiah 45:7 should actually read.

“I form the light, and CUT DOWN darkness: I make peace, and CUT DOWN evil: I the LORD do all these things.” 

The phrase “I form the LIGHT” is a prophecy of us as Christians being God’s WORKMANSHIP created in Jesus Christ his Messiah unto good works and then God will grant us the honor of CUTTING DOWN the evil wicked people who do not call upon the name of the Lord to be saved at the end of the ages speaking of at the end of the present world or age and also speaking of at the end of the 1000 year reign of Jesus. 

You see the phrase “I make peace” is referring to the 1000 year of Jesus where there will be NO WAR, crime, or violence. Satan will be bound in the bottomless pit during that yet future 1000 year reign of Jesus but after the 1000 years has ended then God will allow Satan to be let loose to deceive the nations one final time and there will be one more final war called God and Magog and there will be ANOTHER CUTTING DOWN of the evil wicked men but this time ALL evil will be destroyed in the lake of fire INCLUDING Satan and ALL his fallen angels.

Here is a parable of Jesus speaking of the wicked being CUT DOWN if he comes and finds no FRUIT on the tree.

Luke 13:6-9.

“He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. 

7.  Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years (This phrase “these THREE years” is speak of TWO years or the two thousand years of the church age and the ONE thousand year in the world to come) I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, (The FIG tree is symbolically speaking of the children of Israel or the twelve tribes of Israel. The church is NOT Israel. We are NEW creatures created IN Jesus Christ our Messiah. The Jews REJECTED Jesus as their Messiah for the first TWO years or for the first two THOUSAND years) and find none: cut it down; why cumber it the ground? 

8.  And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, (Speaking of the world to come which is the 1000 year reign of Jesus where there will be PEACE between Israel and the NATIONS speaking of the Islamic Muslim nations who REPENT and call upon the name of Jesus to be saved alive in their mortal bodies to go into the Millennium to be taught of the Lord along with the REMNANT of Jews left alive in their mortal bodies. God promised that he would turn to his chosen people the Jews a SECOND time and this second time begins AT the coming of Jesus and will last for 1000 years) till I shall dig about it, and dung it: 

9.  And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that you shall cut it down.”

And in case you do not know what this parable means please read Matthew 3:10.

“And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which brings not forth good fruit is HEWN DOWN, and cast into the fire.”

Every human being is a tree or WOOD. And ONLY the trees or people who bear GOOD fruit of righteousness will remain and all the trees that do NOT bear good fruit of righteousness will be cut down and cast into the lake of fire at the end of the THIRD year or the third 1000 years which is at the end of the 1000 year reign of Jesus.

Now the main purpose of this study is to show my Christadelphian brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ and all other Christians who wrongly believe and teach that Satan is NOT a REAL being. The only reason that I point out the Christadelphians is that I was searching for a church to fellowship in that does not teach the doctrine of the Trinity and I knew that Christadelphians believe pretty much the same as I do concerning the nature of Jesus during the days of his flesh. So I went online to see what else Christadelphians believe and teach and I was quite shocked to see that you do not believe that the devil is a real being who is Lucifer a chief fallen angel. But I was extremely shocked to see that they wrongly teach that God is the SOURCE of all evil and therefore to THEM God is responsible for all the evil in the world. I mean that is Calvinism to the extreme whether they realize it or not.

Here is a quote from a Christadelphian website.

“The God of the Bible

The Christadelphians believe that the God of the Bible is one, the Father alone (1 Cor. 8:6). God stands alone and unrivaled in the universe, the source of all good and evil (Is. 45:5-7). We reject the idea that the devil is one of Gods' angels that was permitted to rebel in the very heavens (thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven) and now wrestles with God for control of the world. We likewise reject the idea of a God with multiple independent personalities as not being in harmony with the teachings of scripture.”

Now again, I am only naming this particular church denomination because much of what they teach is indeed sound Biblical teaching and I want to see them GROW. Well if you teach that it is Almighty God’s fault that caused that person to rape your daughter. How many people will want to come to your church and learn about your God?

