ANSWERING the “DOCTRINE” of the TRINITY
People have asked me what I BELIEVE when it comes to the doctrine of the Trinity and the doctrine of the Deity of Jesus, and I tell them that I believe that Jesus is CALLED God by his God and Father AFTER the cross but I do NOT believe that Jesus is THE ALMIGHTY God Himself. For you see, to ME, IF Jesus is the Almighty God Himself then that would make Jesus to BE the FATHER. And that would be the false doctrine or false teaching of ONENESS Pentecostalism, also called Modalism. And I could never believe that Jesus IS the Father Himself because the Bible itself clearly teaches us that Jesus is a separate BEING from the Father.
Now, I used to “parrot” what I was taught about the doctrine of the Trinity but after reading the Bible for myself I can no longer believe in the doctrine of the Trinity, and I will never believe in the Oneness Pentecostal doctrine that Jesus is the Father Himself.
I believe that the Bible itself teaches us that Jesus became “A” God under his God and Father AFTER the cross, and we will look at WHY I believe this further on in this study. But first, I want to answer some of the Trinitarian arguments as to why Trinitarian Christians sincerely believe that Jesus is Almighty God Himself, as in, Jesus is the co-eternal God the Son, the second person of a Trinity Godhead, according to the doctrine of the Trinity.
So let us begin answering the doctrine of the Trinity by first taking a look at what some other very popular Trinitarian websites have to say in their support of the doctrine of the Trinity and then I will show you why I do not agree with them.
On the website ChristanAnswers.net, there is an article called Jesus the Son of God / Jesus the Son of Man that deals with the question “If Jesus is God, then why did he call himself the Son of Man?”
The author of this article writes the following which I will put in a different font style so as not to confuse their belief from what the Bible itself actually teaches.
“Jesus CLEARLY claimed to be God on many occasions (Matthew 16:16,17; John 8:58;10:30).”
Now, I myself do not find anywhere in the New Testament where Jesus himself said or even hinted at that he is God. But yet, this Trinitarian author gives Matthew 16:16,17 as one of his Scripture references to try and support his CLAIM that Jesus himself CLAIMED to be Almighty God Himself in the flesh. Please notice that one of the eyewitnesses of Jesus, the Apostle Peter, simply calls Jesus the SON OF the living God. And the Trinitarian “interpretation” is read into this verse that since Jesus is the SON OF the living God, then that, therefore, proves that Jesus is CLAIMING to BE Almighty God Himself in the flesh.
To me, that is reading a predetermine belief INTO the Scriptures, as opposed to, allowing the Scripture to interpret itself. So let us read the whole context to discern the true sound Biblical meaning of this passage of Scripture.
Please read Matthew 16:12-20.
“Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but (Or, but rather, warned them to beware) of the DOCTRINE (Or the TEACHINGS) of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
13. When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say that I the Son of man am?
14. And they said, Some say that you are John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15. He said unto them, But who do say you that I am?
16. And Simon Peter answered and said, You are the CHRIST, the SON OF the living God. (And according to Jesus in John 17:1-3, the Father is the ONLY TRUE God. And according to the Apostle Paul and the other Apostles of Jesus in 1 Corinthians 8:6, to us, as Christians, there is but ONE God, the Father. And to us, there is but ONE Lord whom Almighty God the Father, the ONLY true God MADE Lord AND Christ, according to Acts 2:36)
17. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood has NOT revealed it unto you, but my Father (The living God) which is in heaven. (Jesus is calling Peter blessed because he says that Jesus is the Christ which means the anointed and also the Messiah. Also, please notice that this TRUTH was REVEALED to Peter by Almighty God the Father Himself and NOT by men as the doctrine of the Trinity is a man-made doctrine. So then, both Almighty God the Father Himself and His Son Jesus teaches Peter who the Son of MAN, Jesus, truly is by answering the question Jesus asked his disciples, WHO do YOU say that I am. And the sound Biblical answer revealed to them BY Almighty God Himself is that Jesus IS the Christ, the SON OF the living God. And, according to Acts 2:36 and Acts 10:38, Jesus was MADE Christ BY Almighty God the Father AT the baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan by John the Baptist to FULFILL the prophecy in Isaiah 42:1-7 and Isaiah 61:1,2 that is confirmed by Jesus himself in Luke 4:1-22 as being fulfilled at the BEGINNING of his MINISTRY)
18. And I say also unto you, That you are Peter, and upon this rock (Or upon this solid rock of revelation knowledge from the living God, the Father in heaven that I, Jesus, am the one prophesied to come to be ANOINTED by God to be His Christ and to be the SON OF God) I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19. And I will give unto you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever you shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
20. Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the CHRIST.”
Now, in this first passage of Scripture that this Trinitarian author gave as a proof text that Jesus supposedly CLEARLY claimed to be God. actually PROVES that Jesus is NOT the Almighty God Himself who MADE the Son of MAN, Jesus, His Christ at the baptism of Jesus. So to ME, there is not even a HINT of Jesus supposedly claiming to be Almighty God Himself in the flesh by simply saying that he is the SON OF the living God.
Some Christians INTERPRET the words of Jesus saying that he is the SON of Almighty God to mean that Jesus IS God Himself but being the SON of the living God, Almighty God the Father, does NOT make or prove that Jesus is THE ALMIGHTY God Himself in the flesh.
Again, the word “Christ” means Messiah and ALSO means ANOINTED. And the NAME “Jesus” means the salvation OF Yahweh or Yahweh saves, as in, Yahweh CHOSE salvation to be IN His human Son, Jesus, according to all the PROPHECIES and according to Ephesians 1:4. So then, the phrase “Jesus the Christ” means “The salvation of Yahweh THROUGH His human Son whom He Himself ANOINTED, according to Acts 10:38. For a deeper understanding of what anointed means, according to the Bible itself, please read the study “JESUS THE CHRIST!” But for now, let us move on to the next verse of Scripture, John 8:58, that this Trinitarian author uses to TRY and prove that Jesus himself CLEARLY makes the claim that he IS THE ALMIGHTY God Himself in the flesh.
Again, let is read this isolated hand-selected VAGUE verse of Scripture that Trinitarian Christians take OUT of its context to try and prove that Jesus is CLAIMING that he is Almighty God Himself simply by saying the words “Before Abraham was I am.” But let us kept it in the context of where it is found so that you can see that the Trinitarian INTERPRETATION of John 8:58 CONTRADICTS other verses of Scripture.
Please read John 8:6,12-59.
