Susan Elson Von Ohlen 1941-2000
Susan M. (VonOhlen) Elson of Chestnut Ridge, NY, formerly of Pearl River, died December 7, 2000 at age 59. She was born in Brooklyn to Thelma and Jesse Elson on June 6, 1941. She is survived by her father of Tamarac, FL, her sister Lyn Borek of Chestnut Ridge, NY, her son and daughter-in-law Ralph and Elaine Grasso of Breinigsville, PA and grandchildren Ian, Nicky, Emily Grasso, aunt Doris Pilof of Pomona, nieces Alyssa and Heather of Chestnut Ridge. She was predeceased by infant son Andrew Ian. She was a lover of nature and animals. She got great joy from collecting and arranging wild flowers. She also spent many hours exploring the woods, bird watching and she also enjoyed the cats and dog she lived with. The funeral is at Hellmans Memorial Chapels, Spring Valley, Sunday at 11:30. Burial to follow at Cedar Park Cemetery in Westwood, NJ. Shiva will be Sunday at 7:15pm and Monday through Thursday at 8:15pm at the home of the Borek family. Donations can be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in NYC.
