"Glimer"
The designation of the booth is located at India street Kuching. The venue is one of the Kuching heritage consist of small pathway linking from one end to another allowing pedestrian and tourist to roam around.
The design of the booth is the amalgamation of the elements of the heritage site and the garment concept. Inspired by the signature features appearance and the typology of traditional old shop houses, the booth facade consists of the louvre window and meshed ventilation mimicking the natural ventilation system used in the heritage shop houses while fussing with the kinetic facade inspired by the roller shutter shattering sound whenever an object pass by at higher velocity creating wind drag.
The kinetic facade also becomes the indicator whenever high crowd passing by creating more wind drag that visualize on the facade. The kinetic facade is inspired by the skin of my garment. The form of the booth is adapted to the site as well taking in consideration of the pathway without being too obstructive.
During the non-operating hours, the booth is able to be collapse as smaller Block making it a centre piece of light installation during the night. The arrangement of the block when expanded are adapted to the site walk path whereas dwellers are able to walk back and forth from all side
