"Ruai"
The design of the kiosk is inspired by the design of the garment in Project 1. Generally, the design of the garment is inspired by the longhouse. Therefore, in this pop-up kiosk project, the space of 'Ruai' in the longhouse is applied to the design of the kiosk. Ruai is a place where the community of the longhouse do some gathering activities. People who come visit the longhouse will feel welcomed when they enter the 'Ruai' space. On the other hand, this pop-up kiosk will be located in India Street, Kuching. Based on the history, the street also presents the true essence of Malaysia unity, which is that the Indian settlers at the street and the neighboring Chinese community were really welcoming to each other. In this project, the vibe of communal space and welcoming each other is applied to the kiosk. The pop-up kiosk have an entrance door and exit door that can ease the circulation of the people. Next, the composition of the space also is good and easy for the customer to look around the kiosk. There is also a sitting area prepared for the comfort of the customer.
