***What Does Exodus 3:14 TRULY mean?
Here is Exodus 3:14 from the KJV. “And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.”
Did Jesus quote Exodus 3:14 when he said the words “I am” in John 8:58?
In other words, does the Bible ITSELF teach us that Jesus is saying that he is Almighty God Himself, who said the words “I AM THAT I AM” in Exodus 3:14?
And if Jesus intended his words in John 8:58 to be referring to Exodus 3:14, then WHICH “I AM” was Jesus saying that he is, the FIRST “I AM” or the SECOND “I AM” whom Yahweh SENT?
For you see, the literal translation of Exodus 3:14 is saying,
“I am BECOMING who I shall BECOME.”
In other words, everything that exists came into being by Yahweh SPEAKING forth His words out from His mouth,
Thus, Jesus is the FULFILLMENT of the PROPHECIES in Yahweh’s written word, the Holy Bible.

The Name of Almighty God is Yahweh, Not “I AM”!
Trinitarian Christians often combine two passages of Scriptures together in order to try to prove their doctrine of the Trinity.
And John 8:58 combined with Exodus 3:14 is one example.
Other examples are passages of Scripture where Jesus says the same words that Yahweh said in the Old Testament.
And still other examples of combining Scriptures to try to prove their doctrine of the Trinity are verses where Jesus and the Father are called by the same title, such as Lord and Savior.
In other words, Trinitarian Christian argue that since Yahweh is called God and Jesus is called God, then that proves that Jesus is Yahweh Himself in the flesh.
Now, the two verses that we will cover in this study are probably the most famous of all Trinitarian verses of Scripture next to John 1:1 and Hebrews 1:8.
Here is HOW the Trinitarian argument goes. First, they quote both verses to make the point that Jesus said the words “I am” and Almighty God the Father said the words “1 am”.
Then, they conclude that Jesus said he is Yahweh Himself, because he said “I am”, which they CLAIM is the NAME of the Creator.
John 8:58.
“Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.”
Now compare this verse alongside Exodus 3:14.
“And God said unto Moses, I am that I am: and he said, Thus shall you say unto the children of Israel, I am has sent me unto you.”
The Trinitarian argument is as follows.
“Yahweh referred to Himself as being I AM and Jesus also said I AM, therefore, Jesus is Yahweh Himself in the flesh.”
Again, No! This is NOT the correct line of reasoning, because it contradicts other verses of Scripture in the Bible.

But for now, please ask yourself the following questions.
Question #1.
“If Jesus is quoting Exodus 3:14, then WHICH ‘I AM’ is Jesus saying that he is?”
Question #2.
“Is Jesus saying that he is the FIRST ‘I AM’ that I am”?
Question #3.
“Or is Jesus saying that he is the LAST “I am” the one PROPHESIED to come?
For you see, the FIRST “I AM” is Yahweh Himself, who spoke the word of prophecy out from His own MOUTH.
Then, Yahweh watched over His own spoken word of prophecy to PERFORM it and bring it to pass.
And the LAST “I am” is the PROPHECY itself. For you see, there are other translations of Exodus 3:14.

Again, in truth, the words “I AM” are NOT God’s NAME.

The second person speaking in the video is just making some more comments to point out that God’s actual NAME is in verse 15 which is Yahweh, or Jehovah as he likes to pronounce the four Hebrew letters “YHWH”.
I myself prefer Yahweh as being the correct pronunciation of God’s ACTUAL name.
After you watch the video, then please come back and study the CONTEXT of John 8:58, which proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that Jesus never claimed to be Almighty God Yahweh Himself anywhere in the entire Bible.

