Holiday Leave

Making Time for Traditions

Holiday leave is accrued according to the number of hours paid in the pay period, excluding the holiday hours, and the number of holidays within that pay period.

Example: A less than full-time employee is paid 40 hours in the pay period, excluding the holiday hours. They will accrue 4 hours if there is one holiday in the pay period. If two holidays fall in the pay period, that same employee will accrue 5 hours for each holiday. Holiday leave is accrued at a maximum of 8 hours per holiday.

Employees eligible for leave accrual will earn holiday leave hours for the below-mentioned holidays.

Time-Limited Law Clerk Attorneys

Time-limited LCAs are traditionally employed for one to two years, depending on the court's needs.

Leave for Time-Limited LCAs is governed by HR07-19. To learn more about other potential leave benefits, please review Section 7—Leave—Leave in our HR Policies. Time-Limited Law Clerk Attorneys who do not accrue traditional leave should enter 8 hours of administrative leave (OA) on state holidays.
