On October 24, 2023, the Utah State Courts launched two powerful mental health tools for non-judicial officer employees (judges and commissioners have access through the Utah State Bar). These employee benefits are provided in addition to the enhanced mental health & wellness benefits launched through PEHP for all state employees in July 2023.
Tava
Tava Health facilitates access to top-notch mental healthcare providers. Judiciary employees are eligible to receive six professional counseling sessions free of charge. Use of this benefit is completely confidential and voluntary. Employees should verify with PEHP whether a specific therapist accepts PEHP insurance if they wish to continue beyond the six free sessions within the same year. Tava benefits for Judicial Officers are offered through the Utah State Bar.

Host: Natalia Andreev
Date: Thursday, April 16th @ 11am MT | 10am PT | 12pm CT | 1pm ET
Description: Burnout doesn’t happen overnight. It builds quietly through chronic stress, blurred boundaries, emotional overload, and the belief that we just need to push a little harder.
During Stress Awareness Month, join us for a practical and compassionate conversation about how to recognize burnout early, prevent it proactively, and recover sustainably when it sets in. We’ll explore the emotional and physical warning signs of burnout, why prevention matters more than recovery alone, and how small, consistent shifts can protect your energy at work and at home. You’ll leave with realistic strategies you can begin using immediately without needing to overhaul your entire life. Burnout is not a personal failure. It’s often a systems problem, and a signal. With the right tools, you can respond differently.