Now you do not need to read Greek to follow what I am saying.
Simply know and understand that the two Greek words highlighted in yellow mean “I am”.
These two Greek words are simply conveying the meaning “I am SOMETHING”.
So then, the SOMETHING that God is saying that He is, I will highlight in orange.
Please notice that the Greek words “ὁ ὢν”, which is the SOMETHING that God is saying that he is, appear TWICE.
But the two Greeks words, “ἐγώ εἰμι”, meaning “I am”, only appears just ONE TIME.
The English translation is below, right after the words in Greek, to help follow along.
Exodus 3:14 in Greek.
“14, καὶ εἶπεν ὁ Θεὸς πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων· ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ ὤν. καὶ εἶπεν· οὕτως ἐρεῖς τοῖς υἱοῖς ᾿Ισραήλ· ὁ ὢν ἀπέσταλκέ με πρὸς ὑμᾶς.”
Exodus 3:14 in English.
“And God spoke to Moses, saying, I am THE BEING; and he said, Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, THE BEING has sent me to you.”
In other words, if Jesus would have said, “Before Abraham was, ὁ ὢν” instead of saying, “Before Abraham was, ἐγώ εἰμι,” then the Trinitarian and Oneness Pentecostal INTERPRETATION of John 8:58 might have some validity.
But Jesus did NOT say, “Before Abraham was, ὁ ὢν”. Or “Before Abraham was, I THE BEING.
Rather, Jesus said, Before Abraham was ἐγώ εἰμι”, which again should have been translated as “Before Abraham was, I am [he]”, with the IMPLIED or UNDERSTOOD pronoun [he] added for clarity.
And if it was correctly translated in this way then, the meaning of these words of Jesus would mean that Jesus is saying, I am he, [the MESSIAH], because that is what the CONTEXT teaches us.
Yahweh is the Savior by bringing into existence His Saviour to finish His work.
It is like the WRATH of Yahweh is indeed Yahweh” wrath, but Yahweh chose to give the honor of executing His warth to all of the SAINTS or to all of His Holy Ones, according to Psalm 149:5-9.
And another possible translation of John 8:58, seeing that there were no commas in the Greek text, would be as follows.
“Before Abraham, I was to be”
The order of Greek words in a sentence is not as important as the order of the words in an ENGLISH sentence.
And this translation would agree with the Biblical Unitarian interpretation where Jesus was PROPHESIED to be before Abraham ever came into existence.
The truth of the matter is that the translators should have added the English implied pronoun “he” to say, “Before Abraham was, I am [he].” Or they should have translated John 8:58 as “Before Abraham, I was to be”.
And if the translators would have done so, then there would not have been any confusion as to the TRUE meaning of these words of Jesus in John 8:58.
The words, “I am [he]” would have never been connected with the English TRANSLATION of Exodus 3:14 in the King James Version to twist that verse to mean that Jesus was saying “I AM THAT I AM”.
However, according to the WHOLE word of Almighty God, the TRUE sound Biblical meaning of John 8:58 means that Jesus was saying, “Before Abraham was, I am [he].
And this means that Jesus was saying that he is the Messiah, the one prophesied to be as the CONTEXT clearly teaches us.

Here is a very brief, more in-depth meaning of Exodus 3:14.
Mose is a figure of Jesus. The name Moses means the “drawing out of the water”.
The prophetic meaning of “water” is the Holy Spirit and Jesus was given the power and the authority to send the Holy Spirit from the Father.
Jesus was sent, or more correctly translated and understood, Jesus was COMMISSIONED by his God and Father to FINISH the work of Yahweh.
And we are the body of Jesus is his STEAD, or we are his AMBASSADORS, continuing the work of the Father in the name of Jesus, according to 2 Corinthians 5:19-21.
2 Corinthians 5:18-21.
“And all things are of God, (Or more correctly translated and understood, and the all who believe are of God) who has reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2 Corinthians 5:19. To wit, that God was in Christ, (Or the God of God dwelt in His ANOINTED servant Jesus) reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:20. Now then, we are AMBASSADORS for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's STEAD, (Or in the place of the Messiah, being the body of our Savior, his ambassadors, we employ you saying,) be you reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:21. For He has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
And in the same way that we are REPRESENTATIVES of Jesus doing the same works that Jesus did through the Eternal Spirit dwelling in him to empower him, Jesus is the REPRESENTATION of his God and Father, whom God made to become both Lord and Messiah after the cross and resurrection, according to Acts 2:36.
