The Pro'spekt Residence is an Urban Village incorporated with the vision of the future urban elements as it is located across the developed part of the Kuching city. Thus, providing more potential to prospect more in terms of tourism, culture, and economy onto the design is one of the ideas. As it is situated at the existing Malay village, the functions and programs of the spaces will be repurposed and rekindled to offer an environment that is easy to be adapted by the residents of the site with the future development.

The proposed design is affected by the traditional houses based on different aspects such as the building materials, components, and majorly from the building layout. Thus, based on our own perceptions of the traditional houses are given their own identity from the building facade which is using timber as the based materials and the building components such as long windows. Therefore, this constructs an impact on the identity of the culture, the Sarawak Malays which is the locals that they lived with spaces enclosed by timber walls and important for the design to preserve the distinctiveness of exterior appearance on the traditional house.