“6. This they said, TEMPTING him, that they might have to ACCUSE him. (Please notice that Jesus is being TEMPTED and, according to James, God Himself can NOT be TEMPTED. Also, notice that these unbelieving Jews wanted is to trap Jesus in his words so that they could ACCUSE him of blasphemy so that people would stop following Jesus and follow them) But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not...
...12. Then spake Jesus again unto them, (The unbelieving Jews) saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
13. The Pharisees, therefore, said unto him, You bear record of yourself; your record is not true. (And, again, the unbelieving Jews ACCUSE Jesus of lying saying that his record is not true. And thus, people should not follow him but follow them instead)
14. Jesus answered (Or Jesus defended himself against the FALSE accusations of the unbelieving Jews) and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record IS true: for I know from where I came, and where I go, but you cannot tell from where I come, and where I go.
5. You judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
16. And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am NOT ALONE, but I and the Father that sent me. (In other words, Jesus is saying that he is not ALONE because his God and Father is WITH him by DWELLING IN him who is the one doing the works, according to John 14:10,11. For you see, according to John 5:19, the Son of MAN, Jesus, could do NOTHING OF himself)
17. It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
18. I am one that bears witness of myself, and the Father that sent me (Or Almighty God, the Father is number two that) bears witness of me. (Therefore, the testimony or the record of Jesus is TRUE. My main point is that the one and only true God who alone is the Father was WITH His human Son Jesus by His Holy Spirit DWELLING IN him from the time that his God and Father ANOINTED him at his baptism in order to ENDUE His human Son with POWER from on high)
19. Then said they unto him, Where is your Father? Jesus answered, You neither know me nor my Father: if you had known me, you should have known my Father also.
20. These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.
21. Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and you shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: where I go, you cannot come. (Jesus is saying that he is going to die on the cross first and then he is going to ascend into heaven and some of the Jews will seek him while other Jews will die in their sins because of their unbelief of WHO Jesus is saying that he is. And at the very beginning of his MINISTRY Jesus BEGAN to say that he is the Christ or the one prophesied in the Scriptures as the one God would ANOINT, according to Luke 4:1-22. Jesus also said that they will know who he is after they lifted him up or crucified the Son of MAN, according to John 8:28 in the very CONTEXT of John 8:58. In other words, Jesus uses the SAME words saying “You will KNOW I am [he]” in John 8:28 that he did in John 8:58. And clearly seeing that from the BEGINNING Jesus told the Jews that he is the Christ then it makes no sense for John to INTEND his record of Jesus to mean that Jesus is saying that he is Almighty God Yahweh Himself in John 8:58. For you see, The Apostle John CLEARLY tells what he himself INTENDS his words to mean in John 20:30,31. Here is what my KJV Bible says, “The Purpose of This BookJohn 20:30. And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: John 20:31. But these are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”)
22. Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he says, Where I go, you cannot come.
23. And he said unto them, You are from beneath; I am from above: you are of this world; I am not of this world. (In other words, Jesus is saying that they are BELIEVERS and are not yet born-again because they do NOT yet BELIEVE that Jesus is the Christ. Trinitarian Christians “interpret” this verse to mean that a pre-existed God the Son came down from heaven. But in TRUTH, Jesus says the WE who BELIEVE are also from ABOVE and NOT OF this world as well in John 17:14-16 even as or in the same manner that Jesus is not of this world)
24. I said, therefore, unto you, that you shall die in your sins: for if you BELIEVE NOT that I am he, you shall die in your sins. (Again, Trinitarian Christians AND Oneness Pentecostal Christians “INTERPRET” this verse as Jesus daying that he is Yahweh, the Almighty God Himself and if Christians do NOT believe that Jesus IS Almighty God Himself manifested or incarnated in the flesh that they will die in their sins. But in the very next verse Jesus teaches us EXACLTY WHO he is saying that he is by answering the question of the Jews, WHO are YOU?)
25 Then said they unto him, Who are you? And Jesus said unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning. (Now, Trinitarian Christians “interpret” the phrase “form the BEGINNING” to mean John 1:1 and that Jesus is saying that he is the Almighty God Himself because John 1:1 says that the Word was God. But IF that INTERPRETATION is true then the Jews would have picked up stones and stone Jesus right then and there for saying that he himself is God. But after Jesus explains a little more of WHO he is saying that he is many of the Jews BELIEVED in him. But yet, the Trinitarian argument for John 8:58 where Jesus said the SAME words “I am” they argue that the jews knew right well that Jesus is saying that he is the great I AM THAT I AM in Exodus 3:14 BECAUSE in verse 59 the Jews pick up stones to stone him and that PROVES Jesus is saying that he is the Almighty God Yahweh, Himself, according to Trinitarian Christians. So if the Trinitarian interpretation of John 8:58 is true, then why did the Jews NOT pick up stones to stone Jesus in verse 24 when he said the SAME word “I am”, but rather they BELIEVED? I will tell you why. It is because Trinitarian and Oneness Pentecostal Christians have ERRORED in the INTERPRETATION of the Scriptures. For you see, the “beginning” that Jesus is referring to is the beginning of his MINISTRY and NOT John 1:1. And in Luke 4:1-22 Jesus BEGAN to tell the Jews that he is the one spoken of in the Scriptures as the one that God would raise up from among the people and ANOINT as His Messiah or as His Savior to save the people from their sins. Jesus said this SCRIPTURE is FULFILLED in their ears. So the phrase “I am” means that Jesus is the one PROPHESIED in the Scriptures to come BEFORE Abraham and John the Baptist we even born)
26. I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true, and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.
27. They understood not, that he spake to them of the Father. (Now, Oneness Pentecostal Christians use this verse to try and prove that Jesus is saying that he IS the Father. But again, they have errored in their interpretation of the Scripture because their interpretation CONTRADICTS many verses in the Bible that clearly teaches us that Jesus is NOT the Father)
28. Then said Jesus unto them, When you have lifted up the Son of MAN, (And NOT when up have liked up Almighty God Himself on the cross) then shall you know that I am he, AND that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father has taught me, I speak these things. (Now, if so be that Jesus is supposedly CLAIMING to be Almighty God Himself in the flesh then why does Jesus say that he can do NOTHING OF himself? I will tell you why. It is because Jesus is NOT claiming that he is Almighty God Himself as Trinitarian and Oneness Christians dogmatically demand by using INTIMIDATION that you are DEAD in your sin if you do not believe that Jesus simply saying the words “I am” mean that Jesus is saying that he IS Almighty God Himself in the flesh. But the TRUTH of the matter is that Jesus is saying that the prophesied ANOINTING came in the FLESH and that he is the one prophesied whom Yahweh would ANOINT with His Holy Spirit and power)
29. And He that sent me is WITH me: the Father has not left me ALONE; for I do always those things that please Him. (The Greek word translated as sent literally means HE the one SENDING me in the present tense. It was the human Son of God that the Father was sending here and there telling His ANOINTED human Son what to do and what to say at each place God was SENDING him as being LED by the Holy Spirit dwelling in him)
30. As he spake these words, many believed on him. (In other words, as Jesus spoke the words from John 8:24 through John 8:28 MANY Jews BELIEVED on him that God was WITH him and NOT that Jesus was claiming that he himself is that Almighty God Yahweh Himself and Trinitarian and Oneness Pentecostal Christians INTERPRET the words of Jesus in John 8:58)
31. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If you continue in my word, (To believe that I am the Christ, the SON OF the living God whom Yahweh prophesied to raise up from among the people to save the people from their sins, according to Zechariah 9:9, Isaiah 62:11, Psalm 110, Isaiah 9:6,7, Isaiah 32:1,2, and Jeremiah 30:9) then are you, my disciples, indeed;
32. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33. They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were NEVER in bondage to any man: how say you, You shall be made free?
34. Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin.
35. And the servant abides not in the house forever: but the SON abides ever.
36. If the SON, therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.
37. I know that you are Abraham’s seed, but you seek to KILL me because my word has no place in you.
38. I speak that which I have seen WITH my Father: (Or I only speak that which I have PERCEIVED out of my Father dwelling in me telling me what to say and do) and you do that which you have seen with your father. (Speaking of the Jews dong what the hear their father the devils sying to them)
39. They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus said unto them, If you were Abraham's children, you would do the WORKS of Abraham.
40. But now you seek to kill me, a MAN that has told you the TRUTH, which I have heard of GOD: this did not Abraham.
41. You do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
42. Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, you would love me: for I PROCEEDED FORTH and CAME FROM God; neither came I OF MYSELF, but HE (Speaking of Almighty God the Father) sent me. (In other words, Jesus is saying that he came out of God as the word of prophecy that was fulfilled at his virgin birth and not he is coming to them BECAUSE OF God COMMISSIONING him or ANOINTING him with His Holy Spirit and he is being LED of God’s Spirit)
43. Why do you not understand my speech? Even because you cannot hear my word.
44. You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar and the father of it.
45. And because I tell you the truth, you believe me not. (And the TRUTH which Jesus has been telling them form the BEGINNING of his ministry is that the Scriptures testify of him as being the Christ or the one prophesied that God would ANOINT with His Spirit to be His Savior or Messiah who would not SIN. For you see, the prophecy says that God would CALL him in RIGHTEOUSNESS, according to Isaiah 42:6 which is just one of many prophecies)
46. Which of you convinces me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do you not believe me?
47. He that is of God hears God’s words: you, therefore, hear them not, because you are not of God.
48. Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that you are a Samaritan, and have a devil? (Here we see the Jews ACCUSING Jesus of being possessed of the devil so how can Trinitarian and Oneness Pentecostal Christians believe the Jews accusations over what Jesus himself says as who he is?)
49. Jesus answered, I have not a devil, but I honor my Father, and you do dishonor me. (By you not believing that God COMMISSIONED or ANOINTED me to preach His Kingdom as being at hand)
50. And I seek NOT mine OWN glory: there is ONE that seeks and judges. (And that ONE who Jesus is NOT will judge to world BY the MAN that Yahweh ORDAINED, according to Acts 17:31)
51. Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keeps my saying, he shall never see death.
52. Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that you have a devil. (Again, according to the Trinitarian argument for John 8:58 is the Jews knew right well who Jesus is saying that he is. But in truth, the unbelieving Jews simply did NOT understand the words of Jesus and all they wanted to do is to have the people follow them and to stop following Jesus. So every chance they could find they falsely ACCUSED Jesus of something. And here in this verse, they ACCUSE Jesus of having a devil. So, again, are you going to believe the Jews over who Jesus began to say from the BEGINNING of his ministry and that Jesus and his Apostles CONTINUED to say all the way through his ministry and recorded for us in the entire New Testament?) Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and you say, If a man keeps my saying, he shall never taste of death.
53. Are you GREATER than our father Abraham, which is dead? And the prophets are dead: WHOM make you yourself?
54. Jesus answered, If I honor Myself, my honor is nothing: it is my Father that honors me; of whom you say, that He is your God: (Always keep in mind that Jesus himself says that Almighty God the Father is his God. So how can the Almighty God Yahweh Himself have another God over Himself if so be that Jesus claimed to be the Almighty God Yahweh Himself in the flesh as Trinitarian and Oneness Christians CLAIM? For you see, the very meaning of the word “Almighty” means that there can be NO other God ABOVE the ONE TRUE God who ALONE is the Almighty God. And, CLEARLY, the Bible ITSELF teaches us that The Father is THE God OF Jesus in many places in the Scriptures)
55. Yet you have not known Him; (WHY? Why did Jesus say that these Jews do NOT KNOW God? BECAUSE they do NOT OBEY God's word) but I know Him: (Or I have PERCEIVED Him to understand that it is Yahweh speaking to me telling me what to say and what to do) and if I should say, I know Him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know Him, and KEEP His saying. (Or I obey what Yahweh my God and Father is telling me to say and do)
56. Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, (Or Abraham UNDERSTOOD that one day Almighty God would send His MESSIAH to them to be crucified as an innocent MAN in order to FREE them, and whosever believes in Jesus, from SIN) and was glad.
57. Then said the Jews unto him, You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham? (Again, the Jews have no idea who Jesus is. They do NOT understand the words of Jesus and they WANT to KILL him so that the people will follow them, according to the context of John 8:58 in John 8:3-6. Remember that the Jews THOUGHT that Jesus was saying that he is OLDER than Abraham. But Jesus is saying in the next verse what he BEGAN to say at the very beginning of his MINISTRY that he is the one who is PROPHESIED in the Scriptures. SO Jesus is saying that before Abraham was ever born I was COMING INTO BEING as the FULFILLMENT of the PROPHECIES in the Scripture to be God’s Messiah, that Christ and also be the SON OF the living God)
58. Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, BEFORE Abraham was, I AM.
59. Then took they up stones to cast at him: (Because they unbelieving Jew, AGAIN, misunderstood the words of Jesus and thought that Jesus was saying that he existed BEFORE Abraham) but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.”
Again, I myself do NOT see anywhere in this passage of Scripture that Jesus CLEARLY claims to be THE ALMIGHTY God Himself in the flesh.
It must be INTERPRETED that Jesus is quoting Exodus 3:14.
