I mean, why not?

I mean...why NOT teach a three day course on Library of Congress primary sources when every second counts towards getting my family into the Butter Firkin??? Well...if memory serves me correctly, I think I signed on long before this whole Firkin business started...also, I'm a nerd, so I need to do my duty and spread the good word about the Library of Congress.

I mean, why not scrape all the wall paper off this hallway instead of the bedrooms which need to be ready first so we can move in? Because once you start a thing, sometimes it's impossible to stop. I get it.

I mean, why not spend a ridiculous amount of money putting in a fountain to aerate your pond? When your husband is a physician assistant in the Emergency Room and has seen flesh eating bacteria, you take precautions.

It may seem excessive, but hey, we'll have power down by the pond - imagine twinkle lights and music...I'm already planning Liam's graduation party (for those of you who don't know, he's starting high school this September...) I mean, why not?

On a super cool note, they found this old tin pie plate, at least that's what I think it is, when they were digging the power line.

I mean, why not paint all the baseboard trim after teaching all day? Because sometimes that's what needs to happen when the hubs has to work and the contractors are coming. All the new baseboards are going in on Friday, so we gotta get 'er done. Sorry about the bad lighting in these pics - it was nearly dark when I finished up and the only room with working lights is the kitchen.

Here's the kitchen. I was too tired to get the step stool. Don't judge.

I had to use up the paint I poured out so I went ahead and finished a wall.

I'm trying to figure out why I am posting these pictures...maybe just to make myself feel good that I got so much done in a day...also, I wanted you to see the cool pie plate. Not a super exciting day, but, I mean, why not?
