A. Legislative Agenda
1. Request for legislation to allow for Expedited retakes for SOL tests in grades 3-8
2. Request for legislation to allow school divisions to set testing windows for all SOL/EOC tests
3. Request for the restoration of strategic compensation funding
4. Request for legislation revising verified credit requirements for graduation to complement further reductions in mandated SOL tests at the high school
level
5. Request for a JLARC study on the impact of homeschoolers to participate in VHSL
6. Request for legislation to eliminate the requirement for school to begin after Labor Day
7. Support any legislation that moves the state closer to fully funding the SOQ's
8. Request for legislation to eliminate the requirement for 140 clock hours (seat time) for verified credit courses to allow for more flexible and virtual school opportunities.
9. Oppose any legislation that requires a redistribution of local dollars when establishing state-wide virtual schools/programs.
10. Encourage Federal legislators to reauthorize the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.