So let us ASSUME that Jesus is quoting the English TRANSLATION of Exodus 3:14 that says “I AM THAT I AM”. So which “I AM” is Jesus claiming to be? In other words, IF so be that Jesus is quoting the English translation of Exodus 3:14, then did Jesus claim to be the FIRST “I AM” or did Jesus claim to be the LAST “I AM”?
First of all, I want to point out that IF one INTERPRETS this passage of Scripture to mean that Jesus is clearly claiming to be the FIRST “I AM” then Jesus is claiming to be the Almighty God the FATHER, Himself. For you see, the New Testament always clearly identifies the God OF Jesus as being the Father.
However, IF so be that Jesus is quoting the English translation of Exodus 3:14 and claiming that he is the LAST “I AM” then Jesus would be saying that the Scriptures PROPHESY of him COMING INTO BEING. And that is what the Greek words, “ego eimi” means. The root word of “eimi” is “einai” which means I am to be. And the Greek word “translated” as “BEFORE Abraham WAS” means “BEFORE Abraham WAS to come into being”. So John 8:58 should be translated as “BEFORE Abraham was to come into being I was to come into being”. In other words, Jesus was PROPHESIED to come into being BEFORE Abraham came into being. The Lamb slain before the foundation of the world was the FIRST thought for God to bring into existence way before the thought of Abraham and John the Baptist. For a more in-depth study on John 8:58 to learn in true sound Biblical meaning in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God please read the study “JOHN 8:58 BEFORE ABRAHAM I AM?” But for now, let us continue this study to answer the doctrine of the Trinity to show OTHER interpretations of the verse present by Trinitarian Christians as their proof that God is a Trinity Godhead.
The next verse that this Trinitarian author on the website ChristianAnswers.net website uses as a proof text that Jesus is Almighty God Himself in the flesh is John 10:30.
Again, let us read the context of John 10:30 to assure that we gain the correct sound Biblical understanding of this verse of Scripture in the light of the whole word of Almighty God.
Please read John 10:19-38.
“There was a division, therefore, again among the Jews for these sayings.
20. And many of them said, He (Speaking of Jesus) has a DEVIL, and is mad; why do you hear him?
21. Others said, These are not the words of him who has a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?
22. And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.
23. And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.
24. Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long do you make us doubt? If you be the Christ, tell us plainly. (Please notice that the Jews did NOT ask if Jesus was Almighty God Himself in the flesh, but rather, the unbelieving Jews asked Jesus if he was the Christ, the one PROPHESIED to come?)
25. Jesus answered them, I told you, and you believed NOT: (In other words, Jesus is answering their QUESTION as YES! I am the Christ, the SAME that I having been telling you from the BEGINNING. And you still do not believe that I am the Christ the one prophesied to come. So BELIEVE the WORKS that the one DWELLING IN me is doing) the WORKS that I DO in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. (That the Scriptures speak of ME and the one prophesied to come whom God would CALL in righteousness and whom God would ANOINT to do His Will)
26. But you believe NOT, because you are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28. And I give unto them eternal life; (Because after the cross my God will COMMIT all judgment into my hands and GIVE me the power and the authority to raise the dead and give eternal life to whosoever I find worthy) and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29. My Father, which GAVE them me, is GREATER than ALL; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30. I and my Father are ONE. (This is the verse that both Trinitarians and Oneness Pentecostal Christians INTERPRET to mean that Jesus is the ONE TRUE God by being ONE and the self-same “God: and the Father. But this verse does NOT say I and God are ONE, but rather it says “I and my FATHER are ONE” So them IF Jesus truly mean that is is one and the SAME then Jesus would be saying that he IS the FATHER Himself and that contradicts what the doctrine of the Trinity teaches. So ONLY Oneness Pentecostal Christians can use this verse of Scripture to try and prove that Jesus is saying that he is the Father. But again, that “interpretation” contradicts a vast number of Scriptures that clearly teach us that Jesus is NOT the Father Himself)
31. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32. Jesus answered them, Many good WORKS have I showed you from my Father; for which of those WORKS do you stone me?
33. The Jews answered him, saying, For a GOOD WORK we stone you not; but for blasphemy; and because that you, being a MAN, make yourself God. (Keep in mind that these are the same Jews that ACCUSED Jesus of having a DEVIL and being mad in John 10:20)
34. Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, YOU are gods?
35. If He (Almighty God the Father through His prophets) called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the Scripture cannot be broken;
36. Say you of him, whom the Father has sanctified, and sent into the world, You blaspheme; because I said, I am the SON OF God? (Jesus never said of himself that he was Almighty God at any time in this passage of Scripture or in any other verse of Scripture in the entire New Testament. Keep in mind that Jesus is DEFENDING himself against this FALSE accusation that he is making HIMSELF “A” God or that he claimed that he himself is the Almighty God Yahweh Himself. Jesus DEFENDED himself saying that the very word of Almighty God says that YOU are GODS so how can you say that I am blaspheming by simply saying that I am the SON OF God?)
37. If I do not the WORKS OF my Father, believe me not.
38. But if I do, though you believe not me, believe the WORKS: that you may KNOW, and BELIEVE, that the Father is IN me, and I IN him.”
Those that teach the doctrine of the Trinity pull verse 30 OUT of CONTEXT and say that since Jesus said that he and his Father are ONE, then, therefore, Jesus is saying that he is Almighty God Himself in the flesh. And again, that is their “INTERPRETATION” of John 10:30 because that verse does NOT state as a fact that Jesus says “I and my God are ONE and the self-SAME Almighty God. Rather, it says, I and my FATHER are one.” So again, Trinitarian Christians would have to say that Jesus is saying that he is one and the SELF-SAME BEING AS the FATHER if they dogmatically insist that the word ONE must, without fail, mean one and the self-same. Keep in mind to COMPARE Scripture with Scripture and allow the Scripture to tell us what the word ONE actually means. Jesus prayed to the Father in John 17:20-23 that WE who believe will be ONE with Jesus and the Father EVEN AS the Father and Jesus are ONE. And we know that we will not become Almighty God Himself at the coming of Jesus. But rather, we will be one in AGREEMENT with Jesus and the Father just as the human ANOINTED Son of Jesus was ONE with the FATHER.
Please read John 17:11,20-22.
“And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to you. Holy Father, keep through Your own name those whom you hast given me, that they may be ONE, AS we are...
