The characters that I have choose are Kuih Celorot and Fort Margherita. Kuih Celorot is main made of rice flour and gula apong, if fold with daun nipah then form a solid yet chewy tecture. Fort Margherita is constructed by Brooke's and becoming the landmark of Sarawak history.
"Endless Prominence" is formed of the traditional characteristics. Kuih Celorot and Fort Margherita designed as English caged-like gown to symbolise the rigidity of the exterior with found in both characters.
Based on the Kuih Celorot, “Centre of Culture” is design in a shape of semi-circle to emphasize it’s shape. It is designed in rhythm way with inclination for 4 spaces. The first two spaces have the function of expanding during daytime and enclose during the night. The designed is to emphasize the main subject is made of flexibility to the structure. The different height of the platform of the kiosk is to show curiosity and approach where it is to reflect the hierarchy from the higher to lower ground and where there will be the main focus to the entire building.
The design inspired by the Perahu Tambang which is one of the traditional modes of transportation used to cross rivers along the Sarawak River banks in early days. “Stead” is named to the bus stop designation whereby the Perahu Tambang has its own role and responsibility which it serves as river transportation for people crossing by. It is include that the people, users that use the bus stop waiting patiently for the bus to arrive where that is standing on its stead.