I have already shown the error of interpretation made by the Christadelphians, the Calvinist and many other Christians who BLAME God for all the evil in the world concerning Isaiah 54:7 and their wrongly blaming God as the SOURCE of ALL EVIL in the world. So please understand that I am NOT just singling out the Christadelphians but rather I am merely sharing what God has revealed to me through his Holy Spirit. 

The truth is that there are other Christians who see Satan or the Devil as just mere “words” that personify SIN. But those other Christians have a whole lot of error in many other doctrines whereas the Christadelphians only have a few doctrines that need to be reformed. So to THEM, there is no real spirit being called Satan and the Devil but rather Satan is an “it” which is the INFLUENCE of SIN as opposed to Satan, also called the Devil, being a real spirit being who is the one TEMPTING man to sin. Again, my intent is to IMPROVE your fellowship so that you will GROW in the favor of God so that you will be a bright light to bring people to Jesus Christ. Do you think you are in the favor of God by BLAMING him for all the evil in the world? That is what Lucifer did. He blamed God for creating him evil.

Let us just go through the Bible and read some Scripture to see what the Bible ITSELF teaches us and then YOU decide if the devil is a REAL spirit being or not.

Please read Matthew 12:26. 

“And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?”

I should be able to stop right here with this one verse because Jesus was healing the sick and casting out DEVILS by the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in him and the Jews falsely accused Jesus of casting out Satan by the power of Satan. And Jesus replied to them NOT to BLASPHEME the Holy Spirit and basically said that if so be it were truth that I am casting out Satan by the POWER of Satan then that would mean that Satan is the cause of sickness and then turns around and heals those who he has made sick and thus HIS kingdom would be divided against himself and any kingdom divided against itself shall NOT stand.

Now the same would be true that if so be it was God who causes sickness and then turns around and heals the sicknesses that he has supposedly caused then God’s kingdom would be divided and thus God’s kingdom will not stand which is a direct contradiction of many verses in the Bible. In other words, Christians who wrongly teach that God sends sickness upon people to teach them a lesson are actually blaming God for that sickness or tragedy. So obviously the INTERPRETATION concluded by the Christadelphians that Satan is not a real being and thus it is God’s fault is NOT a SOUND BIBLICAL interpretation. Because if God is the CAUSE of sickness and then HEALS that sickness then his kingdom is divided and it shall not stand.

Also, did you notice that Satan has a KINGDOM so how can he have a kingdom if so be he is not a real living being?

Let us continue to read some more verses of Scripture to see if Satan is a REAL spirit being or not.

Luke 10:18.

“And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” 

Now if so be that Satan is SIN or the influence of sin then that would mean that SIN was IN heaven before SIN fell like lightning down to the earth. So we should be praying for MORE sin in the earth because Jesus said to pray as it is in heaven let in be in the earth. Can you not see the error in BLAMING God for all the evil in the world? If you take away Satan then obviously it would be God who created all things as the one who would be blamed and that is exactly what Satan WANTS Christians to believe and teach.

In truth, this verse is actually a prophecy made by Jesus of Satan being cast down out of the heavens where he is presently the god of this present world system as one of the principalities and powers of the AIR. So heaven here is speaking of the first heaven which is our sky or atmosphere or every thing from the clouds down. Right before the 3 ½ years of great tribulation Michael and his angels will make war with Satan and HIS angels and Satan along with HIS angels will be cast down from the sky where he is now the principalities and powers of the AIR down to the surface of the earth.

Please read Revelation 12:7-10.

“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and HIS angels, 

8.  And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 

9.  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: HE was cast out into the earth, and HIS angels were cast out with him. 

10.  And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.” 

So then, that Old dragon or that serpent of old called the Devil and Satan WILL BE cast out of heaven down to the earth along with HIS angels. You see, Lucifer was a chief prince whom God gave a kingdom on this earth BEFORE God created mankind a little LOWER or inferior to the angels. Then Lucifer became filled with pride and convinced one third of the angels that they could take over God’s throne and have him as their God. So they made WAR with God and his angels and God cast Lucifer out of the FIRST heaven which is where the throne of God resides. The war continued in outer space until it was subdued by God and the good angels by confining Satan and his angels to this earth. Please read the study “UNDERSTANDING WHY?” and “THE WAR IN HEAVEN-Revelation 12” for a deeper understanding on this subject.

