Habitat:

  • Hard - rocky (and sometimes sandy) bottoms to depths of 160 m .

Water column position:

  • Benthopelagic

Schooling characteristics:

  • Small groups

  • Dark bar on nape
  • Black blotch on Caudal peduncle, including rear base of dorsal fin.
  • Body deep and compressed
  • Body color is silvery with thin yellow-golden lines, head with a blue glint.

  • Potentially hermaphroditic .
