If you watch "Stranger Things" on Netflix you get the reference. "The Upside Down" is an alternate dimension where things are not quite right. Sometimes I feel like the Butter Firkin is just that...for instance....
In "The Upside Down" this French door is not rotten to the core. It does not need to be replaced AND it is standard sized.
In the Butter Firkin world it IS rotten to the core, exposing the lovely guest room to the elements, and, of course, not standard sized, so we need to get a custom order.
I'm not sure if it's just me, but it took me an hour to order just ONE set of French doors...that will take three weeks to arrive. Sigh.
All that said, it's worth it. The light that comes in that room, and the view are just stunning. Anyone who stays in the guest room will be so happy we went with the custom French doors....you're welcome.
In other news...
Rotten stuff was cut out.
NEW windows were installed.
Aren't they lovely?
And me?
Cabinets, cabinets, cabinets....
What color? I would say, "white." Bill would like to remind me that there are, according to this can of paint, at least 3900 other shades of white. That's a little joke.
I don't ever want to look at a cabinet again...but apparently I still have to get a sprayer and paint ALL THE DOORS with this "White NO 3900." I mean, if I want to live in this house by September 13, I will need a place to put plates and cans of food and what not, at the very least. I can do without a lot of other things. But the kitchen kinda needs to be sorted out.
Sooo, that's where the Firkin is at on this lovely, nearly end of August day. Hope it finds you loving the gorgeous weather Mother Nature has bestowed upon us. If anything, I am always grateful for that.