Now again, if so be that Satan is SIN then that would mean that SIN fell like lightning from heaven. And that would mean that it is Almighty God who is the one who TEMPTS and DECEIVES mankind to sin and do evil things.

But the Bible ITSELF clearly teaches us that God cannot be tempted with evil and neither does God tempt any man with evil.

See James 1:13. 

“Let NO man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts he any man:”

So then, since we know beyond any shadow of a doubt that it is NOT God who tempts mankind to sin then WHO does if so be that Satan is not a REAL spirit being? I mean, logically, how can something that is not a real being tempt and deceive people to sin? Some verses, like James, may seem to be saying that we tempt ourselves by our own lusts.

Now let us look at some verses in the Old Testament.

1 Chronicles 21:1.  

“And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.” 

To me, this sounds like a real being who kept planting thoughts in David’s mind until David gave into those evil thoughts to disobey God and number the children of Israel.

Job 1:6-12.

“Now there was a day when the sons of God (The angels are also called the sons of God) came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. 

7.  And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence come you? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. 

8.  And the LORD said unto Satan, Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that fears God, and eschews evil? 

9  Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? 

10.  Have not you made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he has on every side? you have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. 

11.  But put forth your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face. 

12.  And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he has is in your power; only upon himself put not forth your hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.” 

Let us continue on with Job 2:1-7.

“Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present HIMSELF before the LORD. 

2.  And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comes you? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. 

3.  And the LORD said unto Satan, Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that fears God, and eschews evil? and still he holds fast his integrity, although you move me against him, to destroy him without cause. (Satan is the ACCUSER of the brethren accusing us before God day and night just like we read in Revelation 12:10.)

4.  And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man has will he give for his life. 

5.  But put forth your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face. 

6.  And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in YOUR hand; but save his life. 

7.  So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.”

Here is the book of Job we see Yahweh having a CONVERSATION with Satan who wants God to destroy Job without a cause. Satan wants God to take his hedge of protection down from around Job not realizing that Job’s FEAR has already removed the hedge of protection of God. It was not God or some figment of Job’s imagination that SMOTE Job with boils but rather it was a LITERAL REAL spirit being who was one of the sons of God, a FALLEN angel named Lucifer, who smote Job with boils. The word “Satan” means adversary or God’s enemy.

Here are a couple of more verses from the Old Testament and then we will go back to the New Testament and read some verses concerning the Devil since that old serpent was called BOTH the Devil AND Satan in Revelation 12:9.

Please read Zechariah 3:1,2.

“And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. 

2.  And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke you, O Satan; even the LORD that has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?”

Joshua is a type or shadow or figure of Jesus who will come to FIGHT against Satan at his coming but Jesus will send a great angel to bind Satan with a great chain in the bottomless pit for a 1000 years.

Now let us look at some verses in the New Testament speaking of the Devil and see if the Devil is a REAL spirit being.

Matthew 9:32. 

“As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.”

Keep in mind that there are many devils so this verse does not actual prove that this particular devil is Satan himself, who is the Devil, being the king or prince of darkness. But what this does prove is that devils are real spirit being who can and do POSSESS people. But we need not to fear devils for we have power and authority in the name of Jesus to cast them out.

Matthew 9:33.  

“And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.” 

Matthew 13:39.

  “The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.”

The reapers are the good angels and the enemy is the fallen angel Lucifer now called Satan and the Devil who has the fallen angels and other disembodied spirits from the previous creation called demons or devils under his power. So Satan sends his devils or demons out to do his best to HINDER or prevent people from coming to God to be saved.

Matthew 25:41.  

“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and HIS angels:”

The Devil along with HIS angels will be cast into the lake of fire after the 1000 year reign of Jesus and the final war against God called the war of Gog and Magog.

Luke 9:42. 

“And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.”

