"Upside Down Giraffe"
4.5" x 6.5"

I wanted to try a different perspective but when I sketched it out I didn't like the way it looked so I stuck with frontal and played with where I put the giraffe. Instead of centering it i pushed it to the left side of the paper and then continued to sketch. I drew a giraffe because I like safari animals and when I was little i got to pet some on a vacation.
I used watercolor pencils for the background and water color pencils for the body of the giraffe and then I went over the edges of the giraffe with a felt tip pen of different colors and outlined everything to make it stand out. I took me a while to do the head because I had to figure out where the lines on the giraffes head would go and then flip them upside down and to the opposite side.
I started off with just toned paper but for me it was hard to add the color and the shadows I wanted to appear that was already tinted so I went to water color paper, which also changed the material I used. My first project of this was really good but themI lost it and had to do another one, and I like my first one a lot better. I looks like I spend time on it and this one doesn't. I think my next steps could be restart because I really don't like this at all.
