WYNNE HAALAND

Verizon retiree

Wynne B. Haaland, 65, of Cairo, died suddenly on Friday, August 25, at Columbia Memorial Hospital, Hudson.

She was born in Blauvelt November 2, 1940, the daughter of the late Walter B. and Jane (Vanderbilt) Zaumseil.

Wynne had retired from Verizon, having worked in Catskill as an operator.

She was an avid gardener and loved to paint watercolors and draw. She also loved spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren grow.

Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Turner; daughters Kari Diehl and husband Jeffrey of Cocoa, Fl, Kym Miner of Cairo, Amy Haaland of Delmar and Mia Haaland of Barhamsted, CT; son Steven Haaland and wife Patricia of Cairo; sister Elsa Schweizer of Essex, NJ; brother Walter Zaumseil Jr. of Elmira; grandchildren Kaysee Diehl, Kristine and Michael Miner, and Rebecca and Kristofer Haaland; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her brother James Zaumseil, predeceased her.

Those who wish may contribute in her memory to the Resurrection Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
