Wire Sculpture

Im calling this project wire teapot because thats exactly what it is. The subject is based off a yellow, red and white teapot that I brought from my house. I chose to create this specific work because I thought that making a wire teapot would be a cool final product and challenging at the same time. For materials I used 28 gauge wire for all of the teapot and 18 gauge wire for my name and making the water thats coming out of the spout, along with needle nose pliers to bend it. I used a variety of techniques and methods including, connecting, connection the wires together, and bending, making the wires the right shape to make a realistic looking teapot. while creating this work I paid close attention to and form by drawing out the shapes and and measuring the height between the wires. I wanted my artwork to look exactly what the original teapot looked like, and i did that by planning out everything i wanted to do and how i would do it. To add interest to my composition i added water coming out of the spout, i did this by using the smaller wire to make it look more realistic. I like the way it came out and i am proud of how fast i was able to do it while it still having it look good. however i struggled with lining everything up because once i would connect all of it, it would move after. If i created another work i would make it a little harder because it didn't take very long. My work shows that i learned how to make a wire sculpture and how to connect them.
