"Harshmellow"
Harshmellow is my Project 2: Kiosk inspired from part of my garment which is the upper part of the skirt. Hence, the shape of the dome. My garment was inspired by the way the Iban people speak which is loud and harsh at first but when you get to know them, they are very friendly. I wanted to implement this into my kiosk by showing a harsh facade but soft interior. The dome is made up of triangles which is very geometrical which I interpret as the harsh while the inside we can see a circular floor plan which I interpret as the mellow. Therefore, the name Harshmellow.
Harshmellow is located in the middle of India Street in front of Kai Joo Lane. The dome is half opaque and half transparent. I want my garment to be seen from a distant hence the transparent facade. The opaque façade is to act as a cover ad to bring more privacy to the fitting rooms.
When pedestrians walk from the west side of India Street, they will see the garment from the transparent side. The door will also be visible so they will know where the entrance is if they wish to enter. As from the east side of India Street, the pedestrians will see the garment through the entrance.
