Ann McGivney O'Hara 1940 -1982

A note from Gail Katt Scales to Fred Prezioso on November 6, 2018:

Hi Fred,

I have some information about Ann McGivney O’Hara. She was married to Jerry O’Hara and had 3 children. Jimmy, Kathleen and Tommy. She was killed in an automobile accident in November, 1982. She was in the car with her baby, Tommy, who was 2 years old at the time. Luckily he survived with no injuries. Jimmy was almost 15 at the time and Kathleen was 13. Ann had been a stay at home mother but was very active in the ambulance corps taking care of the finances, I believe. She and Jerry were also very involved with Jimmy’s sports activities. Jerry eventually married a girl from Pearl River, but I forget her name. More tragedy struck when Jerry O’Hara died young of cancer in 1991.

Actually, Ann had the first get-together for a group of us who were about to start the planning for our 25th reunion in 1983. We had met at her house not even a month before her death. Ann and I remained close friends until her sudden death and it was such a shock to us who knew and loved her.

Gail's daughter helped Fred contact Kathleen Campbell, Ann's daughter. Kathleen added to Gail's note, "My father did marry a PR gal, Wini Knightly and she is still a huge part of our lives!!"

Kathleen also provided the following family photos and, finally, the images of the newspaper article about the car accident the took her mother's life.