Now be honest with yourself and with God. Do you really think that SIN or the INFLUENCE of sin can literally throw a human being down and tear at him like the demon spirits do at times when they are being cast out of people by the power and authority of Almighty God in the name of Jesus? Here in this verse Jesus calls the Devil an unclean SPIRIT. Again we can not dogmatically say that this devil is Satan himself but this unclean spirit has the NAME devil which some Christians claim is a “WORD” describing SIN or the INFLUENCE of SIN. So then the “WORD” devil does NOT mean SIN but rather a devil is a REAL SPIRIT being according to the words of Jesus HIMSELF

John 8:44.  

“You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and (he speaking of Satan the Devil) abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” 

Can SIN have children? Sin is NOT a father of anyone. Lying is a SIN and the devil is the father OF the SIN of lying. The devil comes only to steal, kill and destroy. The devil is a thief who wants to STEAL the TRUTH from God’s people. So I implore you my Christadelphian brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, do NOT allow that devil to steal the TRUTH from you by his DECEIVING you that he is not a REAL spirit being.

Ephesians 6:11.  

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” 

It is important to know and understand that Satan the Devil is a REAL and INTELLIGENT spirit being who has many tricks and deceptions. Please read the study “THE WEAPONS OF OUR ENEMY!”

2 Timothy 2:26.

“And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by HIM at HIS WILL.” 

The Devil has his own WILL who takes people captive at his WILL. Satan goes about as a roaring lion SEEKING WHOM he may devour which teaches us that the Devil can NOT just devour or oppress anyone he so chooses. 1 John 5:18 teaches us that if we keep ourselves from sin then the evil one cannot touch us. Resist the Devil and he will flee from you. Resist sin long enough and consistently enough and he will give up and leave off tempting you just like he did Jesus. 1 John 3:8.  

“He that commits sin is of the devil (It makes no sense that SIN is of SIN); for the devil sins (and it makes no sense to say that SIN SINS from the beginning) from the beginning. (This should actual read, for the devil sins from A beginning. Speaking of the RECREATION of the earth after being destroyed and made void during the great WAR between Satan with his angel and God with his angels) For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”

So then, according to the INTERPRETATION concluded by the Christadelphians that Satan and the Devil is SIN then this verse would be saying that SIN has been SINNING from the very beginning which again makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

What are the WORKS of the devil? Well one of his works is to give power to human beings to work miracles. Please read 2 Thessalonians 2:7-10.

“For the mystery of iniquity (Speaking of Satan working behind the scenes so to speak deceiving and tempting people to sin) does already work: only he (Speaking of Satan the deceiver the enemy of God) who now lets (Or who now HINDERS the work of God) will let (Or will HINDER God’s work), until he (Satan) be taken out of the way. (Which literally read until he be CAST OUT of the MIDST) 

8.  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: (Speaking of the antichrist or leader of a wicked people who are killing God’s people the Christians and the Jews)

9.  Even him, whose coming is after the WORKING OF Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, (It is simply NOT reasonable to think that SIN can give POWER to people to perform lying miracles to deceive the Muslims into following a man who will be given power by Satan to perform miracles. Please read the study “COULD ISLAM BE THE MARK OF THE BEAST?”)

10.  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish (So deception to do unrighteousness is also a WORK of the Devil also called Satan); because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” 

Jude 1:9.  

“Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke you.”

Again Satan is the accuser of the brethren and Michael the archangel is withstanding these false accusations that Satan is trying to bring against Moses and rebukes him in the authority of the Lord.

One time I was praying for a lost person to be saved while I was using an air-arc de-welder and the fire blew back onto me as the devil said to me “leave him alone he is mine.” I rebuked the devil in the name of Jesus and kept praying for my friend to be saved.

Revelation 12:12.

“Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time.”

So according to the interpretation of the Christadelphians that the Devil is not a REAL being and is merely SIN then SIN will be cast down out of heaven to come down to the earth. And SIN has great WRATH and also SIN has understanding and awareness of TIME to know that HE has but a short time left.

Revelation 20:1,2. 

