A. August Financial Update (Budget Transfers)
The attached financial statements through August 31, 2013 show the FY 2013-2014 budget and subsequent budget adjustments that reflect changes made after the budget's adoption on June 4, 2013, including a budget supplement of $33,000 for the Board-approved encumbrance roll-over from FY 2013. There are no projections calculated yet as significant payments and receipts in July and August were accrued back to FY 2013. The Fund Balance Summary report shows that the County has not transferred the August amount for the Operating Account but has for the new Textbook Fund; that the Federal Grant revenue is negative because of FY 2013 accrual reversals; and that all fund expenditures are much less than the 16.7% of budgeted expenditures that two months of the year would normally represent. This is typical of a school division where significant 10 month teacher salaries, utilities, and bus fuel are first recorded in September. There are detail reports following this summary.
