旧约先知清楚预言以色列复国，如以赛亚讲到神必从东、西、南、北领回以色列的后裔（参考以赛亚书四十三章5〜6节），今天我们已经看见了；还有众所周知的以西结对枯骨的预言，指明就是对以色列人说的（参考以西结书三十七章11节）；更有耶利米预告，神虽把以色列人赶到各国，但必要领他们再入祂从前赐给他们列祖之地（参考耶利米书十六章14〜15节）。耶稣的橄榄山讲论中也预言耶路撒冷被毁（参考路加福音二十一章20节），他们要被掳到各国去，但终必归回（参考24节），而那将成为祂再来的前兆(参考28节）。保罗也指出，将来列邦的复兴与以色列人的归回有关（参考罗马书十一章12、15节）。

从以色列人归回故土的应许实现来看另一件虽不在圣经预言内，却是饶富深义的巧合，就是犹太复国主义（第一次会议于1897年于瑞士的巴塞尔举行）和五旬节宗在同一时候兴起，以色列建国与医治复兴同在1948年，以色列于1967年六日战争收复耶路撒冷，差不多同一个时候耶稣运动开始（《时代杂志》1971年6月号的报导中，三次提到耶稣运动始于1967年），还有当一百万名俄罗斯犹太人归回以色列的1989年，就是俄罗斯共产党垮台的那年。在神这些事并非巧合，而是一步步强化信心，让我们看到以色列就是先知预言的时间表。