...20. Neither do I pray for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21. That they all may be ONE; AS You, Father, are IN me, and I in You, that they ALSO may be ONE in us: that the world may believe that You have sent me. (Or that you have COMMISSIONED me. The word commission means to GIVE power and authority to one to accomplish the task that one is given to do. Not one verse saying that Jesus was SENT means that a pre-existing Son of God was sent DOWN fro heaven, but rather that the HUMAN Son of God was sent OUT into the world after being ANOINTED with the Holy Spirit and with power)
22. And the glory which You GAVE me I have given them; that they may be ONE, EVEN AS WE are ONE:”
So then, CLEARLY, Jesus as being ONE with the Father does NOT mean that Jesus is saying that he himself is the one true and only Almighty God because we will be ONE with Jesus and the Father when we are made partakers of the divine nature AT the coming of Jesus. Plus, Jesus himself clearly identifies the Father as being the ONLY TRUE God in John 17:1-3.
Also, if one INTERPRETS John 10:30 where Jesus is saying, “I and my Father are ONE” to mean that Jesus is saying that he is EQUAL with Almighty God in EVERY WAY where NEITHER is GREATER than nor less than the other, then Trinitarian Christians have yet another CONTRADICTION with the word of TRUTH found in John 14:28. For you see, Jesus himself PLAINLY and CLEARLY states that Almighty God the FATHER is GREATER than himself.
Please read John 14:28.
“You have heard how I said unto you, I go away and come again unto you. If you loved me, you would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is GREATER than I.”
So then, it is CLEARLY an INCORRECT INTERPRETATION to say that the words of Jesus saying “I and my Father are ONE” must, without fail, mean that Jesus is the Almighty God Himself or that it means that Jesus is saying that he is equal to his God and Father. For you see, Jesus also says that Almighty God the Father is GREATER than himself.
Can you not see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, that each and every one of these verses of Scripture that are used by those that teach the doctrine of the Trinity are incorrectly “INTERPRETED” and that the Trinitarian interpretation of these verses of Scripture CONTRADICT many other verses of Scripture in the word of Almighty God. The TRUTH of the matter is that the word ONE is all these passages of Scripture mean AGREE as ONE in UNITY toward the same goal or purpose. A husband and wife become ONE in that they AGREE as ONE to walk together in agreement.
The next point of the Trinitarian argument in this article on the Trinitarian website Christian Answers.net, this Trinitarian author quotes Isaiah 43:25 and Mark 2:7 as his proof text to try and prove the doctrine of the Trinity and that Jesus is the Almighty God Himself in the flesh. And his line of reasoning is that ONLY Almighty God can FORGIVE SINS. Trinitarian Christians FAIL to understand that if God GIVES the authority to one to forgive sins then who are we to dogmatically insist that only God Himself can forgive sins.
Here is Isaiah 43:25.
“I, even I, am he that blots out your transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember your sins.”
And here is Mark 2:7.
“Why does this MAN thus speak blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God ONLY?”
Then Trinitarian Christians argue that since Jesus FORGAVE SINS then Jesus is, therefore, ALMIGHTY God Yahweh Himself in the flesh simply because the UNBELIEVING Jews say that ONLY Almighty God has the POWER to FORGIVE SINS.
Isaiah 43:25 is speaking of Yahweh PROVIDING a way for Him to blot out the sins of the world for all the WHOSEVERS who BELIEVE in God’s Messiah.
So then, these two verses do NOT PROVE beyond any shadow of a doubt that Jesus IS THE ALMIGHTY God Himself in the flesh simply because Jesus FORGAVE SINS?
Let us take a look at the WHOLE word of God and see HOW Jesus actually FORGAVE SIN. And I assure you that it was NOT by Jesus as being ALMIGHTY God Himself in the FLESH, but rather, it was BECAUSE Jesus was the human SON of MAN whom God ordained and anointed. Remember that the word Jesus spoke were the words that Yahweh the Father Himself PUT in the mouth of His prophet, Jesus, according to Deuteronomy So all Jesus did was to simply OBEY his God and Father DWELLING in him to do a SAY what his God and Father told him to say and do. So in TRUTH, it was actually the FATHER who did the WORKS to forgive the sins. In other words, Jesus was GIVEN the POWER to forgive sin BY his God and Father DWELLING IN him telling him to SAY “Your sins are forgiven you.” Let us go ahead and read Mark 2:7 in its entire CONTEXT.
Please read Mark 2:3-12.
“And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.
4. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
5. When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, your SINS BE FORGIVEN YOU.
6. But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
7. Why does this man thus speak blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God ONLY?
8. And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
9. Whether is it EASIER to say to the sick of the palsy, Your sins be forgiven you; OR to say, Arise, and take up your bed, and walk?
10. BUT that you may KNOW that the Son of MAN has the POWER on earth to FORGIVE SINS, (he said to the sick of the palsy,) (Can you not see my dear brothers and sister in our Lord Jesus Christ, that the human Son of MAN, Jesus was ANOINTED with the Holy Spirit and POWER not only to heal the sick but also to FORGIVE SINS? Can you not see that when WE lay hands on the sick that it is God Himself who raises them up and IF they have any SINS then their SINS are also forgiven them as well, according to James 5:14,15, when WE pray the prayer of faith? It is not us who are actually forgiving their sins, but rather, it is God dwelling IN us who does the WORK of healing and the forgiving of their sins. Jesus also said that whose sins we remit that they are remitted. To me, this remitting of sins means that if we do NOT press charges so to speak for a person’s sin against us personally then neither does God hold them accountable for THAT particular sin that we say I FORGIVE you)
11. I say unto you, Arise, and take up your bed, and go your way into your house.
12. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were ALL amazed, and GLORIFIED God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.”
First of all, we see that it is the unbelieving Jews ACCUSING Jesus of BLASPHEMY because he said to the sick of palsy “Your SINS be FORGIVEN you”. In other words, the Jews clearly saw that Jesus was just a MAN and that am MAN just forgave another man’s sins. So the unbelieving Jews made the ACCUSATION that Jesus could NOT forgive sins because they themselves BELIEVED that ONLY God Himself could FORGIVE SINS. But they failed to understand that God GAVE His Messiah the POWER to forgive sins because he was an agent or instrument in God’s hands OBEYING his God and father to do and SAY whatever God DWELLING IN him told him to do or say. So Jesus was simply OBEYING His God and Father’s VOICE to SAY’ Your sins be forgiven you”. Jesus said that the Son could do NOTHING OF himself and that it was his Father dwelling in him who was the one DOING the works.
Now, the Jews who did believe that Jesus is the Christ and as the SON OF the living God did NOT see Jesus as being THE Almighty God Himself in the FLESH. But rather, the believing Jews saw Jesus as a MAN who was APPROVED by Almighty God. Please read Acts 2:22 which CLEARLY and PLAINLY teaches us that Jesus was APPROVED by Almighty God BY the mighty works and miracles that Almighty God Himself did BY or THROUGH His Son Jesus who He Himself ANOINTED with the Holy Spirit and power, according to Acts 10:38. As you read Act 2:22, please notice that it does NOT say, “You men of Israel, hear these words, Jesus proved that he is Almighty God Himself in the flesh BY the miracles and wonders that he did in his own power as being Yahweh Himself in the flesh in the midsts of you, as you yourselves also know.
