In the story “The Okanagan Community” It talks about the way they live their daily lifestyle, and it also explains how they connect to different things in the world. Their culture and place. their surroundings and what the believe in. How deep their inner self can go to succeed such wild achievements And also the land they live on with such beautiful details. One of the main gist of the story was when it talks about the four main capacities that operate together, It is, physical self, emotional self, intellectual self, and spirit self. The first one is about how the body survives within the skin, how sacred it is, and connects to everything around them. The second one talks about how their emotional self connects to the larger part around them, what their feelings and what state of mine they are in, and also being a whole within themselves.
The third part was the thinking intellectual self, and it talks about how in the Okanagan language it means that the other capacities they engage in when they are taking action are directed by the spark of a memory once ignited. The Final part talks about how the Okanagan people are so connected to the land they cannot be separated, also Everyone born into their community will also grow and gain knowledge just like their ancestors.
The way that this story relates to me as an individual is, If I compare it with my community, there are a lot of similarities that do connect. In order for a community to run functionally in their ways as traditions, All four main capacities are within most communities, these certain people who have specific duties take on these emotional and spiritual capacities. And in most the emotional and the intellectual self relate to people’s communities. It takes everyone to make their tribes full of life.

Over the years, there is has been a lot of toxic waste that people waste for their needs. It eventually effects surroundings like your own fields and environments. Minerals also have been in the water, but like any other cleaning system, the river moves and cleans itself. The question is still there tho. "What can we do to better sustain our environment?" There is multiple of solutions. The simple one, water and trash restoration. To accomplish by observing our values.
HISTORY OF THE RIO GRANDE
RESEARCH LOG 2
The Rio Grande has been here for more than 28 million years, its first existence was forming in northern New Mexico. During this time a series of Volcanic activity had come to pass and sediments of its trail had left New Mexico. And the effects after reshaped the directions in which the river (s) flow, and pointed in the direction of southeast. Flowing nonstop, traveling at 1,896 miles in length. Long ago, about 450.00 years ago, it rose very high to the top of the creek. The Evolution of our great and powerful river goes back hundreds of years before us. The Rio Grande passed through a long variety of environments and people (s), and evolved it to what it is today. The Rio Grande owes its existence to the San Juan and Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Southern Colorado and up North. Providing water for Fields, wildlife, and animals surrounding the Rio Grande.
It would in fact be very different if we did not have the River, just like Egypt has the Nile. What would they be without their river? Taking a look at a perspective in someone else's domain, containing life for them to live and prosper just like us. In all of its existence The Rio Grande has existed, it is interesting to mention that it never flowed to the sea, but has landed in various other island basins, There are multiple of rivers that are part of the hydrologic and rock cycles, they are Conduits that move water from the Mountain to across the continent. The Rio Grande over the past 30 million years has created a series of basins that extend North-South through the Center of our State.
The after effects of the Volcanic eruption affected where the Rio Grande would soon travel. Creating giant cracks for water flow to evolve and prosper to create life, and provide a strong ecosystem. Basins formed everywhere in the area. Over the past million years, earth’s climate change as well has changed the river significantly. By seeing sky rocket numbers go up and down, reminding us that New Mexico weather is bipolar. It also changed in a major way by creating new lands filled with animals and green life. The climate change also interfered with the river’s discharge of water. So in over the millions of years the glaciers have changed in evolving.
Climate change over the years has affected the Rio Grande, and these effects go on and on. The article states that each year the levels are different creating new paths in Chihuahuan desert, near the U.S border of Arizona. New Paths? This area of the Rio Grande survives on Rain drops, and it also raises questions. Important questions like where else in the Rio grande will this happen? And how fast is this affecting multiple areas. And the people and environment come to the point where they must stretch each water drop as far as they can. These are also the negative effects of the Rio grande that are causing harsh problems for the people and environment.
Agriculture and farming as well, rely and depend on the water to help them pay for their economy. The water must flow or the pay checks won’t, just like we prosper as well environments not just as pueblos but other Towns down stream. Farmers and ranchers work with government agencies, academic nonprofits and other partners to use what is left by these “raindrops” that fill their part of the river. The chihuahuan desert, the third most biodiverse desert in the world, and it is in fact interesting, this helps species. Species like the julimes pupfish. The fish hotspring is part of a ramsar wetland site, and is under the protection of a local coalition of farmers and other residents.
Huge Public sites are surrounded the Rio Grande and its cracks of where the river flows. The 15 mile Taos box section of the Rio Grande is arguably the finest day long whitewater adventure in the country. Overtime data has been collected following the Rio Grande and answers one of my very important questions. Why has the River level of the Rio Grande gotten so bipolar? And the solution to this answer is, we cannot predict where the River water level is going to be in ten years from now. It has nothing to do with receiving and giving away water from each other, the world changes and evolves, it is not always consistent, and that's good, it is just its nature from everything around it, adapting as well. We influence the River to stay, we are in charge of its health and prosperity

Drifting Toward Disaster: The Rio Grande
Drifting Toward disaster: The Rio Grande by Dylan Baddour.
This article that is based upon and connected to our streams is about, a breaking news occurence on 2022 , May 29th, the Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend national park had almost completely dried up in the area. For almost about one hundred mile through wild and scenic country had only just created pools before. As well as population growth from upstream and down stream, placing about more than four million people. As most of the water is transported to texas from Northeastern mexico.
Agriculture and farmers effects from the river. All these farmers rely on the water that goes out of mexico because of the treaty in 1944. This requires mexico to send out water from its northern mountains to texas farmers in five year cycles. The reason why the water had dried up so fast in Big Bend was because Mexico was not sending out the right amount of water. It was only about 14 percent of Mexico's water deliver had been made.
Action Plan 1:
My action plan was on November 11th Friday. 2022, and it took place in the middle classroom of Mr. Raymond Paddila, who was happy to have us present to his science class about our topic in river change and agriculture. As I explained my topic, what I wanted my audience to get out of this was to be curious and open minded about why these causes and effects are important to natural wildlife and agriculture.
Action Plan 2:
For my Action plan, I talk to my class about water restoration and why our streams in our community have gotten so low in the last 50 years. Also what is being carried in the water like minerals, trash, disposables, and etc.
Date Of Occurence: 3/8/23
Classroom 1st period:
I chose to talk about our natural environment, streams, and agriculture.
The Outcome of my experience from talking to the whole class about our natural environment was great because not a lot of people know what’s in our river streams.
CHINA’S WATER SUPPLY:
China’s water supply only has 6% of the most fresh water resources.
Statistics in the last 6 years show that the World bank indicates that their total renewable water resources per inhabit to 2,018 cubic meters per year, that s 75 percent less than global average
