1 c. all purpose flour
1/4 t. garlic salt
dash of chili pepper
1 c. grated cheddar cheese
1/4 c. butter
3 to 5 T. cold water
1 beaten egg
2 T. poppy or sesame seed
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, garlic salt, and chili pepper.
Cut in cheese and margarine until pieces are the size of small peas.
Sprinkle 1T of water over the mixture and toss with a fork.
Push to the side of the bowl. Repeat until all of flour mixture is moistened.
Shape the dough into a ball and flatten on a lightly floured surface.
Roll out fairly thin and brush with egg and sprinkle with seeds.
Cut into strips and twist as you place on baking sheets.
Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