Here is what Acts 2:22 actually says.
“You men of Israel, HEAR THESE WORDS; Jesus of Nazareth, a MAN APPROVED of God among you BY miracles and wonders and signs, which God did BY him in the midst of you, as you yourselves also know:”
This is the SAME way that WE as believers lay hands on the sick and they are healed. It is NOT us who are doing the HEALING, but rather, it is Almighty God who dwells in us who is the one that is ACTUALLY doing the healing THROUGH us. Then we read in Acts 10:38 how Almighty God ANOINTED His HUMAN Son, Jesus, WITH His Holy Spirit and this is HOW Jesus healed the people and forgave sin WHEN he was LED by the Holy Spirit dwelling in him to do so.
Acts 10:38.
“How God ANOINTED Jesus of Nazareth WITH the Holy Ghost and with POWER: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for (Or BECAUSE) God was WITH him.”
And NOT because Jesus is Almighty God Himself in the flesh as Trinitarian and Oneness Pentecostal Christians CLAIM. You see my dear brothers and sister in our Lord Jesus Christ, Almighty God the Father GAVE His SON Jesus POWER and AUTHORITY and put His Holy Spirit IN His Son and this is HOW Jesus went about doing good and healing the sick and FORGIVING SIN because Almighty God was WITH His Son Jesus leading and guiding the HUMAN Jesus. It was the Holy Spirit of Almighty God that DWELT IN Jesus that did the WORKS. And it is the SAME Holy Spirit that is promised to EVERY believer to EMPOWER us to do the SAME WORKS that Jesus did. And God dwelling in us does NOT make us BE Almighty God in the FLESH.
Let us move on to yet another article posted on Christian Research Institute entitled Does the Bible Claim Jesus to be God?
This Trinitarian author opens his argument for Jesus as being Almighty God Himself in the flesh with Titus 2:13.
Titus 2:13.
“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;”
I believe that the author of this article is Hank Hanegraaff who writes the following. Again I will put his words in a different font style.
“Many Biblical texts can be used to demonstrate that Jesus is God. Three, however, stand out above the rest. Not only are they clear and convincing, but their “addresses” are easy to remember as well—John1, Colossians1, and Hebrews1."
Before we take a look at those three passages of Scripture let us take a look at some other possible INTERPRETATIONS of Titus 2:13 above.
Here is Titus 2:13 again with the emphasis on the conjunction “and”.
“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God AND our Savior Jesus Christ;”
Now IF this verse of Scripture said “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of Almighty God the Father AND our Savior Jesus Christ, then NO Trinitarian Christians would dogmatically “INTERPRET” the conjunction “AND to mean the Jesus is BOTH Almighty God the FATHER and our Savior Jesus Christ. But rather, Trinitaraisn would dogmatically INSIST that the conjunction “AND” means that Almighty God the FATHER and our Savior Jesus Christ are entirely TWO separate and distinctly DIFFERENT persons and NOT one and the self-same being. But whenever it is convenient for Trinitarian Christians to “interpret” words in a verse of Scripture to try and prove that Jesus is Almighty God Himself in the flesh then they will CHANGE the meaning of words to mean what they NEED them to mean. And that is what is being done here in Titus 3:13.
Another well known and highly abused Trinitarian argument that is used to try and prove that Jesus is Yahweh Himself is the argument that there is only ONE Savior. And since both Jesus and the Father are called Savoir then that proves that Jesus is Yahweh Himself. Think for yourselves my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ! Who delivered the children of Israel from the bondage of Egypt? It was Yahweh who delivered the children of Israel. Now, HOW did Yahweh deliver the children of Israel from Egypt? Yahweh sent a MAN named Moses to DELIVER the children of Israel. Now, was the MAN, Moses, Yahweh Himself simply because Yahweh used a MAN to deliver the children of Israel? Absolutely NOT! So why do Trinitarian Christians try to FORCE the MAN, Jesus to BE Almighty God Himself in the flesh simply because Almighty God Yahweh the Father used a MAN to be His Savior to save His people from their sins?
Let us continue with the other three Trinitarian poof text passages of Scripture that are used to try and prove that Jesus is the Almighty God Yahweh Himself in the flesh.
First, is John1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (v.1). Here Jesus is not only in existence before the world began, but is differentiated from the Father and explicitly called God, indicating that He shares the same nature as His Father.
Just briefly, the CLEAR word of God says that the WORD was with God and the WORD was God and NOT in the beginning was JESUS was with God and JESUS was God. Nor does the CLEAR word of God say in the beginning was the SON and the SON was with God and the SON was God.
You see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, the CLEAR word of Almighty God says that the “WORD” was MADE FLESH in John 1:14. And NOT that the SON was made flesh. Nor doe it say the God was made flesh. So one must INTERPRET the word to mean a divine person who was with the Almighty God at the Almighty God’s side in the eternity past. But you see, the word was capitalized to make it SEEM as if the Word is a person, as opposed to the word being the SAYING or the PROPHECY of God. So when we read John 1:1 as the word being the spoken word of PROPHECY was in the beginning TOWARD God and God was the spoken word of PROPHECY then that AGREES with all the PROPHECIES in the Old Testament that PROPHESY that the child born of a virgin shall be CALLED by the NAME the Mighty God WHEN the government is laid upon his shoulder to rule FOR Yahweh in the NAME OF Yahweh fro 1000 years. So to me, John 1:1c should have been translated as “And ‘A’ God was the SAYING”. For you see, that is what has been FULFILLED. Jesus is “A” God under and subject to his God who alone is the FATHER. Please read the studies “DID JESUS HAVE A BEGINNING?” and “ARE THERE TWO GODS?” For you see, Yahweh the Father is called the God OF gods and the Father is the God OF Jesus who is called God BY his God AFTER the cross. Yes, I said AFTER the cross because that is when the Father glorified His human Son, Jesus, according to Philippians 2:8-11 and Hebrews 1:8,9
For now, take a look at Hebrews 1:5 which is a quote of a PROPHECY that prophesies a yet coming Son of God into existence to be begotten on a certain day in the future. So seeing that Yahweh prophesied to one day have a Son then how did God’s Son always exist without ever having a beginning as Trinitarian Christians CLAIM because they NEED a co-eternal Son our their doctrine of a Trinity Godhead falls apart.
Hebrews 1:5.