“And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 

2. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,”

Again according to the interpretation of the Christadelphians SIN will be bound in the bottomless pit with a great chain. NO! Of course not. Satan will be bound with a great chain just like many of the fallen angels that sinned are bound with chains awaiting the judgment.

Also it appears to me that during the 1000 year reign of Jesus that some may disobey the commandment that will be given during that 1000 years to go up to Jerusalem to keep the feast of tabernacles and if they disobey then there will be no rain on their crops for that year. And if they disobey again to bad so sad no more chances for them. And that is why you want to be found that good and faithful servant in Jesus Christ now in this present world. Anyway, if there is sin during the 1000 years, then it is impossible for Satan to be an allegory for SIN because HE will be bound during those 1000 years.

Jude 1:6.

“And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.”

I understand that you as a Christadelphian REJECT the notion that there was in the past and is right now and will continue to be a great WAR in heaven but I implore you to consider the WHOLE matter before you make your final judgment. Think for a moment that if so be that Lucifer did indeed deceived one third of the angels to rebel against God then that is a two to one ratio which means that this war was not just a tiny little matter of no significance. 

So then, if God did not BIND in chains MOST of the fallen angels and only allowed a few fallen angels along with their king who deceived them to remain lose but no longer allowed to travel to the stars any more then this war could have escalated all over again. I mean if an army corrals an opposing army to a confined space then that army can keep them from making any major attack without just simply wiping them out altogether. God is a JUST God and he is being falsely accused that it is his fault for this war in the first place. Please read the study “UNDERSTANDING WHY?”

It is not that God is worried but rather God watches over his word to PERFORM it so that what he has spoken will indeed come to pass just as he said. God has spoken his secret plan of salvation all through the Old Testament. God did NOT suddenly have to come up with a plan after man sinned. God already had everything figured out BEFORE he created mankind a little LOWER or inferior to the angels. Again please read the studies that I have given links to in this study such as “THE WAR IN HEAVEN -Revelation 12” They may surprise you.

Revelation 20:10.

“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”

So SIN shall be cast into the lake of fire and TORMENTED according the Christadelphians. That makes no sense whatsoever and it makes you look like you do not understand the Bible. Now I happen to believe you have it right concerning the nature of Jesus during the days of his flesh on the earth but my point is this. Who will take you seriously if you get something wrong that is so easily understood? 

The lake of fire was prepared for SATAN also called the Devil AND HIS angels who rebelled against God. Before this war began Satan was called Lucifer. The name Satan means enemy or adversary. So then Lucifer and the angels he deceived to join with him to make war with God to try and exalt his throne above the clouds to be like the most high God were cast out of heaven and bound to the earth and the first heaven which is the sky or atmosphere of the earth. Please read the studies “IS LUCIFER SATAN?” and “THE WAR IN HEAVEN Revelation 12”. Also read the study “UNDERSTANDING WHY?” for a deeper understanding about Satan and why it is important to know who the ENEMY is and his DEVICES.

2 Corinthians 11:14  

“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” 

This is why we must never BLINDLY trust a visitation from an angel like the Mormons did giving a revelation because that angel may SEEM to be a good angel of light but in reality he may be Satan who transformed himself to appear as if he is a good angel sent from God. SIN can not transform itself into and angel.

Here are some arguments of WHY Christadelphians believe and teach that Satan is NOT a REAL spirit being or the fallen angel named Lucifer who is now called Satan. Their words will be in a different type or font style and my comments will be in this same type or font style that I have been using for all my words and comments.

“Contradictions in the Popular Theories

When we take a good look at the subject of the Devil and Satan, we discover that there are several contradictions and inconsistencies in the traditional view. If there really were a supernatural being called the devil, the scriptures that are related should all be in harmony with this concept. This is certainly not the case. Following are a list of issues that you owe it to yourself to resolve, before you make any final conclusions on the subject:

When did the devil fall from heaven? Was it before the creation as is commonly taught? (see Isaiah 14:12, Luke 10:18, Revelation 12:7)

There are two falls from heaven. The first fall came BEFORE the creation of mankind and the second fall is yet future which will begin the 3 ½ years of great tribulation ending with the battle of Armageddon which is when Satan will be bound with a great chain in the bottomless pit. That explains why these three verses SEEM to be speaking of different times of when Lucifer fell and Satan will fall or be cast down in the future even lower than before. 

