What has happened since June of 1958:

I Attended Union College, Schenectady, NY, for 2 years and left to join National Guard – 101st Signal Batalion Co. C Orangeburg, NY. After basic training and Signal School I went at the Journal News. During this time I met Connie Heffernan of Suffern, NY, who subsequently became Connie Williams, R.N. I was activated in National Guard for the Berlin Crisis by President JFK and married Connie while on active duty.

Upon release from active duty, I began my career at Lederle Laboratories. We had three sons, David Jr. born in 1962, Keith born in 1963, and Kevin born in 1964. In 1971 we moved to Stony Point, NY. I attended college part time at RCC, full time at Suny New Paltz, and Empire College (BS Chemisty) while working at various laboratory jobs in Lederle while getting my degree in chemistry. Connie worked for Rockland County in Crisis Services as a therapist. She got her BS and MA in Psychology. I worked as a chemist in Medical Research and Development.

In 1979 tradgedy struck our family - David, Jr. was killed in a car accident. Our family held together through all this and is very close. We love each other a lot.

I became Supervisor of the Medical Research Discovery Pilot Plant acting as both chemist and chemical engineer. Our son Kevin married Diane Joachim of Stony Point, NY. He has followed in his father’s footsteps and is a supervisor at Lederle, responsible for ultra pure water systems. Diane has one of Connie’s electrolysis practices and is planning on a career change to become a teacher. They have one daughter, Carly 11.

Our other son Keith married Barbara Ho of Ann Arbor, MI. He is a rocket scientist at NASA, responsible for the Constellation Project which is the new mission to the moon and to Mars. Barbara left a laboratory supervisors position at Baylor University to teach AP Chemistry at the Debakey High School for Health Professions. They have a daughter Emma, 11, and a son Brandon 14.

Connie retired from the Crisis Services about the same time I took over the Pilot Plant. and started her own business as an electrologist. The business flourished and she had 2 offices before retirement.

I transferred to Fort Dodge Animal Health, Princeton, NJ, as a Senior Project Coordinator. My job took me to Argentina, Sicily, England, and Denmark to install new chemical processes and build a new plant. During this time we lived in Montville, NJ. When we both retired we moved to Texas at our current address.

What are we doing now? We travel around the country by RV. I hunt & fish. We go on cruises, go to plays, shows, concerts, ball games (soccer, basket ball, etc.), and The Rodeo. We have made many good friends in Pearland. And, our Grandkids take up a large portion of our time. We attend every game, concert, and award ceremony that we can. We take them camping every chance we get. They are growing up way too fast. Our NY grand daughter Carly age 11 loves to camp with us, plays the clarinet, and is an A student and soccer player. Our Texas grand daughter Emma age 11 plays piano, is an A student and a competitive soccer player. Our TX grandson Brandon is 14 going on 21. He made varsity soccer as a freshman this fall as well as the drum line. The track coach is after him, also. He is a A student.
