The precedent study is based on a riverside/ boardwalk activity at an urban area in Malaysia or overseas. Students are to study in detail the space planning and design elements of the building/ linkages, discuss the interesting features of this development and demonstrate the understanding of architectural elements, environmental factors or the existing site context that contribute to the success/failure of the design.
Transportation hub designed as the node to attract and gather community including locals and tourists. It is also a focal area connecting site a and site c following the continuity with various components like bicycle lane, bridge, broad walk and a series of interactive programme more happening. Bicycle lane cut through the building to implement the combination of transportation and building. A interesting interactive bus stop is proposed at the ground floor, provide waiting area for the passengers. Interactive kinetic facade installed to blend with the playful elements. Roof garden with glass pyramid as passive design and green components in a urban area.
Architectural style, community and entertainment is the three main key words on this design that response to the site context. Architectural style refers to the existing buildings around the site, while interaction between community to reduce the generation gap and proposing different types of entertainment activities are the main design intentions of this digital sports centre. Outdoor recreational area like courtyard and jogging track mainly for elderly community for more relaxed activity while indoor digital programme like gaming and arcade for the youngster. By that, introduction on both outdoor and indoor activities and sports that suits to various groups of community is emphasized. Modernized world should also involve the past, combining the present - technology to build a better friendly society.