Just briefly, in the war before mankind was created Satan was cast out of the THIRD heaven which is God’s throne. There is no reason to even believe that there was any battle in the third heaven but rather that the door was shut and no more access for Lucifer was permitted. At least not without God’s permission like in the book of Job chapter 1 and 2.

The bulk of the war was fought in outer space and more likely in our solar system for the most part. That is why there are craters on the moon not common with being hit by space debris. Have you ever wondered why the craters on the moon are NOT elongated? Think about this for a moment. The earth is basically a shield to the moon protecting it from space debris. And if the gravity of the earth did pull some debris around to curve in enough to hit the moon then the crater would be elongated but they are not. They look just like they were made by bombs being dropped on the surface of the moon. Just a side thought.

How did the serpent survive the flood, if he was the devil?

The devil is a spirit being and can go back and forth from the spiritual realm and the physical realm. Also the actual serpent may or may not have been a real dragon that was cursed to lose his legs and feet to become a snake. Satan may have possessed the snake like the devils that Jesus cast out possessed the pigs. Or it may be that Satan transformed himself in the form of a dragon or simply talked through the serpent much like the Lord opened the mouth of Balaam’s donkey to talk to Balaam. Also, it seems reasonable to assume that there were snakes brought aboard the ark of Noah. 

The main point is that the flood was to destroy wicked men and the giants who were the offspring of the fallen angels. So how did the fallen angels survive the flood? Simple answer, the flood was not meant to destroy Satan or the fallen angels who are reserved for the lake of fire. Whether you realize it or not, Satan and the fallen angels are on TRIAL right now while a case is being built against them. Jesus already produced enough evidence for God to destroy them all right now but thanks be to God for gathering even more evidence against them to prove once and for all eternity that what God creates he creates PERFECT. Read the studies for all the Scriptures that prove what I just said and THINK of WHY we will be given the honor to JUDGE the angels. Who are we that are create LOWER than the angles that God will give us the honor to JUDGE the angel if the fallen angel are not on trail and we are the jury so to speak.

How do you explain Isaiah 45:7 where God is said to create evil?

I have already explained this verse at the very beginning of this study in God’s word. The Hebrew word “bara” which is translated as create most of the time also mean to CUT DOWN. So, instead of God creating evil God will CUT DOWN evil.

If God spares not angels that sin, then how did the devil survive? (see II Peter 2:4)

The devil does NOT escape judgment. The everlasting fire was prepared FOR the DEVIL AND HIS angels and both the Devil AND his angels will be cast into the lake of fire on the final Day of Judgment. 2 Peter 2:4 is just one verse and every detail is not always repeated over and over again in every verse. Read some more verses and you will clearly see that Satan will be cast into the lake of fire WITH his angels on the final Day of Judgment.

Matthew 25:41.  

“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:” 

SIN does not have its own angels. The Devil is a REAL spirit being, a fallen angel named Lucifer.

Revelation 12:9. 

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him”

If the serpent was sentenced to crawl on his belly, why is he said to walk about like a lion in I Peter 5:8?

First of all it says that he goes about AS a roaring lion. Secondly, the Bible does not make it clear to us that Satan has a body of a snake. We know that he is a spirit being. And we know that he can transform himself to appear as a good angel. So again the serpent was most likely used by Satan rather than Satan being a literal serpent. 

The more important lesson in 1 Peter 5:8 is that Satan the Devil must SEEK whom he may devour meaning that if we keep ourselves from sin KNOWING our AUTHORITY in the name of Jesus then the evil one cannot touch us.

Why would God use a messenger of Satan to help Paul to grow spiritually? (II Corinthians 12:7-9)

Please read the study “PAUL’S THORN IN THE FLESH!” for the sound Biblical meaning of that passage of Scripture. The messenger of Satan was sent to buffet Paul and not help him grow spiritually. Just briefly, Paul was asking God to get rid of this devil and God kept telling Paul to do it himself. Then it finally clicked in Paul’s thinking that he could command the devil to leave in the name of Jesus and that is what Paul did.