“For unto which of the angels said he at any time, You are my Son, THIS DAY have I BEGOTTEN you? And again, I WILL BE to him a Father, and he SHALL BE to me a Son.”
This is WHEN Almighty God actually BECAME a FATHER and Jesus ACTUALLY BECAME God's, ETERNAL Son. Please read the three-part study “WHEN DID JESUS BECOME GOD’S ETERNAL SON?” But for now, let us take a closer look at Hebrew 1:8,8 which is where Jesus is CALLED God by his God and Father AFTER the cross.
Hebrews 1:8,9.
“But unto the Son, He says, (Or Yahweh PROPHESIED in the Old Testament) Your throne, O God, is forever and ever: (Or you throne O God is for and age to and age speaking of the Millennial age of 1000 years to the age of eternity future after the 1000 year reign of Jesus comes to an END and the Son commits that kingdom back into the hands of his Father, according to 1 Corinthians 15:20-28) a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; THEREFORE, (Or for this very reason that you love righteousness and hated iniquity to NOT sin) God, even YOUR God, has ANOINTED you with the oil of GLADNESS ABOVE your FELLOWS.”
Now if one “interprets” Hebrews 1:8 to mean that Jesus always existed as God the Son in the eternity past then they must be consistent in their interpreting of the Scripture and conclude that God the Son in the eternity past was SAD and he was NOT above his fellows and that sin existed in heaven in the eternity past because he hated sin. But when you understand that the writer of Hebrew is QUOTING a PROPHECY from the Old Testament then you can clearly see that Yahweh PROPHESIED a HUMAN Son to be born of a virgin. And then that HUMAN Son of MAN would be lifted up on the cross. And After God raised His human Son from the dead THEN God would MAKE His FIRSTBORN Son from the dead to be the FIRST human to very be GIVEN the divine nature of immortality to be MAE in the IMAGE of God the FIRSTBORN of every NEW creature created in righteousness never to die again. Let us move on to the next Trinitarians argument.
Furthermore, Colossians1 informs us that“all things were created by him” (v.16); He is“before all things” (v.17); and “God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him” (v.19). Only deity has the prerogative of creation, pre-exists all things, and personifies the full essence and nature of God.
First of all, you need to know that the English word “things” was ADDED by the translators and that there is NO greek word in the original text that can be translated as the word “things” in these verses of Scripture. Plus, you need to know that the CONTEXT is speaking of BELIEVERS so the word “ALL” is referring to the ALL of whosoever BELIEVES to become NEW creatures created IN Jesus Christ. And you also need to know that the Greek word translated as “BY” also means IN him, FOR him, and for the sake of him. So let us begin by quoting the whole CONTEXT.
Please read Colossians 1:10-19.
“That you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11. Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness;
12. Giving thanks unto the Father, which has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: (Referring to the ALL of whosever BELIEVES to be created IN him referring to IN God’s Son, Jesus Christ)
13. Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear SON:
14. In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15.WHO (Speaking of Jesus the SON of Almighty God) is the IMAGE OF the INVISIBLE God, the FIRSTBORN of every CREATURE: (Now the Jehovah’s Witnesses “interpret” this verse to mean that Jesus was begotten by God in the eternity past to become God’s FIRSTBORN Son of every creature and then Jesus created everything else. But that is NOT what the CONTEXT teaches us. According to Colossians 1:18, this verse 15 means that Jesus is the FIRSTBORN from the DEAD to be made in the IMAGE of his God and Father AFTER the cross and after God highly exalted His human Son Jesus to be made a partaker of the DIVINE NATURE of IMMORTALITY to be the BEGINNING of God NEW creation of righteous immortal humans to JUDGE Lucifer, aka, Satan and the fallen angels. Know you not that WE shall JUDGE the angels?)
16. For BY (Or IN) him were all things created, (The greek word translated as “by” also mean IN him, FOR him, for the SAKE OF him, and BECAUSE OF him. Also, the word “things” is NOT in the original Greek text and the context is speaking of the ALL of whosoevers who believes to be created IN Jesus Christ by Almighty God the Father to become God new creation of NEW creatures of righteous humans who are being conformed into the image of God firstborn Son. And many of the ALL who believe are in heaven waiting for their new glorified bodies that Jesus was GIVEN after the cross. So then, For IN him are the ALL of the whosever who believe) that are IN heaven, and that are IN (Or still alive one the) earth, visible (Speaking of us who are alive on the earth) and invisible, (Speaking of the all who believe that are in heaven and cannot be seen by us on the earth. And ALSO created IN Jesus or more specifically FOR Jesus and his joint HEIRS are seats of authority) whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created BY him, (Again, the word “things” is NOT in the original Greek text and the Greek word translated as “by” also means IN him, FOR him, for the SAKE OF him, and BECAUSE OF him. So then the ALL of whosever believes were created IN him) and FOR him:
17. And he is BEFORE all things (Again, the word “things” is NOT in the original text and the word translated as “before” also means ABOVE. So then. And he is ABOVE the ALL of whosever believes) and BY him all things consist. (Again, the Greek word translated a “by” also means IN him. FOR him. For the SAKE OF him, and BECAUSE OF him. So then, and BECAUSE OF him the ALL of whosever believes stand together with Jesus as joint heirs of the worlds yet to come)
18. And he is the head of the body, the church: (Or he is the head of the church of the FIRSTBORN) who is the BEGINNING, the FIRSTBORN from the dead;(To become the FIRSTBORN among many BRETHREN) that in all things he might have the preeminence (Again, the word “things in NOT in the original Greek text and the ALL refers to the ALL of whosoever believes. And the PROPHECY says that God will MAKE His FIRSTBORN higher that the kings of the earth which is speaking of the ALL of whosoever believes being made kings under our King of kings and Lord of lords at his coming).
19. FOR (Or BECAUSE) it PLEASED the FATHER that IN him should all fulness DWELL;”
And again, this is AFTER the cross and resurrection of the human Son ,Jesus, that Almighty God the Father GLORIFIED His now ETERNAL Son will the FULNESS of the Godhead to JOIN his God and Father on Yahweh throne to wait for the world to come WHEN God will BRING His FIRST BEGOTTEN Son into the world to be worshiped by the angels, according to Hebrews 1:3-6. Please read Colossians 2:6-9 which CLEARLY teaches us that the fulness of the Godhead DWELT IN Jesus and NOT that the HUMAN Jesus was ACTUALLY the FULNESS OF the Godhead
Colossians 2:6-9.
