MANSANG comes from an Iban word which means welcome. It was inspired with a soaring welcoming ambience that comes from Iban community that openly recieve greetings from any visitors that comes into our environment, The infamous folklore Bujang Senang and Sarawak's diverse rainforest. Mansang is built with numerous material mainly to portrays the diversity of culture my community embodies for decades.
Mansang Kiosk is a nature-inspired, economical retail kiosk strategically located at India Street Pedestrian Mall. Inspired from very own garment's concept, The Three Elements of Sarawak's Nature focuses primarily of the symbiosis of greenery in rainforest. The kiosk was purposely constructed with various formation and texture of bamboo, strongly connected with multiples joint method for a long term used. The circulation of kiosk is made to have an endless revolving illusion effect with three levels, consecutively converging the hoghest point towards the middle and lowest point at the exit. The outer layer is composed of repetitive vertical bamboo with various sizes aligned with its respective purposes and design elements. The openings of windows was proposed to reflect the motion of blooming flowers; bloom during the day and closes its petals at night.
The Golden Casque is a sculptural bus stop located at MBKS, Sarawak. Designed mainly using metals, steels and perforated aluminium sheets. Proposed to be an expressional bus stop paying tribute and spritual respect for Sarawak's famous landmark the Rhinoceros Hornbill. The divisional of three consecutive parts derived the exoskeleton of soaring movement of the hornbills in the mist of rainforest, spreading its wings reflecting freedom, respect and pride. The roof is designed to be protruded to provided extensive shelter for users from rainfall and excessive exposure of sunlight. The middle roof is further added with six exoskeleton steels casque-shaped strongly hold with beams and extra steel connections to provide extra support. OKU- friendly theme is also implemented within the design, proposing equal access for all with or without disabilities.
