Dear Maureen, I’m Pete Baklinski and this is your Canadian Pro-Life News Bits where I let you know what’s happening on our country’s pro-life and pro-family front.

Our summer intern Joanne has broken the story of a pro-life group in BC being barred from setting up a vendor booth at the famous British Columbian Northern Exhibition (BCNE) fair despite the group attending the event for the past forty years. Yup, it’s blatant discrimination against a group for being pro-life. Joanne did a fabulous job gathering the material for this report and putting it all together.

Quebec has the highest rate of euthanasia deaths in the entire world with 7 per cent of all deaths in the province attributed to healthcare professionals helping to kill their patients. An independent body is now sounding the alarm, saying that the deaths have gotten out of hand. The sad fact is that once killing (MAiD) becomes a solution to a problem (incurable suffering, etc.), suddenly there are many problems where killing becomes the only solution.

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe and Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson have recently joined New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs in defending parental rights by stating that schools should inform parents if their children want to identify as a member of the opposite sex at school. It’s great to see these premiers standing up for parental rights in the face of rampant gender ideology that has infiltrated schools across the country.

Does Abortion Really Lead To GENDER EQUALITY?:
“Do women really need abortion to be equal to men? Let's rephrase that. Do women really need the right to kill other human beings - their children - to be equal it men? Women's unique biological ability to bear life makes them different from men, but no less equal. We should celebrate women's capacity to bear life while supporting them through the unique challenges it presents. All the while calling on men to help share in the responsibility for creating and raising new life. Real equality requires an equal right to life for everyone.”

Maureen, have you ever heard the pro-abortion argument that babies are better off aborted than being put in broken-down foster care systems where they suffer? It’s an argument that pro-life advocates hear quite often.

And, like all pro-abortion arguments, there is a fundamental flaw with this way of thinking.

The solution to a bad situation or to abuse is not to kill the one who suffers, but to try to end the suffering. We must stop the suffering, not kill the sufferer. Most people would be horrified at the idea of going into a foster home and killing the children because they are suffering there. People recognize that they are human and deserving of rights and protection, including the right to life.

Since it’s not morally acceptable to kill born children to end their suffering, the same goes for preborn children, since they too are full members of the human family and deserving of rights and protection, including the right to life. It is always wrong to kill an innocent human being, no matter their size, location, or stage of development.

It’s suffering that needs to end, not a child’s life.

So, this pro-abortion argument really does not work.

Creating a culture of life means recognizing everyone’s right to life, no matter what their age, circumstances, or location.

Be bold and daring for life!
