LUCY MAUD MONTGOMERY

She was born in New London (Canadá) on the 30th November 1874. She died in Toronto on the 24th April 1942.

Her mother died when she was only 21 months old. She was raised by her grandparents, she lived with them until she married.

She studied literature and became a teacher, she worked in several schools in Prince Edward Island.

She wrote children books, poetry and novels.

She was named officer of the British Empire Order.

In 1908 she wrote ANNE OF GREEN GABLES book, it was the first one in a series which was an immediate success. Those stories were made into TV animated series and those episodes were seen in many countries all over the world.

Anne of Green Gables tells the story of a girl who is adopted by two middle-aged siblings; Matthew and Marilla, who lived in the village called Green Gables. They were waiting for a boy to help them on the farm but Anne arrived and she conquered everyone with her charm and friendliness.