“As you have, therefore, received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk you in him:
7. Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8. Beware lest any man spoils you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the TRADITION of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after CHRIST (Did you know that the pagans believed in trinity godheads long before Christians fought against other Christians for over three centuries while the doctrine of the Trinity was being from between the mid-third century and the mid to late fifth-century?)
9. FOR (Or BECAUSE) IN HIM DWELLS all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”
Again, the fulness of the Godhead did not dwell in Jesus until AFTER the cross which is when the Son of man who was made LOWER than the angels was CROWNED with glory and honor to RECEIVE all power and authority to OBTAIN a NAME more excellent that the angels. Jesus did not receive all power and authority until AFTER the cross, according to Matthew 28:18. And Thomas did not say “My Lord and my God” until AFTER the cross. So according to the Scriptures, both the PROPHECIES and the FULFILMENT the Bible ITSELF clearly teaches us that Jesus BECAME “A” God under and subject to his God AFTER the cross. And since we already cover the third Trinitarian argument in Hebrews 1:8 I will simply quote what the Trinitarian writer says.
Finally, Hebrews1 overtly tells us that according to God the Father Himself—Jesus is God: “But about the Son he [the Father] says, ‘Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever’”(v.8). Not only is the entirety of Hebrews 1 devoted to demonstrating the absolute deity of Jesus, but in verses 10–12 the inspired writer quotes a passage in Psalm102 referring to Yahweh and directly applies it to Christ. In doing so, the Scripture specifically declares Jesus ontologically equal with Israel’s God.
For the sound Biblical answer to the Trinitarian argument concerning Hebrew 1:10-12 please read the in-depth study called “DOES HEBREWS 1:1-12 TEACH THAT JESUS IS YAHWEH?”
Now to ME, IF Jesus was THE ALMIGHTY God, then he would NOT need to be EQUAL with Almighty God because he would ALREADY BE THE ALMIGHTY God Himself. It does not make sense to say that Almighty God is EQUAL to HIMSELF. Again, please read the above study on Hebrew 1:1-12. But for now, here is another Trinitarian argument as to why Trinitarian Christians believe that Jesus is Almighty God Himself in the flesh.
Many similar texts could be adduced. For example, in Revelation1 the Lord God says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty” (v.8). In the last chapter of Revelation, Jesus applies these self-same words—“Alpha and Omega”—to Himself! Additionally, in 2Peter1 Jesus is referred to as “our God and Savior Jesus Christ” (v.1). In these passages and a host of others, the Bible explicitly claims that Jesus is God.
Yes, the Bible in Hebrews 1:8 EXPLICITLY states that Jesus IS “THEOS” which is TRANSLATED as God with a capital “G” leading the reader to ASSUME that Jesus is THE ALMIGHTY God. But remember that this Greek word “THEOS” also means “god” with a lower case “g” which CLEARLY shows us that Jesus is “a” god who is UNDER or SUBJECT to the one true and ONLY ALMIGHTY God who ALONE is the FATHER. And yes, Thomas explicitly states that Jis is God by saying, my Lord and my God. but again, it must be interpreted that Thomas is saying that Jesus is the Almighty God Yahweh Himself as opposed to Thomas INTENDING his words to mean that Jesus is a God under and subject to his God who MADE Jesus our Lord God AFTER the cross. Jesus himself clearly identifies the Father as being the ONLY TRUE God in John 17:1-7. And every other Trinitarian verse of Scripture does NOT explicitly state as a fact with no interpretation needed that Jesus is the Almighty God Yahweh Himself in the flesh!
Now, Revelation 1:8 is probably next to John 1:1 as the most widely used verse in the Bible to try and prove that Jesus IS THE ALMIGHTY God. However, this particular Trinitarian Christian realizes that Revelation 1:8 is NOT Jesus himself speaking. But almost all Trinitaraisn interpret Revelation 1:8 as Jesus being the one doing the speaking because, in some Bibles, the words are in red type which is meant to indicate that Jesus is the one speaking.
But if you keep this verse in its CONTEXT and read all the way through to Revelation 5:7 then you will see that THE ALMIGHTY who was, and is and is to come in the ONE who SITS upon the THRONE and has a BOOK in His right hand and then the LAMB who is Jesus comes OVER to the ONE who SITS upon the THRONE and TAKES the book OUT of the right hand of the Lord God ALMIGHTY the ONE who SIT upon the THRONE and who is the God OF Jesus His SON. So again, the FATHER is identified as being the Almighty.
Yes, Jesus is CALLED God by TITLE in the same way that Jesus is called Lor by title and the King of kings by title but none of these titles make Jesus BE Almighty God Himself. For you see, Jesus was MADE Lord and King BY his God and Father who ALONE is the Almighty. And yes, Jesus sits upon the throne at his Father's right hand but this right to rule with his God and Father was GIVEN to Jesus His SON as the JOY set before His human Son to OVERCAME that old dragon called the Devil and Satan and ENDURE the cross, according to Hebrews 12:2. Please read Revelation 3:11-13 which CLEARLY and PLAINING shows us that Almighty God the FATHER is God OVER his Son Jesus even AFTER the cross and Jesus being highly exalted to be GIVEN a NAME above every other name, according to Philippians 2:8-11.

“Behold, I (Jesus) come quickly: hold that fast which you have, that no man take your crown. (Speaking of the crown of ETERNAL LIFE)
12. Him that OVERCOMES will I make a pillar in the temple of MY God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of MY God, and the name of the city of MY God, which is new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from MY God: and I will write upon him my new name.
13. He that has an EAR, let him HEAR what the Spirit says unto the churches."
Jesus HIMSELF tells us FOUR times in this ONE verse of Scripture that Almighty God the Father is HIS God. And, again, this is AFTER the cross so that so-called TWO natures of Jesus man-made doctrine does not hold water that it was ONLY his human nature that was under and subject to his God. There is not one verse in the entire Bible that teaches us that Jesus had two natures at the SAME time during the days of his flesh.
So to me, all the Scriptures point to Jesus as being the FIRST begotten Son of God who right NOW is the ONLY begotten Son of God. AND the Scriptures ALSO point to Jesus as a BEGOTTEN God as well who will reign as the God over the whole earth FOR Yahweh for 1000 years. And at the end of the Millennial reign of Jesus, he will commit the Kingdom back into his God and Father’s hand. Please read the studies “JOHN 1:18 THE ONLY BEGOTTEN GOD!” and “ARE THERE TWO GODS?”
Also, below is a complete list of all the studies that I have which show WHY I no longer believe in the doctrine of the Trinity and why I can NEVER believe in the doctrine of Oneness. I assure you that every verse that SEEMS to be saying that Jesus pre-existed in eternity past has another meaning that does NOT contradict any other verses of Scripture in the entire Bible.