Read Acts 5:1-4. Was it Satan that tempted Ananias, or was it his own heart (mind)?

It was Satan lying to the mind of Ananias who then allowed those lies of Satan to enter down into his heart resisting the leading of the Holy Spirit and his God given conscious to not give into the lies of the enemy Satan. When anyone entertains the lies of Satan to start agreeing with them then the temptation grows stronger. The more you listen, the strong the temptation becomes. Sooner or later IF you keep listening, that temptation will become a LUST in your heart as an EVIL treasure. And then you are drawn away by that lust that you ALLOWED to get down into your heart. All the while that Holy Spirit is telling you, do not do it.

Why would the devil cast someone into prison? (Revelation 2:10)

Satan uses people to persecute God’s people. He will even use Christians to persecute other Christians. And at times they are not even aware that they are being used by Satan. This is why we are taught, in the Bible, that our warfare is not against flesh and blood but rather it should be against the principalities and powers in the air.

So then, in the last days especially during the great tribulation many Jews and Christians will be cast into prison camps as prisoners of war to await death by beheading. The Bible also teaches us that this will take place in the Middle East in the Islamic Muslim countries. The ten days might be a literal ten days right at the end of the great tribulation or it may be ten years which will begin 6 ½ years before the 3 ½ years of great tribulation. There is alot or severe weather the last fews years causing record destruction and killing many people. There are many Christians being killed right now in Muslim dominated countries. The Jews who say they are Jews and who are not are Muslims whom Jesus will make to come and bow at our feet and worship us.

Revelation 3:9.

“Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.”

Why did Jesus refer to Peter as Satan? (Matthew 16:23)

Jesus was speaking to the spirit being Satan who was influencing Peter to rebuke Jesus for speaking of dying on the cross. Remember that the Jews were expecting a mighty warrior to deliver them from the Roman oppression and restore the kingdom to Israel. Peter did not want his Messiah to die because he did not yet understand why Jesus needed to suffer and die on the cross. Jesus was just BEGINNING to teach them about the cross at that point in time.

If Christ destroyed the devil through his death, then why would he still be around? (Hebrews 2:14)

The LAST enemy to be destroyed is death so that there will be NO MORE death in the new heavens and the new earth that Yahweh will create after the 1000 year reign of Jesus. Also Jesus said he came to destroy the WORKS of the devil.

Let us read Hebrews 2:14,15.

“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 

15.  And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”

So right now we are delivered from the FEAR of death. A true born-again Christian need not fear death knowing that whether we live of die we KNOW that we shall live and forever be with our Lord. There will be physical death until the end of the 1000 year reign of Jesus for those who are NOT in Jesus Christ AT his coming BEFORE the 1000 years. 

You see ONLY the good and faithful Christians will be given immortality AT the coming of Jesus to rule and reign WITH Jesus over the mortals during the 1000 year reign of Jesus. And then, at that time, at the coming of Jesus, the second death will have no more power over us as true born-again faithful Christians for we will be changed from mortal to immortal and we shall rule and reign WITH Jesus for a 1000 years over the mortals down of the earth. We will be in the city of God suspended above the earth over the city of Jerusalem. The New Jerusalem will not come down to the surface of this old earth but rather will come down on the NEW earth that God will create.

In Luke 20:35-38 we learn that angels are immortal. We have also just seen in Hebrews 2:14 that the devil will be destroyed. How could a fallen angel be destroyed?

Just because God gave the angels immortality that does NOT mean that God HIMSELF can no longer destroy them. All immortality means is that no one else can kill the angels. Jesus said do not fear those who can destroy your bodies but rather fear God who is able to destroy BOTH you body and your soul. God can destroy anything he creates which is everything but he is a JUST God and he will only destroy his creation if THEY themselves CAUSE their OWN destruction by disobedience having NO remorse or repentance.

