2 sticks unsalted butter
1 c. sugar
1/4 t. salt
2 large egg yolks
1 t. almond extract
2 1/2 c. all purpose flour
Beat the butter, sugar, and salt together.
Add the egg yolks, beathing between each addition.
Add flavoring and gradually add flour, kneading in the last bit with your hands.
Roll dough to 1/2 in thick and cut shapes.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 or 11 minutes. DO NOT brown!
Cool before icing.
