In “Sharing One Skin” Jeannette Armstrong is a well-known activist. She is from Okanagan, which is part of British Columbia. The Okanagan people say Okanagan for themselves it means “the ones who are dream and land together.” They identify themselves as humans, and are different from birds, trees, and animals. The Okanagan people have 4 main capacities. The capacities are the Physical self, the emotional self, the thinking intellectual, and the spiritual. All of these capacities all mean a lot to the Okanagan people. They all have their own meanings.

“How place names impact the way we see landscape” talks about how there is a story behind each name, but we live in a world where places are named after the colonizers. Some people don't like the colonizers because of what they did to the Native Americans. Tohe talks about if you use the sacred name that it is a sense of using transformation. She had that as long as you will remember the stories that they will always be there. Another thing that the article talks about is pollution.

The article I chose is called “Climate change History.” In this article it talks about how global warming is affecting the earth and how they compared real world weather events to show whether or not global warming was real. In the article it also talks about how the gasses collect in the atmosphere. It says In the article it is describing how global warming goes way back to the ancient Greeks, and how many of the people had proposed that humans could change temperatures. In the article it compares the dust bowl to climate change because the people had caused the dust bowl.

The second article that I have chosen is “Impacts of Climate Change.” In this article it talks about how global warming has life long effects on the Earth. In the article it also explains how it impacts the food supplies. Another thing the article talks about is the concern for human health. The article explains how global warming brings serious harm to most regions. Global warming was thought to be something good but it turned out to be something hardful. It also talks about how global warming has made heat waves, storms, and other disasters worse. Another thing that the article talks about is how global warming is affecting the ice. It also explains how the co2 levels in the atmosphere were rising rapidly.

In the video that I found it explains how the earth went from ice ages to warmer periods. In the video it is also talking about how over the last years the earth has gotten a lot more warmer than before. In the video it also explains how scientists think that human activity has been the most cause of global warming. In the video it also explains how the greenhouse effect works. It works with the sun and with energy. Scientists believe that the greenhouse effect is affected because of the extra greenhouse gasses that humans had released into the atmosphere. In the video it explains that the arctic ice is melting. It says that the greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere will continue to rise, and the temperature will continue to rise too.

Current State of the Issue
“Provisional State of the Global Climate in 2022” explains how the past eight years are on track to be the eight warmest on record, fuelled by ever-rising greenhouse gas concentrations and accumulated heat. Extreme heat waves, drought and devastating flooding have affected millions and cost billions this year, according to the WMO Provisional State of the Global Climate in 2022 report. The statement also talks about the ocean temperatures and the global temperatures.

The video I chose is called “Climate Change 2022: Impacts, Adaptation & Vulnerability.” In the video it talks about how all life on earth from ecosystems to human civilizations are vulnerable to a changing climate. In the video it also talks about how the scientific evidence now shows that the current human caused global warming of 1.1 celsius is increasingly impacting nature and peoples lives everywhere despite efforts to adapt to the changing climate. The video also talks about the frequent and severe climate extreme events such as heat waves over the land and in the ocean droughts and flooding.

The article that I chose for my current events is “The world is falling short of its climate goals. Four Big Emitters show why.” Bearak and Popovich talk about how there was a Paris Agreement that said that the “leaders pledged to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in order to avoid the worst effects of climate change, the world is still not on track to meet those goals.” It also talks about how None of the world’s biggest emitters like China, the United States, the European Union and India, have reduced their emissions enough to meet the Paris Agreement goals. Another thing is The outlook for how much the world is expected to warm has improved as governments have adopted policies to reduce emissions and renewable energy has grown worldwide.

Economic effects of climate change on global agricultural production.Economic effects of climate change on global agricultural production is talking about all the different ways that the land is affected by climate change. It is explaining how climate change affects us all globally. In the article it says that “the growth of competition and the dynamically changing external environment are becoming increasingly difficult to deal with. It also talks about the Extremes of climate change and the expected adverse effects of the four pillars of food security - availability, access, utilization and stability - and their interactions. Another thing the article talks about is how climate change affects food quantity and food quality, water availability and quality, the presence of pests, diseases and pollination.

“Plastic runs through it¨ is talking about how in India most of the plastic that is found in the ocean is caused by the land. In the article it is also talking about 8.8 million of plastic is found in the ocean each year. That had captured the world's attention and that had helped transform marine plastics into top environmental concern. In the article it also explains that the experts believe that the solution not only lies in cleaning up the oceans but in reducing and containing the amount of plastic used where it is most originating from.

In the third article“An Icy World in a Meltdown” it is talking about how environmental change is starting to affect the animals. In Antarctica the penguins are highly sensitive to environmental change. In the article it is also talking about how the penguins are increasing rapidly due to the environmental change. In the article it also talks about how a scientist said that there are warning signs that the ecosystem has been disrupted.

Action Plan #1
The event took place on November 10, 2022. The people involved were me, Ariana Montoya, and a few people from around the school. The plan was to help motivate people to recycling and it was also to try to give people a sense of what could go inside the recycling bins. Our action plan had taken place all around the school. “That’s good your doing this because I always see people throwing plastic water bottles in the trash cans”-Mr. Mark Ericson

Action Plan #2
This event took place on March 5th 2022. My action plan took place at the basketball courts in Ohkay Owingeh. Some of my friends and family were involved. For my action plan I had a basketball and knockout game going and after we had picked up the trash around the basketball courts. I had chosen this action plan because I knew people would want to go outside and play games and I thought this was the most effective way people would help pick up trash. The outcome of my action plan was good. Everyone participated picking up trash and playing games. We picked up 3 bags of trash.
