The precedent study is based on a riverside/ boardwalk activity at an urban area in Malaysia or overseas. Students are to study in detail the space planning and design elements of the building/ linkages, discuss the interesting features of this development and demonstrate the understanding of architectural elements, environmental factors or the existing site context that contribute to the success/failure of the design.
ARCHADIA Town square; Portable Architecture
Integrating arcadia scene of innocence and peace by merging with some nature to create a meeting point for young minds which acts as a place for contemplation while also adaptable for every individual as the region is densely populated.
Town Square serves as a year-round focal point for the city and a symbolic living room. The complex, which is located across of Kuching waterfront, evokes primeval ideals of gathering by providing a venue for passive and active recreation as well as a home for some greenery in the fast increasing population. The Archadia Town square building, which construct as an elevated structure, is designed to morph based on functional needs.
Inside, the structure includes a multi-use assembly space for public gatherings, music performances, mini library, exercises, outdoor cinema, event venues such as wedding reception, pageantry and more. To make the user's experience worthwhile, provisions for a cafe and a small bakery were integrated into the design.
The Archadia Town square in the city transforms a neglected wasteland into an urban park that revitalises the surrounding communities.
OCTA STADIUM
By analysing the current situation of Covid19, the proposed Digital Sports Centre design was to complete the site context with the pandemic situation. Octa Stadium was designed with the concept of borderless in mind in which to show the possibilities of the programs held towards the surrounding context. By all means showing that the programs/ design are limitless and full of possibilities hence borderless. This is showed by extending the design from a core centre towards the surrounding and responds to the context. The design includes an Arena that accommodate over 200 spectators and also acts as the core of the design, other than that includes the VR Cubicles, AR Exhibition hallway, a mini seminar, a therapy room for relaxing or injured users and also a café.
