Good advice from Thomas Merton
During his homily the other day one of our Companion priests quoted Thomas Merton. "My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following Your Will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please You does in fact please You. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing... - Thomas Merton
"You will probably, if you continue as you do, begin the laborious job of changing the national mind and opening up the national conscience. How far will you get? God alone knows. All that you and I can ever hope for in terms of visible results is that we will have perhaps contributed something to a clarification of Christian truth in this society, and as a result, a few people may have got it straight about some things and opened up to the grace of God and made some sense out of their lives, helping a few more to do the same." Thomas Merton
" All the good that you will do will come not from you but from the fact that you have allowed yourself, in the obedience of faith, to be used by God's love. ...The real hope, then, is not in something we think we can do, but in God who is making something good out of it in some way, we cannot see. If we can do His will, we will be helping in this process. But we will not necessarily know all about it beforehand." Thomas Merton

Men of the Eucharist
When we celebrate the Eucharist, Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross is made present to us today. Therefore, we live and promote a deep reverence for our Eucharistic Lord.
Truly Devoted to Mary
As Jesus gave us his mother to be our mother at the cross, so we consecrate ourselves entirely to him through her.
Loyal to the Magisterium
To fulfill the Father’s will, Jesus founded the Church. We are to be loyal to the Holy Father and the Magisterium of the Church (its official teaching authority), a loyalty that will be lived out in obedience to our local bishop.
Empowered by the Holy Spirit
Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit with charisms (gifts) to build up the Church. We seek to be completely surrendered to the actions of the Holy Spirit within us, and open to receiving any spiritual gifts the Lord might want to give us.
“I am convinced that our priority as priests must be to see what God is doing and to minister to that.”

Our Lady of Czestochowa in Jazna Gora.
Father Lawrence singing the beautiful O Holy Mary at the Shrine of our Lady of Czestochowa in Jazna Gora.
After mass our pilgrims could go behind the altar and pray , There were countless relics of the saints behind the icon of our Lady. I think I was on my knees and touched a rosary to the relics ( I mean there was a glass partition but you know whay I mean )

Open Wide the Doors to Christ - Father Simon, Father Lawrence, and Father Sabourin, ( three amigos )
( Since I am forever taking pictures etc. I am including some of them as well as a few short videos.)
Maybe I shouldn't say this but I'm saying it anyways. I wish more of our Canadian clergy would follow the example of the Companions
