Well, it's finally come to this. I am about to show you the REAL Butter Firkin. So far it's been tricks with photo angles so as to give the appearance of a lovely home. But the reality is that we live in a few rooms while the rest are full of boxes we can't unpack until the rest are finished. Some days I can clean areas up, but then the contractors come through and it's a disaster again. So...here's what we are dealing with:

But first...know that I am, for the first time in an eternity, vegging on the couch, playing a movie in the background, while I write this. Also note, the shelves are basically empty. There are SO many things to do...and so many boxes scattered around the house we cannot be bothered with figuring out what to put here yet. One day, though...they will be lovely, I am sure...

Full disclosure...I cleaned this tonight.

It's like a tidal wave of STUFF. A tidal wave of busy, of noise. Bill and I have always tried to make our bedroom a kind of sanctuary - no television, as little clutter as possible...but now, it's a tornado. It's temporary, I know...but oof. It's getting old, fast.

That rack of clothing is just to the right of the foot of the bed...and I want to hurl it into the fire place it's blocking...but that would be pointless.

So. This has been the Adirondack room for the last few weeks. It. Is. ABSOLUTELY. HORRIBLE. A day or so ago Bill informed me that we need to scrape all the peeling paint off the ceiling ASAP so our contractor can do his work. And so...
