After graduating from good old Pearl River High, I enlisted in the United States Air Force.  I spent time in San Antonio Texas (boot camp) Biloxi, Miss (tech school) Mitchell AFB Long Island (1 year) and 2 years in England. After returning to the USA in 1962, I bummed around awhile before going to work for the New York Telephone Company in 1963. Shortly after, I married my wife of today, Jean Hopper, on May 30, 1964.  During my stay with “Ma Bell”. I worked as a Switching Technician in White Plains,  Tarrytown, Dobbs Ferry, Spring Valley, Nyack, Orangeburg and eventually in Pearl River where I retired in 1999.

(June, 2014)    My wife and I have three children; Patricia who lives in Allentown, PA, Tom who lives with his wife Beth in Parksville, NY and Terry Raboni who lives with her husband Greg and her two children in Florida, NY. We have picked up 5 more grandchildren with the remarriages of my Son and Daughter Terry. We now have 10 Grandchildren.

Jean and I bought seven acres of land in Hamden, NY in 1986 and started to build our house in 1988. It took us about 4 good years of traveling back and forth from Rockland County to just about complete it. After retiring we sold our house in Orangeburg and moved to Hamden on June 1, 2000. Since moving Jean was active for many years in the Relay For Life team and the Town and Quilting Club. She gave up the Relay For Life team in 2012 but is still active in the quilting club. She is now active in helping me mow the property, in the summer, which takes us about 4 to five hours. I am still playing golf and caring for my honey bees in the summer. I am active in the American Legion Post 190 in Delhi and am a member of the Honor Guard. We both still ride the local the local trails on our 4- wheelers but have sold our snowmobiles last year (2013). We now spend our Winters in Ocala, Florida. We purchased a small home last year in a 55+ community and spend our winters there. We got tired of shoveling snow and the bitter winters. Jean's Brother, Jimmy Hopper, lives about 25 miles from us with his wife and we have spent some time with them over the Winter.
