ELLEN O'NEIL

Ellen O’Neal. (EEUU 1959 – 2020) En los años 70, cuando el deporte era sólo cosa de hombres, ella decidió pasar de los prejuicios y el qué dirán y se puso encima de una tabla de skate convirtiéndose en una de las primeras mujeres en este deporte y abriendo paso a que otras mujeres pudieran competir de forma oficial patrocinadas por grandes marcas.

Ellen O’Neal (USA 1959 – 2020) A pioneer of skateboarding, she was the first professional female skateboarder. She was called “The Godmother of Skateboarding”. She finished 3rd and 2nd in the World Championships, respectivelly in 1976 and 1977, after Ellen Berryman. She was sponsored by Gordon & Smith, Bennet Trucks and Vans. She acted in the cult film Skateboard. She co-starred alongside Tony Alva and Leif Garrett. She doubled for teen starlet Cindy Elibacher on an episode of Wonder Woman (the episode is centered around the late 1970's skateboarding craze). She got a star in the Skateboarding Hall of Fame in 2014.

Ellen O'Neal (États Unis, 1959 – 2020)  est une américaine, pionnière du skateboard. Dans les années 1970, elle était « l'une des figures de proue du skate féminin ». Surnommée la « Godmother of skateboarding » (« marraine du skate »), elle faisait partie du Skateboarding Hall of Fame depuis 2014.

Elle avait terminé 3e et 2e aux Championnats du monde, respectivement en 1976 et 1977, derrière Ellen Berryman. Elle était aussi sponsorisé par Gordon & Smith, Bennett Trucks ou encore Vans.

Elle fait une apparition dans le film Skateboard (1978), aux côtés de Leif Garrett et Tony Alva notamment, ainsi que la doublure de Lynda Carter dans un épisode de Wonder Woman.