Lucifer BLAMED God for creating him with a sinful nature and basically charged God that he has no right to destroy him. So God created mankind a little lower or inferior to the angels to PROVE to Satan and the fallen angels that what he creates is perfect in the day he creates it and therefore God will be JUST in destroying Satan and the fallen angels once this TRIAL by jury where Jesus and us are the jury has ended at the END of the 1000 year reign of Jesus. Please read the study “UNDERSTANDING WHY?” for all the Scriptures that support what I just said. But for now you surely remember the Scripture that teaches us that we shall JUDGE the angels. Have you ever wondered WHY we will JUDGE the angels? Read the study.

In I Timothy 1:20 we read that two brethren were delivered to Satan to "learn not to blaspheme". Would not this be inconsistent with the role of the devil?

No, whenever we sin we remove ourselves out of the hand of protection of God but Satan does not always know whom he may devour or oppress with sickness. Satan is not omnipresent. It is our job to do our best to reconcile any problems in the church but if one will not be corrected then we have no choice but to turn them over to Satan so the Devil can oppress them with sickness in hopes that they will repent and recover themselves out of the snare of the devil. I have done this myself on one occasion and one brother repented and the sister in the Lord did not repent to my knowledge. She still may.

Again we are not talking about a one time sin but rather we are talking about a Christian leaving God altogether and choosing a lifestyle of sin. Paul was having difficulty with the Jews compelling Christians to keep the Law of Moses in order to be saved. So those brethren may have left the faith to go back to the Jews religion or they may have been converted to the Jews religion. You would not think it possible for a Christian to be converted to Islam but it is happening and that is why we need to help Christians be rooted and grounded in the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ.

In I Corinthians 5:5 the Corinthians are exhorted to deliver an erring brother to Satan, to help to save him. How would you explain this?

An “erring” brother is putting it quite mildly seeing that he was having sex with his father’s wife which may well have been his own mother seeing that such a sin was not even being committed by the pagan heathen Gentiles.

But like I said above, we are to do all we can through prayer, exhortation, and instructing them in the Scriptures to try and save them with FEAR as one of the last resorts. And then, as our last final resort, we are to turn them over to Satan where they are out of the protection of our prayers. I mean after years and years of prayer and they have not repented then it is best to let them suffer a little at the hand of the enemy as opposed to forever being lost. 

God does not answer the prayers of a sinner so they have no spiritual defense against the attacks of the Devil UNTIL they cry out to God in repentance. They can beg and plead for God to heal them but he will not until they repent. But IF people are still praying for them then God will honor our prayers. Now if you cannot stand to watch their suffering at the hand of Satan then go to them first and tell them that IF they repent then you will pray for them and God will heal them.

Why does James teach that a man is tempted by his own flesh if there is a devil? (James 1:14-15)

The reason James says that we are drawn away of our OWN lust is that over time our flesh learns to love sin more than God. That is to say that our inner man grows weak at times especially when we give in repeatedly to sin. This should NOT be common place among Christians who KNOW their authority in the name of Jesus. But at times we get out of the habit of praying and meditating on God’s word and we ENTERTAIN those lies of Satan more and more and longer and longer until they become LUST in our own heart. That is what James means. James is NOT teaching that we have a sin NATURE. Most temptation comes as a passing thought which is put there BY Satan or one of his devils. 

And THEN if we entertain that thought then it will become stronger and stronger and the desire of our flesh will rise up and begin speaking to our inner man begging us to give into that temptation and sin. Please read the study “HOW YOU CAN LIVE FREE FROM SIN!”

Isaiah 14:12 is commonly applied to the devil. Why then is this proverb actually spoken to the king of Babylon, who is clearly referred to as a man? (see verses 4 & 16)

Please read the study “IS LUCIFER SATAN?” for all the verses. But for now read verse 10 along with Psalm

Isaiah 14:10

“All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? are you BECOME like unto us?” 

Psalm 86:6,7.

“I have said, You are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. 

7.  But you shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.”

These verses have more than one meaning and the gods here are speaking of BOTH the fallen angels and the wicked men who are only children of God by creation and NOT by being born-again by the word of God to be given power to become the eternal sons and daughters of God at the coming of Jesus.
